The solution is useful for application development, but the user interface and user experience must be improved
The product must be made easier to use. The design is a bit tricky. When we log in to the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace and browse products, they look very small. The user experience must be improved. Alibaba Cloud must increase its partner network and brand awareness in our country. It will give our customers more opportunities to scale and save in the long run.

Improved internal controls and expedited financial close process while supporting growth
We transitioned from being an existing Business One user to using SAP S4HANA on AWS because our business outgrew the previous solution. Our focus is on improving volume and accuracy We are able to improve our scale and deliverables. From the finance side, we have enhanced our internal controls…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The cost of hosting the solution is very reasonable. It's quite inexpensive."
"What's good about Alibaba Cloud is its database service. It's also good in the virtual machine area."
"Feature-wise, it provides many features. ECS, VM, SP, bucket object storage, and databases are the most valuable."
"We use the product for storage and as a VPN."
"ECS is the most valuable feature of the solution."
"Alibaba Cloud allows for easy setup of mirror sites and backup servers, ensuring data redundancy and high availability."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy for me since I had a background in cloud products."
"The installation is easy."
"SAP S4HANA on AWS is an easy-to-use solution."
"We have approximately 1,000 people using the solution in my organization. The solution is scalable."
"SAP S4HANA's most valuable features include backup, security, storage, infrastructure, and enabling AI."
"The most valuable feature of SAP S4HANA on AWS is that when developed on a new structured system it can be configured."
"Overall, I am very satisfied with the solution, and it has proven to be highly beneficial to our organization."
"We deployed the database from another team called ECC into an SAP HANA system. The implementation project took about eighteen months. That team handled the technical aspects."
"This product is much better than most of the other products in this categaory as far as financial capabilities."
"Provides good performance and regular release of new features."

Cons

"A big area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is its support. Another area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is SDK-based service because sometimes, the SDKs don't work correctly. Support for API-based services also needs improvement in Alibaba Cloud because, at the moment, it's not that stable."
"I think that sometimes the customer service for Alibaba Cloud is inefficient.... Sometimes it's hard to reach out to them."
"Regarding security issues, Alibaba Cloud is more complex and better suited for developers and R&D teams. On the other hand, Google Cloud is more convenient for new users."
"The support offered by the tool is ridiculous."
"The user experience must be improved."
"It is not robust."
"The solution name is not favorable in some markets and could cause us some problems gaining customers."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"The drawback of this tool versus an on-site tool is that you've got to upgrade the tool. The software is upgraded as it gets upgraded and you've got to be ready to change whatever processes and do whatever training you need to do."
"SAP S4HANA on AWS could improve by having more data centers because there are limited data centers in the region I am in. Amazon AWS has announced a few more data centers to be added, but they're still not 100 percent operational for SAP solutions."
"The tool should undergo an overall improvement, including support. Data sharing should also be faster."
"The solution needs a warehouse management feature. Right now, there's a built-in WM, but they don't have an EWM extended warehouse management built-in, in S/4HANA. It's a separate product. So if they can add that, that would be great."
"We had some storage and legacy migrations problems with SAP S4HANA on AWS."
"CPU architecture is an area where the solution currently has some issues. Improvement in CPU architecture could improve the performance side and the adherence to the parameters set by SAP."
"There might be an additional document approval workflow that can be done on top of already existing functionality."
"There are incidents where there are certain glitches, however, they are specifically because of the configuration that people have made and based on the decision I made during the implementation project."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We cut our costs significantly by migrating our infrastructure to the cloud. Alibaba Cloud employs a pay-as-you-go model, so that minimizes many costs for us."
"I noticed on the pricing that it's quite expensive. It is the price you pay for making a practical choice for enterprise-level companies since it has so many features and it fits an enterprise-level company just like our company right now."
"Pricing for Alibaba Cloud is a little bit cheaper. It has reasonable pricing."
"The product is not that expensive."
"The cost is better than similar solutions."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"The price of Alibaba Cloud is good. If I was to use Microsoft Azure I would have to pay 30 percent more."
"I'm not sure about the exact pricing, but let's just say if it cost a dollar for Amazon AWS, it was closer to 70 to 80 cents for Alibaba Cloud."
"SAP S4HANA on AWS has reasonable pricing."
"It is a significant investment, around six hundred thousand dollars, and it involves both a one-time on-premises installation on servers and a cloud subscription with different flavors for SAP S4HANA."
"The price of SAP S4HANA on AWS is reasonable, given how much it costs to maintain a scratch-built system. To upgrade the support there is a fee."
"We pay an annual subscription fee for the solution, which is slightly expensive."
"The pricing is a little bit high."
"On a scale of one to ten, where ten is the highest price, I rate the solution's pricing an eight."
"It's expensive. It would be good if AWS and Azure could reduce the computing cost for people who move to the public cloud."
"Compared to its competitors, SAP S4HANA on AWS is a costly solution."
