Reliable lightweight laptop has boosted multitasking for data pipelines and client VDIs
Pros and Cons
  • "When I switched from a Lenovo ThinkPad to a Dell 14 Pro for my present project, the time it took me to complete a task improved significantly."
  • "One thing is that sometimes if I charge and use my Dell Business Laptop continuously for three to four hours, it will heat up."

What is our primary use case?

I have been using Dell Business Laptops for the past five years. During my college, I used a Dell Inspiron 5310, and currently, working at Cognizant, they have provided me a Dell 14 Pro, which I am currently using for my project.

My office Dell Business Laptop, I use for mostly data engineering to build pipelines, to monitor pipelines, to run Python scripts, and using a virtual machine. My personal Dell Business Laptop, I use for learning, coding, creating dashboards for my personal projects, and sometimes entertainment.

What is most valuable?

One of the best features Dell Business Laptops offer is the reliability of this laptop, how lightweight it is, and how easy it is to carry. In my current project, I am using two client VDIs. It allows me to multitask from different VDIs, and it will not cause any heating issues. I can use my laptop continuously for four to five hours without any heating issues.

I appreciate how easy it is to increase the RAM and how easily I can replace the SSD to maintain my work and also extend the working condition of the laptop.

The refresh rate of my Dell Business Laptop is very high. The screen display is quite significantly improved since my previous laptop. The battery capacity is also increased. I used to travel through a cab from my home to office, and when there is an emergency, I used to work while traveling in the cab. If there is almost 60% charging, I can easily work for another one and a half hour to two hours and multitask at the same time.

They are strong and resistant. Once I poured a glass of water on the laptop by mistake, but I could easily clean it with a cloth, and there was no effect on the keyboard or the operating system.

The user interface is straightforward, and anyone who has minimal knowledge on how to use a laptop or how to control these computers can easily switch to Dell Business Laptops and work as soon as possible.

What needs improvement?

One thing is that sometimes if I charge and use my Dell Business Laptop continuously for three to four hours, it will heat up. The cooling of the system takes quite a long time compared to other laptops. Additionally, the cost factor is a consideration, as other company laptops providing similar features are somewhat cheaper than Dell Business Laptops. I think both of these criteria are somewhat drawbacks.

The build quality, the design, and the software's processing are all fine except for the cooling and the price factor.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used a Lenovo ThinkPad, but since it was not durable for my current project and current tasks, I requested a change to another laptop, and they gave me a Dell 14 Pro. Since then, the working of the laptop and the speed at which I am completing tasks have gradually increased significantly.

What was our ROI?

When I switched from a Lenovo ThinkPad to a Dell 14 Pro for my present project, the time it took me to complete a task improved significantly. The amount of time I used to sit in front of the laptop has reduced because of the speed of Dell Business Laptops. It reduced strain in my eyes and allowed me to work on some other personal items and learn new things because of the fast processing of this laptop. I have already got my return on investment, and I am enjoying the profit of this laptop.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing was good, and for my personal Dell Business Laptop, when I bought my Dell, they also gave me a lifetime Microsoft free account, so it was very useful to use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for my projects. It was very cost-friendly for my personal laptop.

What other advice do I have?

One recent task which I am working on with my Dell 14 Pro for work is in my project where we are using legacy systems such as Informatica, and we are transforming it into GCP BigQuery. I am currently developing DAGs which will connect to Redshift, transform data, and load it into BigQuery.

I have two client VDIs on my Dell Business Laptops. Previously, I had another version of a laptop that was not Dell, I believe it was a Lenovo. In that laptop, it did not support multitasking. Later, I requested my team to change my laptop, and they changed it to a Dell 14 Pro. Since then, I can work on my personal Windows and also client VDI without any restriction and no heating issues from the laptop.

In my daily personal use, I use a Dell Inspiron 5310, which I purchased four years ago. It has been good, but I changed the SSD recently because there was a motherboard issue. It was fine for four years.

If I keep a full charge, I can easily work for two to three hours before I need to plug in the charger again, even when I multitask and work on client VDI.

I am not sure of the technical terms regarding the security aspect, but I think in my Dell Business Laptop, the security is quite standard as we are working on client VDI.

