Enterprise images have improved secure CI/CD pipelines and now support consistent deployments
When it comes to improving Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support by SupportedImages, the overall experience has been good for me, but there are a few areas that could be enhanced. I would like to see faster availability of newly updated supported images after upstream releases. It should have clearer documentation with real-world examples for containerized workloads, which would give us better guidance on image selection and lifecycle management to help our teams adopt and maintain supported images more efficiently. I would also appreciate more integration with CI/CD tools and Kubernetes platforms. Additional automation around vulnerability scanning, image lifecycle management, and notification updates would also be valuable. The best practices and faster access to troubleshooting guidelines would help teams resolve issues more efficiently. Overall, the product is already solid, but these enhancements would provide a better developer experience.

Pros

"Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support by SupportedImages has had a positive impact by improving the reliability, security, and consistency of our deployments."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise is easy to configure for those who are not hardcore command-line driven."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise provides a stable, secure, and well-supported platform for enterprise workloads, with powerful management tools and robust support for clustering, cloud, and containers."
"SUSE Linux is a great Linux-based solution, of which there are few that support SAP systems and HANA databases."
"I like how the tool handles kernel modules and upgrades - we rarely have issues after upgrades, unlike with other Linux distributions like Oracle Linux or Ubuntu. The kernel module management is excellent. Changes made in one version typically work the same in other versions too, which isn't always the case with other distributions. There's also lots of information and community support available if you run into any problems, both on the official website and in forums and user groups. I know many people who use it specifically, so it's easy to get independent support if needed. I've been working with the tool for a long time, since 2003, before they became SUSE Linux Enterprise. It's always been one of the most admin-friendly Linux versions."
"Some of the functionalities I like the most are the security features. This includes security restrictions on specific folders and secure communication for SFTP. These features are more secure and reliable. The tool also makes compliance possible."
"It provides a stable and reliable OS, and I recommended it based on its stability and functionality."
"The tool’s idempotency ensures all configurations are in place at all times."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy."

Cons

"When it comes to improving Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support by SupportedImages, the overall experience has been good for me, but there are a few areas that could be enhanced."
"I would like to see better functionality for interacting with cloud-based systems."
"The solution could be more stable."
"The free software sometimes has security holes and for security reasons I think they need to separate the free software because it's a risk, especially nowadays when we're doing a lot of fortification or strengthening the operating system."
"We previously had trouble integrating Autodesk with the SUSE Manager, but the issue was resolved and improved."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise can be improved by having more documentation or logging systems available on the internet, as we face difficulties troubleshooting issues without sufficient resources."
"They should provide chatbot support for customers to open the troubleshooting cases directly."
"We have had trouble integrating Autodesk with the SUSE manager."
"The interface could improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I have to pay for a license in order to get support."
"When we first implemented this product, we had licenses for support."
"SUSE Linux Enterprise is reasonably priced compared to other operating systems. I find it's a much better option for us than Oracle, for example, because of the pricing structure. The pricing is easier to explain to clients and makes it easier to get clients' commitment. The licensing is also simpler to manage and keep track of. Their responsiveness is great - they give feedback very quickly when we ask questions about licensing or other aspects. This helps ensure we're always at the gold standard regarding licensing and everything related to SUSE Linux Enterprise."
"There is a free tier and a paid support tier. If you do not need support, then the solution is free to use. If you need support then there is an option for that as well."
"The price is reasonable."
"The tool is expensive compared to Red Hat. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"I rate the product price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"As far as licensing goes, there is nothing unusual here. The price and model have worked fine for my organization."
