AI automation saves time and simplifies financial processes
The data entry process is very time-consuming. Without using options like ODA, manually entering data in the GLS screen or Oracle invoices is a time-consuming job. The screens could be improved, as a lot of mouse clicks are required, and multiple fields need to be entered. Although it has a workaround with spreadsheets, the screen interface could be better.

Provides custom versions of reports personalized for users
For AI initiatives, you need to purchase a separate AI license to integrate with SAP Business ByDesign. I'd recommend SAP Business ByDesign for large companies that want to check data graphically, especially for monthly income, expenses, and taxes in the millions or trillions. Overall, for large-scale companies, I'd rate it ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The main component is Oracle Financial. It is one of the most comprehensive financial solutions available on the market."
"The navigation is user-friendly and the management-related dashboards provide excellent functionality."
"It is easy and very convenient for clients to go to the front end and check whatever update they want to look at."
"I find that the overall framework and database structure is quite comprehensive."
"The embedded AI is very beneficial for automations, and it provides a lot of help to customers."
"The user interface is the best feature."
"Built-in business intelligence has real-time reporting features that are quite handy."
"The scalability is very good."
"When comparing SAP Business ByDesign to much larger ERP solutions, such as SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business ByDesign is more user-friendly and easier to implement."
"I like the tool’s customization."
"ByDesign's best features are its speed, real-time data, and reporting."
"The most helpful feature is the integrations. Integrating the tool with SAP S/4HANA Cloud is easy, facilitating implementation and deployment. The runtime analysis checks for real-time analytics to see if the software works properly. This is a powerful feature."
"When we were using it, we did see an immediate benefit, especially in the inventory on consignment issue. We were a biotech pre-revenue company and most of our manufacturing was outsourced. So being able to track inventory within the system without creating a financial impact was very key for us."
"I have found the consolidation of the business and group reports very useful. There is plenty of features and the manufacturing and finance aspect of the solution are strong."
"I find the tool’s every feature valuable."
"The standard system is stable."

Cons

"The initial setup can be somewhat complex."
"The tool must enable users to customize the reports."
"Oracle can make the system more stable which includes some changes as some of the use cases were not available in Oracle's systems and the element’s value needed to be defined."
"If you go for the real-time process, the patch of work and the time to update the product will be too much."
"The Oracle ERP Cloud accounts payable could be improved."
"There are two main areas for improvement. First, the licensing and pricing model confuses customers, especially after going live. Different components like EPM, ERP, and OIC are charged differently. Second, the manufacturing functionality needs more maturity, especially for non-process-based manufacturing. We've raised this with Oracle, and they've acknowledged it. They might address it in future patches."
"I would like to see an improved approach to pulling data with VDI."
"One disadvantage is that we don't have immediate access to evaluate or fix data that is not in the app until we own the database."
"SAP Business ByDesign is a very vast product, but it has to be a bit more centralized. All the models need to be more centralized for a better experience."
"With SAP S/4HANA, you can design your release strategy and modify it to include as many people as possible, which is missing in SAP Business ByDesign."
"The payroll module of the solution could improve."
"There might be some hurdles when integrating with SAP ECC, but integration with SAP S/4HANA Cloud is smooth."
"The Arabic localization is neglected. It should have an Arabic interface. It lacks Arabic translation or support from right to left."
"The solution does not support customization for forms and reports. It's not flexible in case you need some enhancements in business processes."
"Scalability is difficult."
"The database needs to be more customizable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing is reasonable in the global market"
"We pay additional costs to a consulting company."
"We have an annual license with Oracle, however if we need additional features we do pay for them."
"For an ERP Cloud, the pricing is relatively high."
"In a developing country such as Bangladesh, Oracle ERP Cloud is expensive compared to on-premise solutions, so the turnover is very low. Customers become more comfortable using on-premise services because of the high subscription costs of Oracle ERP Cloud."
"The solution is moderately priced, where it is neither expensive nor cheap."
"Oracle ERP Cloud is on the expensive side."
"It is too costly."
"The pricing depends on company size. It's cheaper for small companies and more expensive for large ones."
"The tool’s subscription is yearly. There is no flat pricing involved and everything has a range. Pricing depends on the functionality that you would use. You need to also pay for the additional hosting and maintenance costs."
"The tool’s pricing is expensive."
"I rate the price of SAP Business ByDesign a seven out of ten."
"The cost starts anywhere between fifty thousand dollars and up depending on the number of licenses."
"The price of SAP Business ByDesign is less expensive than SAP S/4HANA. However, the price is on par with other similar competitors, such as Microsoft."
"The price of the solution could be better. They have to come up with a new strategy."
"We have to pay yearly."
