We have had challenges staffing internal resources and retaining qualified DBA’s to work on our IT projects. One of the benefits of partnering with Viscosity, is that we can tap into their resources as we need them. It is difficult to staff internally for every kind of skillset and keep those individuals on staff. DBA’s are highly sought and investments need to be made to train them and keep them up to date with evolving technology. By tapping into Viscosity’s resources, we have access to individuals and the skillsets needed. As projects ramp-up and ramp-down, we work with Viscosity to get the right individual(s) for the duration necessary. There are many cases where our organization needs to better understand technologies, options, and industry direction. Viscosity is instrumental in providing us valuable, non-biased feedback, and direction, in order for us to make the appropriate business decisions. Based on Viscosity’s recommendations, we actually decided not to pursue an on-premise custom built system and went with an Oracle Cloud environment. While Viscosity is vendor neutral, they determined that Oracle Cloud was a more appropriate solution for our workload. Viscosity was able to help us understand different vendor offerings and how they would fit into our existing environment and license requirements.
