Data visualization has become faster and flexible and now enables quick multi-source reporting
Qlik Sense is very easy to use, but sometimes integration is a bit challenging. In our case, we wanted to integrate the cloud version of Qlik Sense, and Qlik Sense is not supporting the on-premises version, so we moved to the cloud version. We had a lot of challenges when integrating Qlik Sense SSO with the reports that we wanted to show on our web app or mobile app. There were a lot of challenges along with that, but eventually, we overcame those challenges, and things are working fine now. The integration part is one point for improvement; it could be more simple because I found some complexities with it. The single sign-on part is a little tricky and is not straightforward. We have done multiple rounds with their technical team, and although it got resolved later on, I think that it could have been better.

Pros

"Qlik Sense is very stable. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten. Even for rare issues, we receive good support from Qlik. It's a very stable solution."
"This solution is easy to use, intuitive and has great power for the exploitation of data."
"This solution has helped us with faster decision-making and faster data access through the mobile platform."
"Qlik Sense helps us increase our organization's customer relationships and brings in more projects."
"Qlik offers you all the features needed to extract the raw data from the source systems including an ETL layer to transform the data and to connect the multiple data sources into one data model, easy data sharing, security and scaling features, dashboards, and report functionality to share your data with your end-users."
"We were able to identify easy things, such as when a contract was loaded incorrectly."
"QlikView is highly manipulable, so you can build on top of the environment they already have to create your own solution for the problems you have."
"We can bring data from multiple sources and easily blend it in Qlik and create a data model (star schema)."
"Yellowfin doesn’t try to do everything – it is a BI presentation and communication tool, and it does it brilliantly."
"It is able to create information dashboards for various users' throughout."
"It is a central source of up-to-date data and information."

Cons

"Customer service has to improve and technical support is at a low level."
"I wish the product had the ability for slightly more customization. The out-of-the box charts and visualizations are fantastic, but I want to be able to tweak it without having to add outside extensions and widgets."
"There needs to be better pricing options for on-premises clients Right now, they are focusing more on SaaS."
"Qlik application automation needs additional work and features."
"Qlik has a fast learning curve due to great online training resources (Qlik continuous classroom), but those are lacking the advance features like building extensions and using the API."
"Some of the charts are still a bit basic and screen rendering on different sized monitors can be an issue."
"Qlik Sense did not improve our organization. Its use was forced by our parent company."
"More freedom for custom visuals and dashboard creation would be an improvement."
"It needs more presentation/charting capabilities and integration with GIS."
"The first release was a bit buggy, but they seem to have gotten on top of that very quickly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Qlik Sense and its pricing model can follow any scalability."
"The license mechanism of Qlik is quite complicated and not exchangeable. Such as 2016, they charge licenses by token, 1500$ for a token / 1 user. 2018: they change to 2 kinds of licenses: professional 1500$ / user, analyzer 800$ / user. 2019: they support subscription with 70$ Monthly for professional, 40$ monthly for analyzers, but for those you’re using perpetual licenses, they don't support acquiring more subscription licenses. The maintenance fee yearly are also high, 20% of the perpetual license."
"For on-premise enterprise users, a number of additional features come at a premium cost."
"The new licensing model is much better."
"Qlik Sense pricing and licensing is like that of QlikView. It's on the high side for a small company, but it’s competitive among its peers. Use of licenses (referred to as tokens) is a bit confusing. There is a login access pass for infrequent or anonymous access."
"Start small with tokens. You can always buy more."
"It is the most expensive tool."
"Understand the break over price point for switching to the Enterprise license."