I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Remote teams have secured data and reliable performance with strong onsite support
Pros and Cons
  • "My experience with Dell Business Laptops has been very positive; we have been able to give my end users laptops that do the job, provide the performance needed, and come with a sense of pride in ownership, treating them better than traditional work laptops."

What is our primary use case?

We currently focus on two product lines of Dell Business Laptops: the Pro Plus 5000 series and the Pro Max 7000 series.

We are a remote-first workforce with about 3,000 employees that all work from home, and the advantage of using Dell Business Laptops, especially with their ProSupport Plus support, is that we can have Dell support go to any one of our employees' homes to get the laptop fixed on-site without them having to mail it in to us.

With our remote workforce, having Dell security platform on their machines helps us to manage them remotely and keep them secure because we cannot control them inside a controlled environment, and being able to manage that is a huge advantage for us.

This provides flexibility in being able to work from anywhere while still securing our data and our platforms.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Dell Business Laptops are reliability and power.

Dell Secure BIOS protects the BIOS for us remotely so that someone cannot flash a bad BIOS on a machine, which helps us assure that the hardware is secure since we do not get to see everything that our remote workers are doing on the machines.

    What needs improvement?

Increasing power and battery life is always going to be beneficial; our users really appreciate the product and have always had no complaints about it. I would recommend continued innovation with new technologies to provide a better experience overall.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Dell Business Laptops for as long as I have been with the company. I moved to the company about four years ago, and they were Dell Business Laptops when I came in here, so I have no idea how long they have actually been using Dell.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Since switching to Dell Business Laptops, our users have experienced all-day battery life and the power in the platform to do their jobs daily without any stress as far as stress on the machines that keep it from performing.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We are a remote-first workforce with about 3,000 employees that all work from home, and the advantage of using Dell Business Laptops, especially with their ProSupport Plus support, is that we can have Dell support go to any one of our employees' homes to get the laptop fixed on-site without them having to mail it in to us.

How are customer service and support?

I do have experience with the customer support.

I would rate Dell's support about an eight; we often have to send Dell contracted technicians to go fix remote users, and those technicians have been able to respond and quite often fix the issue right away for them.

Dell overall has done a really good job with their sales teams; my internal sales rep has been great at getting me what I need when I need it and providing options during supply chain issues, suggesting new alternatives that still meet our needs and have been very responsive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have not considered any other brands because Dell Business Laptops have done a great job of meeting all the needs for my company.

We have not felt the need to evaluate any others.

    What was our ROI?

Last year, we migrated their Dell Plus line over to the AMD platform chipset, which resulted in cost savings while still providing a great user experience for their work.

We saved about $200 per machine doing that.

What other advice do I have?

My top priorities when selecting laptops for my organization are power, battery life, and also aesthetics; we appreciate the aesthetics.

One of my top priorities is power, because we are a developer company.

I would say that Dell Business Laptops have done a great job of supporting the products that they create; if you want a product that has proven to be reliable and has a great support system, Dell Business Laptops will get you up and running as fast as possible.

My experience with Dell Business Laptops has been very positive; we have been able to give my end users laptops that do the job, provide the performance needed, and come with a sense of pride in ownership, treating them better than traditional work laptops. I would rate this review a 9.

Reliable business laptops have supported long refresh cycles and simplified device management
    Pros and Cons
    • "For both myself and my customers, the best features of Dell Business Laptops are reliability, strong enterprise support, and ease of device management, along with good build quality for long-term use in corporate environments."
    • "One area Dell Business Laptops can improve is pricing, as they can be slightly more expensive compared to other competitors."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Business Laptops is selling straight to end users, as most of our customers consist of buying the Latitude series, which is normally the standard business laptop. For power users such as engineers and developers, we sometimes sell the Dell Precision laptops to them because they provide high performance, but overall, my focus remains on selling to end users.

Most of the users I support with Dell Business Laptops are standard business workers, while for more high-powered users such as engineers and developers, they will use Dell Precision laptops, which come with their own strengths for high performance.

Dell Business Laptops are deployed in my organization on-premise, as we provide laptops to every single new user. When selling, we deliver boxes from a distributor through to the end user, who then receives them all and manages them on-premise, all with asset tags, and they can manually view them.

