Makes user management and application management easy for users
Speaking about the impact of the automation feature that impacted our company's operational efficiency, I can say that the complete tool works on automation. You just have to configure it, and it works, especially in areas like auto-patching updates. I suggest that others can definitely go ahead with Microsoft System Center, especially beginners who choose it, can get hands-on experience with it, and acquire a good understanding of how things work. In terms of the value and benefits derived from the use of the solution, I can say that my company's operations have been made simpler because of the product, especially in areas like user management and application management where we have been benefited a lot. I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Enables seamless integration with multiple systems
I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. It's not much more dynamic, not as dynamic as you may think, like seeing it in the cloud. In order to use it, you need to have the download servers and then scale up your systems. Oracle SOA Suites serves as a middle layer between applications. For example, let's say you have SAP, and we have Salesforce or Oracle ERP system. Users connect to those systems and perform certain activities or transactions on the applications. Now, if any data needs to be synchronized or any integration needs to happen between these applications, we use the Oracle SOA Suite. It acts as the bridge between the applications, not between the users. It's like having endpoints between the applications. Currently, we have 20 endpoints; 20 systems are connected to it, which is great. Oracle SOA Suite is being used daily. We are using it to its maximum potential.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The features that I have found most valuable are the ease of configuration and the easy discovery of the environment."
"The solution is easily available. That's its most valuable aspect."
"It can generate KPIs and management reports with monthly presentations on activities and updating the environment (success and failure)."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy."
"System Center helps to create the basis for ITIL alignment."
"The installation process is easy."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it helps us manage our company's application pool, license pool, application update pool, and OS updates."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft System Center is its GUI (graphical user interface)."
"It performs better in real-time transactions."
"The stability of the solution is the most valuable feature."
"The product provides transparency in finances."
"Provides connectivity between discrete systems and has availability."
"I found the adapters to be most useful."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle SOA Suite is all the platform's capabilities."
"Middleware jobs developing for EC, ERP, and shipping systems become easier."

Cons

"They should have some customized solutions or internal development, then maybe it could be easier to use different solutions or some self-developed solution."
"Less server consumption would help, as would better, more flexible reports."
"The platform performance and responsiveness need improvement. It still demands high computing resources."
"Microsoft System Center should be easier to manage. However, it is complex to deploy, so people hesitate to use it. Though it has many features, such as licensing, asset tracking, and software deployment, we mainly use it for Windows updates. It protects many screens and integrates with databases, but it's complex compared to other solutions. Many now use cloud-based products or other tools like Automox to deploy updates and manage vulnerabilities."
"Most of the documentation is online, however, there are some gaps there. The product documentation still refers back to the 2012 Server. We're pretty much in 2022. There's a ten-year gap there."
"System Center hasn't updated to keep up with the industry. It needs improvements in the user interface, ease of use, and overall product functionality, particularly the cloud-monitoring features. It needs more capabilities to monitor AWS and Azure infrastructure."
"The solution’s pricing could be improved."
"The solution's dashboard needs improvement."
"Various parts of SOA, BPEL, and so on, each have their own consoles which need to be accessed individually with different logins. It would be better from an admin perspective if all the consoles were accessible via a single login."
"One area that could be better is the human task feature. It could be improved to provide more functionality and customization options because it has limited options available."
"The Maven integration in JDeveloper is very basic and might be enhanced to allow the proper use of Maven."
"An area for improvement in Oracle SOA Suite is the cost. It could be lower."
"Decrease the number of internal resources which the product uses."
"Other solutions might be better componets such as Salesforce."
"I would like to see divided containers more separately as a microservice."
"It's also not developer-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I know that sometimes there is some reduction in the prices of Microsoft System Center because of the costs of Microsoft SQL Server, which can be advantageous."
"It's rolled into our enterprise subscription. The entire subscription is around $25,000 a year, however, that covers all the products that we use."
"Microsoft System Center's licensing is costly."
"I rate the product price as five to six on a scale of one to ten, where one means it is cheap and ten means it is expensive."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"Microsoft System Center is quite expensive."
"We maximized our license investment."
"This product is WebLogic based, hence it can be both resource hungry as well as expensive from a licensing point of view."
"It is necessary to evaluate the requirement regarding the platform usage and what the main operation area of the platform will be."
"The pricing is not very high as compared to its competitors."
"The product is moderately priced."
"Oracle pricing is expensive. Support is based on your license. AWS is much better than Oracle in this regard."
"Based on my knowledge, Oracle SOA Suite doesn't have user-based licensing. It has a system-based licensing model, so you pay for whole systems. Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution, so it's a four out of ten for me."
"Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution."
