Integrated security features ensure seamless protection and inspire long-term trust
The reason why I went for Sophos SafeGuard is that it's got every function that I would need for an antivirus or system protection, and another thing that Sophos has done that makes it even more important for me is the synchronized security. There is a policy on my firewall that restricts any system that synchronizes with the endpoint working on all my servers and workstations, and if any system is found to be infected, because it synchronizes with the firewall, the rules drop the packet and alert the IT administrator. Until that system is checked and cleaned, there is no internet access for that system, which alone is a game changer for me. Those developers at Sophos are very innovative, and I don't think they need to improve anything because they are thousands of steps ahead. Before I can think of any feature that should be added, it's already there, and all I get is just a notification that this feature is available, to give it a try and let them know if it is something I want to add. You must understand that every feature comes with a price, not for free. The more features I add, the additions are based on the need; if it's not needed, I am not going to add them.

I like the device control. This solution helps us manage risk. Re-installation kills machines. To remove a machine, you have to perform a full reimage.
The most valuable feature is device control This solution helps us manage risk. I would like to see a better upgrade path and process. There are no major issues with the product, but there are major issues with the local reseller and their ability to support us. We have been using this solution…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is scalable, we have over 500 staff using it."
"The solution is valuable as it offers protection against ransomware, with a feature that allows only three files to be encrypted by ransomware before it automatically revokes the process, and it provides one central console to manage file encryption and disk encryption, where I can manage both features and create templates to apply to other customers."
"With Sophos, I only need to generate the password and give that to a user to be able to allow them to login to the admin page of the Endpoint and do whatever they need to do. The user cannot go ahead and uninstall it. It's kept us much more secure because of this. Should any event happen on a particular system, I'm given the username and the system IP address. I get notifications and can deal with issues right away."
"Overall, Sophos is a great product."
"The product features we find most effective are web filtering and VPN functionalities."
"The product filters phishing emails."
"If you purchase Sophos your data and your network will be secured."
"The intrusion detection system."
"The most valuable feature is device control."

Cons

"If it's possible, they should make all the features available because it's got a lot of features on offer, but you have to buy the license in order to add those features to the normal Endpoint. If they could make all those features available and/or offer a bundling option it would be better."
"Technical support could be a bit better."
"The product's next release could have integration features with different internal and external systems. Sometimes, it doesn't work with Azure."
"As a tool, Sophos SafeGuard is not optimized."
"The product is not cheap."
"Once you lock a server, you won't be able to install or put something on that particular server, but on the PC or machines, the lockdown feature is not there, and it is a query our company raised when we had to provide details for Sophos' review."
"SafeGuard's user interface is ugly and doesn't provide reports, so we have to go into the database and get information from there by creating queries."
"What would make Sophos SafeGuard better than competitors is if its management console also includes firewall management. In the future, I want Sophos SafeGuard to be more scalable."
"Once the solution is installed, it cannot be installed again without killing machines."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It would be great if the price of the solution was lower than the current price. If we are to sell this particular solution to smaller businesses and not just enterprise businesses it needs to be lower."
"We pay around $10 a year for each endpoint, including support."
"Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis."
"Licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing could be better."
"I rate the product price a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect."
"Pricing for Sophos SafeGuard could be improved because it could reach a thousand dollars depending on the product, edition, and software key purchased."
"I rate the pricing two or three on a scale of one to ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