We are currently looking at various models, but I confirm that I am using the Latitude 5540, a 15.6-inch laptop, while we have other users that use smaller screen sizes, and for high-performance roles such as engineers and developers, they might use Dell Precision laptops.

    What is most valuable?

The positive impact of Dell Business Laptops on my organization and my customers' organizations comes from their reliability, enterprise support, and easy device management, in addition to their build quality. We have many meetings with large enterprises that need assurance they are compatible and work reliably, and I would rate them an eight out of ten for reliability and being well-supported. They last around three to five years in an environment, and the support reduces downtime, allowing you to maintain and keep using your devices, which makes it a great positive for return on investment.

For both myself and my customers, the best features of Dell Business Laptops are reliability, strong enterprise support, and ease of device management, along with good build quality for long-term use in corporate environments. Another factor is the availability of ProSupport with Dell, which helps us resolve hardware issues quickly when they arise.

From an IT perspective, the device management aspect of Dell Business Laptops makes things easier for both me and my customers as they are fairly easy to manage and integrate well with enterprise management tools. The drivers and firmware updates are straightforward, helping keep devices secure and updated without too much effort, allowing us to maintain easily managed monitoring over all of the devices.

    What needs improvement?

One area Dell Business Laptops can improve is pricing, as they can be slightly more expensive compared to other competitors. However, that ties back to my previous point about longevity—while the upfront cost may be higher, they provide a lot more value and return on investment over time. Another improvement could also be in battery life for some of the models, as after a couple of years of heavy use, we see a bit of a downgrade and reduced performance on the battery.

I assess the battery life of Dell Business Laptops in my daily operations as something that needs improvement, especially as I am nearing the end of five years with my device. I have noticed that I have to plug it in more now, and after about ten minutes of use, the battery has decreased by twenty percent, whereas initially, this would have only seen a drop of one or two percent.

Both pricing and battery life are very easy, measurable things for reviewers to consider, noting that with time, you might need to plug in the device more than is necessary. While the price is higher during quoting, the return on investment over a five or six-year period solidifies this advantage since you are not refreshing every two years but rather every five.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Business Laptops for the last two years and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Dell Business Laptops are stable, and their scalability is determined by the environment and infrastructure because there will always be demand for products such as these. We ensure we have sufficient stock and effectively manage distribution to partners and customers, keeping scalability smooth.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Business Laptops are stable, and their scalability is determined by the environment and infrastructure because there will always be demand for products such as these. We ensure we have sufficient stock and effectively manage distribution to partners and customers, keeping scalability smooth.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Dell Business Laptops is really good and reliable, earning a nine out of ten rating for how we evaluate their services, as all products are well-supported.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have always stuck with this solution, and when looking at products, we tend to select the best-in-breed that we house and sell. While there are other less expensive products, we value reliability and enterprise support—which are key advantages for paying a higher upfront cost compared to some competitors.

    How was the initial setup?

Integrating Dell Business Laptops with my existing IT infrastructure is very easy as we run managed MDRs with Arctic Wolf, along with our Microsoft applications, and other tools such as Slack, that work well with our setup.

The procurement of Dell Business Laptops is super easy as we deal through distribution, working from vendor products and looking to sell into our channel partners across the United Kingdom. We engage with all the top channel partners who then procure that through to their end users, whether in private, public sector, or tender bids.

    What about the implementation team?

The laptops allow for easy management by IT staff, as we have our whole SE team that manages asset tagging and centralized management, which makes the management of Dell Business Laptops efficient. Although I do not manage them myself, I know that Kobe and his team recently handled this and had it completed in a couple of minutes.

    What was our ROI?

I see a return on investment with Dell Business Laptops as the money and time saved go hand-in-hand, since keeping the same products reduces the need for a completely different product refresh. By not having to spend money every two years, but rather every five or six, you maintain consistent return on investment and value.

Most PC refreshes or hardware refreshes now look at five to six years, rather than before when we would be looking at two years maximum with different brands.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing reveals that we are tailored to the higher end of the pricing spectrum, but considering the value and return on investment over a few years, it is more favorable to not refresh every eighteen months to two years but rather aiming for five or six years for optimal return.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We assess various competitors across the market when evaluating options, and while looking at all solutions, we remain focused on best-in-breed products. In this case, we ensure we are considering the superior support services and management offered over that of other vendors.

