Even moving the service over to another server can be done very easily. Although, having the ability to automate some things would be nice.
Customer Service: Customer service is 10/10. The sales rep I dealt with was great and always stays in communication. Technical Support: Technical Support is 10/10. They have a chat window, where you can start a chat after you log in to your server if you are having a problem. They even have a way to create a ticket from the login screen in the configured options, in which you can attach logs directly.

Have faced limitations due to high costs but have maintained reliability over time
The primary issue is the pricing, which is very expensive for my company's budget. We cannot afford to pay such a large fee. We are not Microsoft or BMW; we are a small company. As a small company, I have no power to negotiate directly with VMware. Perhaps larger companies have more opportunity to contract directly with VMware, but I do not have that leverage. The only path I can follow is to change solutions. Net.spA is a company working in the field of waste management. We are not a technological company, so we do not have a large margin to justify purchasing and maintaining the VMware infrastructure at current costs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to analyze my virtual infrastructure data against a rule base of 730+ rules has been the most valuable."
"With a single click, anyone can find and fix old, broken or invalid snapshots."
"It gives us deep insight into the entire VDI environment, where we have of over 18,000 VDIs. It helps us keep up on uptime, gives us real-time monitoring, tracking, and troubleshooting."
"Alerts and monitoring were most valuable. It was also pretty user-friendly and interactive. I was able to generate good reports in PDF and HTML formats, which was really helpful."
"vRealize has a very nice dashboard. It integrates well with other products such as those from Oracle."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it understands what is normal for a workload and alerts only if you go outside the given boundary."
"It's intuitive and user-friendly, especially with the new clients. It's really nice. It's really easy to use. The HTML 5 client is light years ahead of the old one. Everything runs faster, it loads a lot quicker, it's a lot cleaner, the UI is easier to navigate."
"Deployment was pretty quick."
"It is about being able to keep tabs on your VMware environment as a whole, instead of having to log into your vCenter all day and keeping tabs."
"Automation is a powerful tool that we're looking to use that'll make everything a lot easier."

Cons

"Having the ability to automate some things would be nice but is not a requirement with the product today."
"The deployment of the solution can be improved by making it less complex."
"The solution could improve by having more APIs, customized alerts, and documentation."
"I would say it's slow. The version we have right now is pretty robust in the sense that after you've installed it, and it's been running for awhile - it has to run for at least thirty days or longer. Then, it really gives you back meaningful data."
"Unfortunately, it has not been a consistently stable solution, because we've never fully deployed it as it's supposed to be."
"It should have some more functionality in terms of getting some more third-party vendor application-level integration."
"Setting up the alerts, definitions and actions were kind of tricky because there's a lot of false positives. A lot of things it alerts you on are not really problems, so you have to go in and tweak the policies around to see the actual real issues."
"Honestly, I don't think it's as good as it used to be. I think it's gone downhill a little bit."
"I wouldn't say that this solution is user-friendly. You need to know a lot of tricks to know how to use it. It's quite buggy and quite slow when it comes to loading."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing: It's expensive."
"Most small users don't adopt VMware Aria Operations until it's necessary. Small businesses are looking for it, too. We need more monitoring and insights, so we're analyzing solutions to help us out here. I rate the solution’s pricing a five out of ten."
"I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
"The billing is complicated because every country has a different option. Here in Chile, we don't pay for this kind of service with the Chilean pesos. We use another currency. In the future, I think vROps needs to work with governments for a native solution."
"It was cost effective, because it fixed our problems."
"The solution has helped to reduce the time to troubleshoot issues."
"Pricing is good for us. We're non-profit so we get a break on that."
"The product is too expensive to implement."
