Secure reminders have improved HR document control and support better client deadline management
I really love the reminders feature of N-able Cove Data Protection because I have many dates to keep in mind while working with multiple clients. The access settings are important for me too, and the fact that HR documents are personal means I do not want everyone seeing everything, especially because in HR we talk mostly about confidentiality. It is important that not everyone gets to see everything unless they have access, and I also appreciate being able to tell which copy is the final one. The reminders feature stands out for me the most because I deal with many dates and deadlines. The reminders work well for me in practice because they make it easy for me; I do not have to keep checking my calendar, even though I also use other calendars such as Calendly. The reminders come in handy because I do not have to keep going back to that, helping me ensure that I meet deadlines and do not miss client meetings, making it easier for me to stay organized.

Pros

"If you're looking for something that's going to be easy to use, cost-effective, but also provides a great backup and more importantly, a recovery solution, this is definitely something that you should look at and keep in mind."
"N-able Cove Data Protection has positively impacted my organization by making handling HR documents easier, ensuring deadlines for client meetings are met so we do not miss them, and helping us manage employment agreements, contractor papers, and all policy documents."
"Cove Data Protection has streamlined how we handle data protection, as an MSP, saving me time with a single console to administer all client backups and dramatically improving the service levels I can offer customers while giving me confidence in reselling a trustworthy service and company."
"It provides a single dashboard for all types of data protection, we monitor everything through a single dashboard. It simplifies everything overall. It allows us to see everything, whether passing or failing any issues, any problems through a single pane of glass that we don't have to click through or adjust as we go forward."
"The monitoring makes it very easy to check whether a backup has gone bad."
"We use a neat feature called VDR status, Virtual Disaster Recovery status. It only works on servers... It's automated. Once or twice a month it will virtually mount the backup and provide a screenshot and advise whether or not there have been any errors."
"N-Able has allowed us to have peace of mind regarding backups, with very easy browser-based backup and restore of files and no more missed backup schedules or need to go on a course to learn how to use the software."
"N-able Cove Data Protection is user-friendly and straightforward, and the dashboard is clear."
"The sync process has been quick, and the software correctly maintains the same file structure as in File Explorer."
"pCloud is one of my favourite cloud storage services that help me to store and share important images, videos, and files."
"I trust pCloud to store my business and personal files like photos, videos, university books, etc. pCloud is always there when I need it."
"Excellent service."
"I can access my files from all kind of devices and operating systems. I do not need any more external flash drives. I can even edit my files directly in the cloud using pCloud Drive."
"I like the interface and that they add new features all the time, but I use it mainly for the sync option which keeps my files up to date."
"After a lot of tests, I found pCloud to be the most secure and affordable solution for independent businesses like myself."
"The pCloud sync server client has worked well in the trial version."

Cons

"During the other 10% of the time when I have a problem, it's a mess."
"The reporting feature and functionality need improvement."
"Integration with a hybrid cloud is something that I found complicated."
"N-able Cove Data Protection does not provide a lot of SaaS backup products, which is an area they can improve. Additionally, there are some limitations on the storage side, where I cannot have a lot of employees backing up their data."
"For small amounts of data, recovery is easy, but when it's large amounts of data, it takes forever. So, if they can have a service where they put our data on a hard drive and ship it to us as fast as possible, it would be great. Even if there's a fee associated with it, it's fine."
"The only area that needs improvement is that it is a little bit difficult when you get into virtual machines. The initial deployment of Cove is a little tedious, not for standard machines, but when you get into specialty stuff, like Hyper-V."
"A disaster recovery console would be an improvement for the product."
"We don't use the solution’s automated recovery testing because SolarWinds made me cross."
"My recommendation is that support could be better, even though sometimes things can be technically complicated."
"I would like to be able to edit the files at the same time with the others, but I understand that this is not possible with the cloud solutions in general."
"I would really like to be able to search entire documents."
"Sometimes the desktop sync can take some moment before starting the sync process. Also, pCloud should improve their customer care service."
"I'd like to be able to edit my files via the mobile device without downloading the file on my local space."
"Integration with third-party software mostly. Also, online file editing option for documents."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The only option I would like to see is an adjustable scale. Right now we have 250 seats and we're not using all of them. It would be nice to be able to save that little bit of money by being able to buy just what we need."
"I believe that the price is very reasonable in comparison to other options. It is cheaper than both Redstor and Acronis and, since we are now using our own on-premise cloud, there is absolutely no comparison since we have unlimited storage rather than paying per gigabyte used for their onsite storage. We are currently able to backup fifty computers for the same price that we use to backup five computers."
"The pricing, for now, is good. The package that they gave us recently is pretty good. It depends on how many clients you have, and you pay for certain terabytes per license. These terabytes, if not used, are pooled together."
"When you have a device/appliance on the site quite a lot of the other enterprise class backup people insist that you have their appliance, which is frankly offensively expensive. Because when you pry the top off, it's just a standard 19-inch tin box with a standard Intel I5 in it, some RAM, and a hard drive. Then, you go, "Why have they just charged me 5,500 quid for a box, which I could have probably build for under 500." Whereas, with the SolarWinds product, they don't have that. The backup appliances that we have onsite are just plain cooking PCs. We can build our own machines, which is reflected in the price that we can offer a customer."
"The pricing is very competitive and it's well worth the price."
"Cove only takes the data you have on the physical server. I can back that up for long periods of time, and I don't accrue high charges to have the data in the cloud. It stays at one rate. This allows me to forecast payment for the next one or two years and show clients their estimated growth."
"The pricing of SolarWinds seems to be fair compared to the rest of the industry."
"N-able Cove Data Protection is an averagely-priced product."