What other advice do I have?

I take my Dell Business Laptop everywhere in my backpack, and despite this daily wear and tear, there is barely any noticeable damage. The device remains very accessible for plugging in wires when connecting to screens, and there is no wear and tear on the side ports.

I am not the technical person, so I would not know about utilizing the security features such as TPM chips and BIOS-level protections on Dell Business Laptops, and when we are selling them, we are simply selling and using them.

The AI-enhanced performance features of Dell Business Laptops, including noise cancellation, high-quality webcams, and fast boot times, have positively influenced my team's productivity levels, especially with Copilot that is very effective when used on the Dell device. The quality of the camera during calls makes my workload run much more smoothly as I do not have to deal with technical issues.

I advise medium to large enterprise organizations looking for reliable products with strong vendor support and long life-cycle management to consider Dell Business Laptops, as I believe they are among the better options available.

Lightweight laptops have enabled revenue‑driven legal work to run reliably throughout the day
    Pros and Cons
    • "My advice to others looking into using Dell Business Laptops is that they should definitely check them out; the product's good, the price is right, and the procurement and delivery, along with all the things, add up to a very well-run program."
    • "Even a small thing that I think Dell could tweak is the docking station experience, which has been a struggle; we do have some older docks that don't work so well with the newer laptops, and it could be very frustrating for attorneys when they plug in and maybe one of their two screens doesn't turn on, which we seem to see quite a bit with the older docking stations."

What is our primary use case?

Dell Business Laptops serve as the primary workstations for our attorneys at Polsinelli.

A specific example of how the attorneys use the laptops in their day-to-day work is that they handle everything on them; they edit documents, they process email, they do research on them. It's how they function, and it's how they make money.

I would add that Dell Business Laptops are their primary driver of revenue for lawyers; lawyers cannot make money without the use of a laptop and technology.

    What is most valuable?

When it comes to the best features that Dell Business Laptops offers, we appreciate them to be light with big batteries for long run time and also to be productive; you don't need the most powerful laptop ever, but a laptop that will function well is important.

The specific features of long battery life and a lightweight design have positively impacted our attorneys' productivity and daily routines, as right now, Dell has a very good product, which has improved their work product and everyday life; these attorneys spend a lot of time in the air, so that's important to have that long battery life.

I would also highlight that Dell Business Laptops are pretty robust and strong for a heavy workload; they seem to hold up very well.

Dell Business Laptops have positively impacted our organization by making it easy on the procurement process; Dell Financing has helped us out, making the logistics involved with ordering Dell probably the best untalked about feature.

The procurement process or Dell Financing has benefited our organization by saving us money because we were leasing with another company, and the structure of the finance program was a much better structure that didn't continue to charge us extra fees, and we didn't have to return the laptops as we would with the other finance structure that we were involved in.

    What needs improvement?

Even a small thing that I think Dell could tweak is the docking station experience, which has been a struggle; we do have some older docks that don't work so well with the newer laptops, and it could be very frustrating for attorneys when they plug in and maybe one of their two screens doesn't turn on, which we seem to see quite a bit with the older docking stations.

I believe I captured all the needed improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have over twenty years of experience working in my current field.

What other advice do I have?

I think that Dell Business Laptops are doing a really good job, and I don't really have any specific example of how they could get better; we are very, very happy with the product and will continue to use Dell Business Laptops so long as they continue to work as well as they do.

I rate Dell Business Laptops overall as a nine out of ten.

I give them a nine and not a ten because there's always room for improvement, and if they were perfect, I probably wouldn't have a job.

We deploy Dell Business Laptops directly, managing them with an on-premises setup.

In my role, I own the budget for laptop procurement.

My top priorities when selecting laptops for my organization are availability, as they must be available, and usability; they must be fit for function for our attorneys.

The specific challenge or need I was trying to address when I chose Dell Business Laptops for my organization is that they are a primary driver of revenue, so we're simply trying to put the best laptop at the best cost in front of our user base.

I chose Dell over the other brands I was considering due to their long history, the support model being great, reliability, and checking a lot of the boxes in the market.

