Manages user identities and application access in a centralized way from a single console/portal
OpenIAM provides an Identity and Access Management platform which includes identity and access management (i.e., SSO, Multi-factor Authentication, password synchronization, and RBAC). Below are the features : Lower Cost of Implementation & Total Cost of Ownership: * OpenIAM uses tools, such as Groovy script to implement business rules, Grails to create new UI functionality, Activiti for workflow, PowerShell, etc. It also support web services. So it is important to find skilled technical resources readily and at reasonable cost in comparison to the large vendors, which use proprietary tools for developing custom connector or product customization as per business requirement. * OpenIAM is also based on Open Source technologies (i.e., JBoss, Apache, MySQL, CentOS), so Total Cost of Ownership is very low in comparison to other IAM products. * Compliance with standards simplifies integration. * Subscription-based license model. Ease of Use: OpenIAM offers a single unified Admin console and a single unified self-service portal for customers to use and manage the IAM suite (i.e. Identity Management, Access Management, and Multi-Factor Authentication). Modern Architecture: * Built from the ground up, not through acquisitions and proprietary technology. * SOA architecture * Cloud-enabled Enterprise Grade Product: Even though OpenIAM is based on Open Source technologies, it is: * Built on industry standards * Simplified integration * Uses established industry frameworks

Access lifecycle has been streamlined but connectors for non‑human identities still need improvement
We currently use IdentityIQ and do not have SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. We only have IdentityIQ on-premises. I do not have extensive experience with analytics, but I know that there are custom reports available to obtain information about data in SailPoint. I am not entirely familiar with analytics data. It is difficult to score because you have to compare with another product to assess it. We are satisfied with IdentityIQ. However, I understand that we will not have a choice but to move to a cloud solution in the future because SailPoint is not investing in new upgrades or evolution of IdentityIQ. My overall rating for this product is 7.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Customer support is very good and available in almost all time zones."
"The most valuable feature for our customers and for us is the identity data warehouse."
"The most valuable features include its ability to integrate with AI and machine learning, the automation of reports, and the built-in connectors that enable easy connection with both legacy and cloud-based applications."
"The ease of use is very good; it's nice that everything comes out of the box in SailPoint, and once it's done properly, everything becomes very organized and easy to use."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ has a good and straightforward user interface. They also have a lot of resources and documentation available to understand the process."
"The solution is very good at the management of the identity lifecycle."
"The governance features, such as certification and provisioning, are the most beneficial for enhancing security."
"The solution is stable and flexible; we didn't have any issues with it, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"The solution can be customized to adapt the workflow to our industry, offering considerable flexibility."

Cons

"OpenIAM should improve the product/API documentation on portal which gives more flexibility to developers for product customization and connector development."
"The UI needs to be more user friendly."
"Compared to at least one other product some of the administrative tasks could be easier or more intuitive."
"The product’s cloud offering could be flexible."
"The connectors are far too manual. This needs to be automated a bit."
"They can work on their strategy for the on-premise version. They have to decide whether and for how long they will support the on-premise version."
"They can work on their strategy for the on-premise version. They have to decide whether and for how long they will support the on-premise version. The new features first appear in the cloud, and after that, they are released for the on-premise version. In the cloud, you have more options and flexibility, which is absolutely normal. They have to have a clear strategy regarding whether they'll support the on-premises version with the same focus. The licensing for on-premise and cloud is a little bit different. They can make it the same."
"It is too technical. You need really good technical skills in Java and other technologies, which are hard to find. If they can make it easier so that things can be done with a few clicks, it will be great."
"We have had a lot of service breaks because of the lack of support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"SailPoint is expensive compared to its competitors. It's one of the most expensive products, so I'd rate it as one out of five, cost-wise."
"We pay an annual licensing cost for SailPoint IdentityIQ."
"You are able to get discounts if you plan to use the tool for the long-term i.e. discounts for 5+ years of usage."
"It's all competitive. Initially, the prices look a bit higher, but once it gets into a competitive situation, they meet the market. I'd rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing. It tends to be more expensive, but it works."
"Its price is okay. It provides good value for money. It is subscription-based. You can go for a one-year or three-year subscription."
"I rate the solution a seven on a scale where one is cheap and ten is too expensive. In short, the solution falls under the higher side of pricing."
"The pricing is a little bit higher than other tools."
