Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Centralized policies have improved remote endpoint control and have simplified data visibility
The integration is not simple and easy. It requires experienced users or people who have done the implementation. When certain policies are applied, they do not immediately push the policies. For example, we manage endpoint device USB access. We set a policy to block it, but it does not come into effect immediately. Sometimes it takes three or four days for it to reflect. That is a pain point. I have raised this issue with support as well, but they said that I need to limit the number of devices in the policy. In terms of application deployment, for us, it was seamless.

Built faster threat response and improved visibility with real-time monitoring and flexible deployment
TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit. We can quickly see where the attack is coming from. TrendAI Vision One enables us to use different products with a flexible license. For example, if a customer is using endpoint security and wants to switch to another solution, they can instantly use a different Trend Micro product, such as email. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly. With playbook templates, in cases of recurring attacks, responses can be made quickly using predefined playbooks. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce noise from false positives. There have been false positives before, but it was due to the customer not telling us which app they were using. Best practice configurations must be applied properly to avoid such issues. TrendAI Vision One helps customers consolidate the use of security vendors and reduce silos by offering one platform for all product management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that you can select remote access of any machine for sandboxing."
"The tool is easy to use."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The main benefit of using Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks while employing Palo Alto Firewall at the internet edge is that it improves security on our endpoint devices, integrating seamlessly with Palo Alto Firewalls to deliver comprehensive network, analyst, and security details all in a single dashboard, which allows us to manage everything from our network devices."
"Cortex covers everything I need. It's a perfect solution. Cortex provides a different level of visibility because it's an extended EDR, allowing you to grab logs from the network and firewalls. Palo Alto invented the concept of the extended EDR or XDR."
"The initial setup isn't too bad."
"I can highlight that we have not faced any security incidents with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, and even though our environment is quite dynamic, we have not faced any security incident with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks until now."
"I recommend this solution to others because it is easy to manage, reliable, and overall good to use."
"The insights we gain from our endpoints and the management capabilities that Tanium provides have been a boon to our operations and security."
"When I push a quick update, it's done right away, and I can rescan immediately to confirm completion within minutes."
"I find the inventory and compliance features of Tanium to be the most impressive."
"Tanium is used for endpoint management, specifically patching and configuration management."
"The product is granular and can build complex roles compared to other EDR vendors."
"I would say Tanium is the best tool for vulnerability management."
"The security features are very valuable."
"Threat hunting is a very good feature on Tanium. We have just started using it and have not used it extensively."
"I like XDR's workbench feature and observed attack technique. It generates an alert once certain conditions are met. For example, let's say there's a threat called malicious.exe being deployed on your system. It will generate an alert with information like the file path, location, hash, etc. You also see a relational matrix showing how that file was executed and which processes were installed."
"TrendAI Vision One solves these problems by providing greater detection capabilities and automated response across all of these layers."
"We have a business relationship with Trend Micro and I'd advise other organizations to try it out because it's a good, solid product and we have been quite pleased with the overall results."
"Trend Vision One has improved the way our organization functions by acting as both a monitoring tool and an antivirus, giving us insight on potential threats and enhancing our response time to security incidents."
"TrendAI Vision One has positively impacted my organization by specifically helping improve security posture and response time for threat handling, as well as improving our cyber risk score."
"Trend Vision One offers centralized visibility and management across all protection layers, providing a holistic view of our environment and enhancing visibility across the entire infrastructure."
"We can scale the product as needed."
"The most valuable features of Trend Vision One are its capabilities for XDR, EDR, MDR, and NDR, allowing for network detection and response."

Cons

"I don't like that they have different types of licenses. For example, if users select a license, they think they will have all the platforms they need to improve their network or security. But after some time, Palo Alto Networks changed their licensing, and some of the features that, for example, were free at the beginning now have a cost. I think the integration can be improved. For example, a lot of tools are just integrated through APIs."
"It is a complex solution to implement."
"I have run into some detection issues with Cortex XDR. It needs to be better at detection of internal attacks."
"A better pricing plan would make this product more competitive."
"The downsides of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks are that in many incidents, when I enter the causality chain, there are numerous logs."
"It's not an ideal choice for smaller businesses, as you need a minimum of 200 endpoints to even use the solution at all."
"Currently, we are monitoring all USB drives and ports but we would like to improve our device control capabilities."
"The configuration could be simplified. I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"The solution needs to improve the reporting and tracking capabilities."
"Our biggest issue with the solution is its lack of mobility."
"The main issues are the network connection because different customers have issues with their networks. It's difficult implementing this type of solution because the network is the main feature in the architecture for these types of solutions. Tanium could improve by creating some network optimization."
"The most painful thing is the interface. It's a bit unclear sometimes."
"The solution can give a lot of false positives."
"We set a policy to block USB access. The moment a device is being set up on the network, I apply the policy, but it does not come into effect immediately."
"The problem or challenge is a pre-sales and go-to strategy for the SMB market delivered through a channel or model. It's very convoluted and vague, which leads to some confusion about the various types of modules, and the device-to-seat cost is extremely difficult to calculate."
"I would like to have more integrations and custom plugins to input. Integration is always a big deal in a lot of different environments."
"The area for improvement is mobile security. We have just finished a proof of concept for Zero Trust Secure Access. We withdrew from this PoC because it does not have that many points for proxy across Europe. Our organization is across Europe... At this time, they are only located in Germany and the UK."
"Sometimes the CPU utilization is so high that the computer crashes or lags behind."
"It should integrate with more tools. There are a lot of tools that can do the PTP dump."
"The integration with third-party tools and with on-premises Active Directory needs improvement."
"Areas that need improvement in TrendAI Vision One include the AI-based mechanism, AI-based detections, and AI-based autonomous detections, which are currently lacking."
"The agent system is very slow, it needs to improve its performance."
"I believe that the interface could be more user-friendly. At times, it is challenging to locate certain features, and they need to reorganize the user interfaces."
"Integration with other tools and deploying in hybrid environments need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