My thoughts on the security features of Dell Business Laptops are that we have all of our own security as well as some of the partners that Dell works with; for us, we are a very high security function, and we have no problems with any of the security, none whatsoever; it's all very good.

My advice to others looking into using Dell Business Laptops is that they should definitely check them out; the product's good, the price is right, and the procurement and delivery, along with all the things, add up to a very well-run program.

My overall rating for this review is nine out of ten.

Cost-focused laptops have delivered solid functionality and have supported large-scale savings
    Pros and Cons
    • "We are saving several hundred dollars per device, and we have purchased roughly 1,000 devices up to this point, so we are definitely saving several thousand dollars."
    • "From an engineering perspective, Dell Business Laptops could be improved by reducing weight, as that is one of the biggest complaints we receive."

What is our primary use case?

My top priorities when selecting laptops for my company are cost, ease of use for the end-users, and functionality.

Dell Business Laptops models I am currently using are the Dell Pro Plus 14 and 16 inch, and the Dell Premium and Dell Pro Max 16 inch.

    What is most valuable?

I would not say any feature specifically stands out in Dell Business Laptops. We did go back to a mid-tier model with Dell to keep it simple, which fits our needs and provides huge cost savings compared to the higher-end models such as the Yoga and the Carbon we had with Lenovo.

My experience with Dell Business Laptops has been good so far, as the experience with the actual company has been great, and their support has been good.

    What needs improvement?

From an engineering perspective, Dell Business Laptops could be improved by reducing weight, as that is one of the biggest complaints we receive. They are heavy machines, but they are beefier machines with a graphics card.

For how long have I used the solution?

My company has been using Dell Business Laptops since we switched back to them in October, after using Lenovo. We used Dell Business Laptops over a decade ago.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would not say anything specific has resulted from switching to these Dell Business Laptops, because most end-users generally do not care as long as it works. The fact that they work and function makes the end-users happy, and they do not have any complaints.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with Dell Business Laptops has been good so far, as the experience with the actual company has been great, and their support has been good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We chose Dell Business Laptops for my company while addressing specific challenges around cost. We were looking at revitalizing cost, and Dell was too competitive to pass up, especially since Lenovo was not able to compete when it came down to cost once we started looking at competitors.

    What was our ROI?

I do not have a specific number on cost savings, but I know there has been substantial savings. We are saving several hundred dollars per device, and we have purchased roughly 1,000 devices up to this point, so we are definitely saving several thousand dollars.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We chose Dell Business Laptops over other brands such as HP and Lenovo because we wanted to have an all-in-one solution. We prefer Dell's desktop solution, especially from an engineering perspective, better than HP's. Most of the reason was cost.

What other advice do I have?

If I were recommending Dell Business Laptops to a peer, I would emphasize that the cost savings is definitely there, and from a functionality standpoint, they function just as well as the Lenovos. The base model of Dell Business Laptops is much nicer and sleeker compared to the base model of Lenovo, which looks very clunky.

I would not say anything specific that Dell Business Laptops have done to support our hybrid workforce from my standpoint, as I do not know if there is anything special they have done different than what Lenovo could do, but it allows people to work remotely and internally. I would rate this review an 8 overall.

Reliable work laptop has boosted multitasking for exam monitoring and team collaboration
    Pros and Cons
    • "Since using Dell Business Laptops, I have noticed significant improvements in productivity as, compared to my previous HP laptop that lagged a lot, everything with Dell Business Laptops runs smoothly during team meetings on Teams without any issues."
    • "Although the battery may not support long hours, usually about two to three hours during a five to six-hour shift, the benefits of its features outweigh its flaws, including occasional heating issues."

What is our primary use case?

I have been using Dell Business Laptops, specifically the Dell Pro 14 Premium, as a daily work machine at my work for around six months.

My main use case for Dell Business Laptops involves monitoring various classes while getting my pay for monitoring students taking exams, which requires me to have multiple tabs open continuously, as it takes quite a bit of time to complete one exam for a student, and I also need to make different Excel sheets and documents after each exam has been completed.

The monitoring process we use includes working from Google Meet with a special interface connected to classroom cameras, guiding students to designated classrooms, and maintaining an Excel sheet for attendance and performance. We manually fill the Excel sheets, splitting tasks among our large team of four to five people, and I can say that Dell Business Laptops handles multitasking very easily as we frequently switch between monitoring tasks and Excel.

