Automation features and user-friendly interface support seamless communication
Slack is very supportive in terms of communication between my colleagues and clients. While working with the reimbursement feature, I found the automation capabilities on Slack to be incredibly useful, allowing me to automate messages for specific dates or times and even to greet someone on their birthday. I haven't specifically used the channel organization feature of Slack, as I am added to channels, but I use it with Airtable, which automates notifications to a specific Slack channel when a user fills out a form on our website. In my experience, Slack is a stable product for communication, and I appreciate its automation features and integration of AI capabilities for enhancing specific functions.

Cloud-based platform supports seamless collaboration but needs branding flexibility
I have transitioned to using Yammer in the cloud for about six to seven years People share their files and ideas and attend meetings in a collaborative manner. They work on specific sales-related documents. Yammer allows collaboration anywhere, anytime, on any device. Its adaptability and…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its intuitive design makes it easy to use and understand, hence we do not have a need to spend much on educating our teams."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is communication between team members."
"Slack is a very stable product."
"The most valuable feature is that we can easily integrate different workloads and the alerts are reliable. Also because it allows us to use it as a monitoring tool sometimes."
"Nowadays, we don't need to visit an HR portal. Our marketing and human resources teams directly share details about birthdays, upcoming events, and important dates in Slack. Whether it's a training event, a company-wide gathering, or a social event, all the information is shared there. This keeps us all updated."
"I like the tool's ability to send voice mail. We can also search for conversations easily in Slack."
"Slack is a very collaborative tool that makes it easier for me to communicate with the onboarding and billing teams."
"Overall, it is a good idea as it works better than most solutions out there."
"Valuable features include the integration with Microsoft Office and the fact that it is in the cloud. Also, it's quite easy to use."
"Yammer brings in the most relevant posts to the users."
"We can send out notifications and ask questions using Yammer."
"The tool allows us to post and keep track of company buzz and events without relying on email."
"Groups is the most valuable feature in Yammer."
"The posting features are valuable."
"The user interface and the way we can share and search information are the most valuable. It is very easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the communication events."

Cons

"The reason is we are moving towards a new CRM, so we have a suitable solution to integrate with the new CRM."
"It could be more stable than one of its competitors."
"The integration with SharePoint doesn’t work properly."
"For me, the only thing I can say is that every time somebody sent me an attachment, the attachment was listed somewhere, and then I had to open the conversation and go to the individual to open it. So there is no handy repository or an easy way to quickly look at attachments. For me, that was a bit difficult."
"The solution should have less frequent updates."
"I would like to see a special feature for multiple people to collaborate on a document, working on it at the same time."
"Customization is something that Slack is lacking."
"I want a feature in the solution that will help me share documents only with the set of people that I prefer rather than all of them. I would also like the solution to have a feature similar to Microsoft SharePoint where you can group all your documents."
"We tried to integrate into SharePoint, but it was not really efficient."
"Although Microsoft is working on it, having a centralized network instead of creating multiple networks based on a domain would help businesses with multiple companies or child companies."
"The product seems to just add to the complexity of using existing tools."
"Users need to be in the Acting Directory to exploit the features."
"It should have integration with multiple third-party platforms."
"It looks slightly less clean on Chrome compared to Microsoft Edge, but it's a minor difference. There is room for improvement in user experience, like positions of elements."
"The solution must be able to stream by itself, without integration, the same way that you are able to do it on Facebook Live, Instagram, etc. Streaming must be embedded into it."
"I faced some issues with Yammer's mobile app when I shifted from Android to iPhone, and it got a little bit tricky to use it on an iPhone, which took away some of my time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive tool. We pay 15 to 20 USD monthly per user."
"The pricing can range up to about twenty bucks a user. You can spend a lot of money, especially if you're talking about thousands of users. Generally speaking, Slack is less expensive than Teams. Slack doesn't include all the bells and whistles that Teams does. So you can go from a $6 license in Microsoft 365 to a $50 license per user per month, and there's a lot more you can do in the $50 license."
"The solution is cheap in my country."
"We use the free version that does not have a license."
"I would rate the tool's pricing a four out of ten."
"The solution’s pricing is cheap."
"The solution is expensive."
"It is an affordable solution."
"The pricing is not bad."
"Its cost is included in the license bundle for Microsoft."
"Yammer is a pretty cheap solution, and it's included in multiple subscriptions."
"I think that there is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution."
"We get it as part of our Office 365 subscriptions, so I don't think we pay any additional cost for Yammer. It's included in the Office 365 subscriptions."
"Compared to other products like Amazon, Yammer's pricing is fine."
"I don't know about the pricing. Now that Microsoft has bought Yammer, it should be a part of our subscriptions for Office 365."
