Gains control over rule customization and achieves reliable vulnerability assessment
The deployment process took me about 2 or 3 hours to deploy SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube), although I do not remember exactly since it was done about 2 years back. Currently, about 10 of my developers are using SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in my company. I do not have plans to increase the usage of SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in the future as there will not be any requirement to increase. I am a senior software engineer and supervisor at Mozark Medical. My corporate email address is karthik.k.a.r.t.h.i.k.h.a.r.p.a.n.h.a.l.l.i@mozarkmedical.com. Overall, I would rate SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) as a 9 out of 10.

Test assurance improves compliance and products with good performance
The user interface could be improved to facilitate easier navigation. The most significant issue I encounter with the solution is the user interface. It would be beneficial if I could remain on one screen most of the time. Even if the system navigates me to another screen, it should effectively return me to the main screen.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Can tweak rules and feed them into our build pipelines."
"It helps our developers work more efficiently as we can identify things in a code prior to it being pushed to where it needs to go."
"SonarQube ensures that we release a good quality of code to our customers."
"We advise all of our developers to have this solution in place."
"I am only interested in the security features in SonarQube. There are plenty of features other features, such as test coverage, code anomalies, and pointer access are handled by the business logic teams. They get the reports and they have to fix them in JIRA or Bugzilla."
"SonarQube is a Code Quality Assurance tool that collects and analyzes source code and provides reports on the code quality of your project."
"The most valuable feature is the security hotspot feature that identifies where your code is prone to have security issues."
"The solution has helped us mitigate problems in applications before they were a bigger issue."
"CyberFlood's best features are its user-friendliness and scheduling function."
"Our customers use it to check for unauthorized file transfer."
"If any customer doubts their existing network security policy this is a perfect product to analyze their network security and even existing processes."
"The testing compliance feature is particularly impressive."
"The feature I find most valuable is the traffic generator."
"The testing compliance feature is particularly impressive."
"CyberFlood is bundled and basic, but it's still powerful and easy to use, and I would recommend it, especially for beginners."
"The feature I find most valuable is the traffic generator."

Cons

"Ease of use/interface."
"The Python code scan has so few rules that it is meaningless."
"This solution finds issues that are similar to what is found by Checkmarx, and it would be nice if the overlap could be eliminated."
"There are times that we have the database crash. However, this might be an issue with how we have configured it and not a software issue. Apart from this, I do not see any issues with the solution."
"Product is good, but the API documentation is poor, when it exists at all."
"I would also like SonarQube to be able to write custom scanning rules. More documentation would be helpful as well because some of our guys were struggling with the customization script."
"I think the code security can be improved."
"SonarQube's detail in the security could be improved. It may be helpful to have additional details, with regards to Oracle PL/SQL."
"CyberFlood's accessibility and support for multiple browsers could be better."
"I would also like to see updates on a more frequent schedule."
"I would also like to see updates on a more frequent schedule."
"The solution needs more ports, more speed, and more gigabytes."
"Sometimes, when you configure parameters the hardware can't run, it will get stuck at those points without telling you what happened. It would be helpful if the error reporting provided more details about why the test setting is not running. It would be nice if there were a space in the hardware module for you to add some external hardware for more rigorous testing."
"The solution needs more ports, more speed, and more gigabytes."
"The initial setup is not straightforward and can be quite challenging."
"CyberFlood's accessibility and support for multiple browsers could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The current pricing is quite cheap."
"People can try the free licenses and later can seek buying plugins/support, etc. once they started liking it."
"I am using the free version of the solution."
"SonarQube enterprise, I am not sure of the price but from what I understand they are charging a fee. It's is not clear if it is an annual fee or a one-off."
"We have a license with 125,000 lines of code. We did not purchase a lot of lines but it is specific to our code environment."
"The costs for this application, for the kind of job it does, are pretty decent."
"We're using an older version because it is the open-source flavor of it and we can continue using it at no cost. We're not paying any licensing at all, which was another factor in choosing this route so that we can learn and grow with it and not be committed to licenses and other similar things. If we choose to get something else, we have to relearn, but we don't have to relicense. Basically, we're paying no license costs."
"I think comparing the product to competitors it should be less expensive."
"CyberFlood is reasonably priced."