Before the workday begins, we have a meeting with our team on Teams to organize our tasks, and everything works well when I use this laptop.

    What is most valuable?

The best features of Dell Business Laptops that stand out to me are the RAM and SSD, as having flexible RAM is beneficial for smoothly running new software we consider for monitoring without delays, which supports us even if we move into a new environment.

The smooth performance of Dell Business Laptops allows me to switch between applications very quickly with Alt-Tab, saving considerable time, as other laptops previously caused me disruptions with lag and frequent loading issues.

Since using Dell Business Laptops, I have noticed significant improvements in productivity as, compared to my previous HP laptop that lagged a lot, everything with Dell Business Laptops runs smoothly during team meetings on Teams without any issues.

The SSD does impact our workflow, though I am not sure much about it technically. However, RAM flexibility is important because we need ample RAM to run the system smoothly; less RAM results in noticeable glitches.

I find this laptop very interesting with its good storage and durability, as I handle it roughly and have dropped it a couple of times, yet it works fine. The display quality is excellent, and although the battery may not support long hours, usually about two to three hours during a five to six-hour shift, the benefits of its features outweigh its flaws, including occasional heating issues.

    What needs improvement?

Improvements for Dell Business Laptops could include better battery life, resolving heating issues, and possibly addressing pricing as similar models from competitors are available at lower prices, with seasonal discounts being appreciated.

In future models of Dell Business Laptops, I would like to see complimentary software benefits such as Excel or Microsoft 365 instead of having to pay for them, which I believe could increase demand for these laptops.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for around five months, and if I were to include this one as well, it is six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The smooth performance of Dell Business Laptops allows me to switch between applications very quickly with Alt-Tab, saving considerable time, as other laptops previously caused me disruptions with lag and frequent loading issues.

Dell Business Laptops are very stable, and although I initially considered a MacBook, I preferred the access and flexibility of Dell Business Laptops option.

Since using Dell Business Laptops, I have noticed significant improvements in productivity as, compared to my previous HP laptop that lagged a lot, everything with Dell Business Laptops runs smoothly during team meetings on Teams without any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe we deploy Dell Business Laptops in a hybrid cloud environment.

Initially, we used Azure for our hybrid cloud setup, but when I joined the team, we switched everything to AWS.

How are customer service and support?

I have not reached customer support personally, but one of my teammates faced an issue and praised the customer support for being very helpful in guiding him, which makes me believe it is really good.

Customer support is really good as one of my teammates experienced quick assistance with his laptop issue, leading me to believe that their support is dependable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Initially, I used an HP laptop that lagged constantly, causing significant frustrations when running multiple applications which often led to the laptop not responding; switching to Dell Business Laptops resolved all these issues.

    How was the initial setup?

We manually fill the Excel sheets, splitting tasks among our large team of four to five people, and I can say that Dell Business Laptops handles multitasking very easily as we frequently switch between monitoring tasks and Excel.

Before the workday begins, we have a meeting with our team on Teams to organize our tasks, and everything works well when I use this laptop.

    What about the implementation team?

I think we have a sort of reseller relationship with the vendor as we just buy the products from them without being partners.

    What was our ROI?

I find this laptop very interesting with its good storage and durability, as I handle it roughly and have dropped it a couple of times, yet it works fine. The display quality is excellent, and although the battery may not support long hours, usually about two to three hours during a five to six-hour shift, the benefits of its features outweigh its flaws, including occasional heating issues.

Since using Dell Business Laptops, I have noticed significant improvements in productivity as, compared to my previous HP laptop that lagged a lot, everything with Dell Business Laptops runs smoothly during team meetings on Teams without any issues.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I find the pricing of Dell Business Laptops to be slightly on the pricier side since my organization deducts the cost from my salary, but I think the features justify the price, though licensing costs seem a bit high.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Dell Business Laptops are very stable, and although I initially considered a MacBook, I preferred the access and flexibility of Dell Business Laptops option.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Dell Business Laptops a nine out of ten.

