Even moving the service over to another server can be done very easily. Although, having the ability to automate some things would be nice.
Customer Service: Customer service is 10/10. The sales rep I dealt with was great and always stays in communication. Technical Support: Technical Support is 10/10. They have a chat window, where you can start a chat after you log in to your server if you are having a problem. They even have a way to create a ticket from the login screen in the configured options, in which you can attach logs directly.

Have faced limitations due to high costs but have maintained reliability over time
The primary issue is the pricing, which is very expensive for my company's budget. We cannot afford to pay such a large fee. We are not Microsoft or BMW; we are a small company. As a small company, I have no power to negotiate directly with VMware. Perhaps larger companies have more opportunity to contract directly with VMware, but I do not have that leverage. The only path I can follow is to change solutions. Net.spA is a company working in the field of waste management. We are not a technological company, so we do not have a large margin to justify purchasing and maintaining the VMware infrastructure at current costs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to analyze my virtual infrastructure data against a rule base of 730+ rules has been the most valuable."
"With a single click, anyone can find and fix old, broken or invalid snapshots."
"The stability in vRealize has been great. We've had no outages nor impacts. The upgrade process has been great so far."
"vROps allows us to quickly get an overview of what's going on in the environment, without even having to know too much."
"One of the best features is the monitoring. It gives you proactive recommendations, based on the information that you have. It recommends changes. For example, if an ESX service is heavily loaded, it will tell you to make some changes, such as storage optimizations. Every tool does monitoring, but this one gives you more proactive monitoring, with the recommendations and actions that are needed."
"It has helped me optimize certain VMs and made them more efficient."
"It gives me the information that I need when I need it."
"It does exactly what I program it to do at this point, which is to tell me if I've got machines running out of disk space or over-utilizing CPU or memory. The monitoring component of it is the most valuable feature."
"It's taken a lot of the guesswork out and allowed us to be more proactive instead of reactive, which is nice."
"Just being able to go back in real-time, look up the performance metrics and forecast growth, i.e., if you have a large incoming demand are the most valuable features."

Cons

"Having the ability to automate some things would be nice but is not a requirement with the product today."
"There are some problems with integration, particularly with Slack, though these have been improved in the latest release."
"A lot of the stuff we need assistance with is trying to get us help on our internal process of actually implementing stuff."
"I'd want it better integrated with the core products, so you don't have to go to a separate site or interface to go and use it. Also, it generates too many false positives."
"Technical support is normally good but there is sometimes a delay in their response."
"Previous versions were not as strong."
"They need to start including more compliance stuff, more granular compliance checks."
"It can get a bit complex when getting into the endpoint monitoring during setup."
"The solution can improve by offering more flexible integration with other platforms or products, such as Hyper-V or Azure. Not everyone uses VMware. It would be beneficial to have a more open-source concept for integration, creating more visibility across multiple clouds."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The solution has helped to reduce the time to troubleshoot issues."
"We have definitely seen ROI by removing unnecessary servers and VMs. By having vROps as an assistant when it comes to monitoring and managing resources, it has helped us a lot with cost savings and managing expenses."
"So, besides the license overall, you have to pay for the type of support you want. With the license, there is a support cost as well."
"The value that we get from vROps is okay. It could be cheaper."
"The solution is costly."
"The pricing: It's expensive."
"I would give the solution a three out of five, with one being cheap and five being expensive. There are some elements of the pricing that are good, and some areas where I feel like I'm being charged for something the product can't provide yet."
"We have seen huge ROI. It has certainly reduced troubleshooting."