The reason for a nine instead of a ten is mainly due to heating issues, pricing concerns, and battery life, but I still consider nine a good score because of the laptop's overall smooth performance and support for multiple applications.

I am using the Dell Pro 14 something, but I do not exactly remember the complete model name.

Although I do not know much about TPM chips, we utilize a fingerprint for two-factor authorization to log in securely and update classroom-related documents, and I think it is a good feature.

The AI-enhanced performance features, including the camera quality, which I find better than my phone, greatly influence our productivity, making meetings smoother and providing a sense of connectivity among team members.

I find Dell Business Laptops really good and I highly recommend it; I have already encouraged my family to buy it based on my experience, and none of them have regretted their purchase.

I assess the dependability of Dell Business Laptops as perfect in terms of handling daily wear and tear, as I have dropped it several times without facing any issues. My rating for Dell Business Laptops is nine out of ten.

Consistent performance and proactive support have simplified long‑term device management
    Pros and Cons
    • "Working with Dell Business Laptops in general is a hassle-free experience, especially their maintenance and support page."
    • "Compared to Mac, the Dell speakers are not the best on the market."

What is our primary use case?

I usually use Dell Business Laptops for work purposes because it is not very common to have them at home for personal use. Most people either use a Mac or Chromebook for studying purposes. My personal computer was a Dell XPS, and the first one I bought was in 2020. Ever since, I have been using Dell XPS.

Dell Business Laptops allow for easy management by IT staff, and they are very convenient and lightweight. It depends on the make, brand, model, and certain resources being used, but for me, speaking about the XPS model, it is very lightweight and compact. Dell XPS stands out compared to other brands in the market.

Working with Dell Business Laptops in general is a hassle-free experience, especially their maintenance and support page. The easiest thing is I can find my product, product tag, or serial number on the support website, which is very unique. Some other brands do not have the same feature, as you have to install software to detect your hardware. On the Dell support website, it is very convenient to type in or punch in the tag or serial number of my computer, and it automatically pulls up my hardware information. I have been dealing with the warranty services and the Dell tech line, and they have been very helpful, which is very unique.

    What is most valuable?

The dependability of Dell Business Laptops does impress me in terms of their handling daily wear and tear. There is basically nothing special about day-to-day activity, but if someone has a laptop, it should serve its purpose. What stands out are the certain tweaks and features when you essentially need them. A laptop is a computer, but what stands out are the tweaks and things that are there when you need them. For example, the support, just getting the drivers and your computer drivers, and getting information about even the piece of hardware that you are using and how convenient it is to pull up all the information, all the repair history of this device, and also the warranty duration and all those things from the website is very convenient. I have had several other laptops, and I can say it is not as easy as it is with Dell Business Laptops, especially when it comes to support solutions.

My impression of the ProSupport service provided by Dell is that they have been very proactive. I actually did not deal with Dell support for the past four years. Before that, when I was in New York, if we reported a hardware issue, we would almost get it returned the same day, as they would pick it up the same day almost. For the past three years, I have not had any issues, fortunately.

    What needs improvement?

I think Dell needs to produce more with touchscreens. The XPS model that I have has only one edition that has the touchscreen. Seeing more convertible laptops would be an added asset for Dell, especially the XPS model that I am currently using.

From the features perspective, there are not really any missing features that I would like to see included in Dell Business Laptops in the future. I also would suggest, although I do not know how that could be done, that the speakers could be enhanced. Compared to Mac, the Dell speakers are not the best on the market. I know it has to do with the pricing and everything, but if I were to suggest something, that would be one of the things to look into and enhance.

For how long have I used the solution?

Throughout my career, I have been using Dell Business Laptops for around ten to twelve years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding the stability and performance of Dell Business Laptops, I have had no crashes, downtimes, or any performance issues with them. If it was not a hardware failure, which we usually just contact support about and then get it replaced, we have almost none or zero issues with the system itself. Other than hardware defects, which we always replaced as soon as possible, I have had no other issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would describe the ease of integrating Dell Business Laptops within the existing IT infrastructure as something I have not found any difficulties with, fortunately. For the past four or five years, we actually migrated from using Lenovo and HP. We recently migrated to all Dell computers, not only laptops, but also desktop computers. I had a ThinkPad and I replaced it with a Dell. Luckily, ever since, it has been integrated very well. I have not found any difficulties with that at all.

How are customer service and support?

I would evaluate the customer service and technical support teams of Dell as very helpful, and we did not have to wait in a queue to get an agent. They are always available. Their virtual assistant, which was recently published in the last year or so, is very helpful as well.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I decided to go with Dell Business Laptops mainly because of the cheaper price. We got a better offer working with Dell. Also, their return service and maintenance service were phenomenal. That is why we preferred to rely basically on Dell Business Laptops. We still have some HP and Lenovos, but the main infrastructure and the main computers and laptops are Dell.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Dell Business Laptops was pretty easy, and one of the reasons we considered Dell is that their BIOS settings have the ability to manage and deploy the BIOS settings through YAML files, which was very convenient for us. When we purchased, for example, two hundred units or one hundred units, and we had to set the BIOS password and adjust the BIOS settings, we did not have to set it one by one. We could just fire up all the computers and then push the BIOS settings through our network. That was fairly easy for the initial deployment, and I would say Dell stands out in this aspect.

    What was our ROI?

I have not seen any measurable benefits in terms of return on investment, cost saving, time saving, or efficiency improvements with Dell Business Laptops. That is more of an economical question, which I am not really aware of. It also has to do with the geographical place and has so many measures to take into consideration, including inflation. Fortunately, it has not been a challenge for at least the past three years. Things might change because of the whole crisis going on in the Middle East, but fortunately, it has stayed as it is.

What other advice do I have?

The technical support and customer service team of Dell Business Laptops deserve a rating of eight or nine on a scale of one to ten, where ten is the highest.

There is no specific piece of advice or recommendation that I may share with other organizations considering Enterprise laptops on my mind right now, but in terms of just hardware enhancements, I would suggest the convertible editions and touchscreens and also enhancing the speakers. My overall rating for this review is nine out of ten.

Laptops have supported mobile legal work and save time with strong battery life and pro design
    Pros and Cons
    • "We have had a better partnership with Dell, and the sales representatives and everyone involved has been better to work with than the other brand we previously used."
    • "Battery life could even be improved from where it is currently."

What is our primary use case?

We predominantly use Dell Business Laptops over desktops, and that is what everybody carries around to get their work done. Our primary uses include email and web browsing. As attorneys, our team keeps track of their time by the minute. There is nothing too unique involved with their normal daily routine. Dell Business Laptops serve as the daily driver that everybody needs to get their work done.

How has it helped my organization?

We have developed a better partnership with Dell, and the sales representatives and everyone involved has been better to work with than the other brand we previously used. We are able to get things done at a faster pace. In my support role, I hear that they function better on a day-to-day basis.

    What is most valuable?

Currently, we are on the 14 Pro Premium, and the weight has been a good benefit, along with the battery life. Not having to carry around a charger is more important than other features. This is probably the most important thing, especially when people are traveling or at events such as conventions where constant charging would be inconvenient.

The collaboration touchpad has been a nice feature and is an addition this year. There was a decent speed jump between the last model and this one. The laptops look better in general. Working with attorneys, they want something that looks professional when taking it to a client's office, and Dell Business Laptops fit that bill. Battery life has been a good benefit for our team, whether they are supported in the office or working from home while traveling.

    What needs improvement?

Dell Business Laptops could probably be thinner, more in line with the XPS line. Battery life could even be improved from where it is currently. Non-soldered memory and more user-replaceable items would be great improvements. The laptops this year were a bump up in performance compared to previous years.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been doing support for about 21 years and have been with Polsinelli for 19 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    There are no stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    There are no scalability issues.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is overall pretty good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have had a better partnership with Dell, and the sales representatives and everyone involved has been better to work with than the other brand we previously used.

    How was the initial setup?

    What about the implementation team?

There were no issues with setup cost and licensing. Pricing could always be better.

    What was our ROI?

I do not have specific details, but I am positive there are fewer tickets entered on the current model. This is definitely saving money, especially when considering that our attorneys are billing by the minute.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There were no issues with setup cost and licensing. Pricing could always be better.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also looked at Lenovo and HP.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise anyone to look at all their options, and if Dell Business Laptops would work for them, I definitely would not have any complaints to give them. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.
