| Sales Manager at MCS | 3.5 | As a partner and reseller, I find ExaGrid EX to be a cost-effective solution, though it lacks advanced features and automation, making it more suitable for users managing daily manual tasks rather than relying on automation. |
| IT specialist at Volkswagen de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. | 5.0 | I used ExaGrid EX for data loss prevention in an Oracle database. Its most valuable features were the Veeam capabilities and Landing Zone. However, I felt the web access could be improved. I didn't consider other solutions or cloud providers. |
| IT Manager at HERSHNER HUNTER, LLP | 5.0 | I rate ExaGrid EX 10/10 for my primary backup target. Its pricing, performance, and stability are excellent. Setup was simple, and support handles updates. I only wish to see free disk space information. |
| Technology Sales Director at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees | 4.5 | I find ExaGrid flawless, offering easy deployment, excellent scalability, and faster backup/restore times with great Veeam compatibility. It's a definite purchase, providing significant improvements over previous solutions and strong ROI. |

I find ExaGrid EX to be a useful solution for customers looking for a budget-friendly product. However, I note that it does not have as many features compared to the competitors at that time, and the product's positioning is not that clear.
For ExaGrid EX, I would appreciate additional features such as backup and restore, automation processes, and automation software for backup and restore processes. I mention that some additional features may be provided by VMware or Dell as support for the hardware they are selling, but ExaGrid EX is more of a budget-friendly solution for customers who are in charge on a daily basis of the solution itself, dealing with manual tasks rather than automated tasks.
I am not in a situation to provide an exact answer for what I would specifically improve in this regard.
I would prefer another way to provide support; sending all the questions in an Excel sheet or a Word file would allow me to answer them in a couple of hours and send them back.
I have no problem remaining anonymous in my published review, and it can be published without issue.
I expect some benefit from publishing the review itself; I just want to ensure how I would help while receiving a benefit as well.
On a scale of 1-10, I rate ExaGrid EX a seven out of ten.
ExaGrid EX was very helpful because I had a lot of issues with the original storage, which was HPE StoreOnce.
The most valuable features of ExaGrid EX are the Veeam features and Landing Zone.
The solution’s web access should be improved.
I have been using ExaGrid EX for five months.

I use ExaGrid EX as a primary backup target.
Both the pricing and the performance are excellent.
I don't have any issues with this solution at all. In my use case, there is nothing I would change about it.
They continue to do more with regards to usability, and then security around ransomware. That is what their recent improvements have been. They redid the code a little bit to make sure that it was more resistant towards crypto or cyberattacks, and ransomware.
I would like to see free disk space.
I purchased ExaGrid EXI four years ago and have been using it ever since.
Since purchasing the version, I have not upgraded it.
The stability of ExaGrid Ex is excellent. If I had to rate it, I would give it a ten out of ten.
ExaGrid EX is very scalable.
We are a small law firm, with approximately 50 users.
It is easy to maintain because the technical support takes care of the updates. They monitor it and if there is ever an issue they will contact me.
The only issue that I have ever had, they contacted me to notify me that there was a bit of a problem and suggested that I update the code.
The initial setup was super simple.
The solution can be maintained and updated by just one person.
For the most part, all I need to do is rack it, plug it in, and configure it. In less than an hour, we had it up and running.
The renewal fee is approximately $3,500 to $3.750 for a 60 terabyte device.
I purchased a 60 terabyte device from them.
I would definitely have a look at this solution. Get it installed by support when you purchase it, and they take care of everything.
I have nothing but good things to say about this solution.
I would rate ExaGrid EX a ten out of ten.
Shorter backup/restore windows let us use our backup servers more efficiently. Our tech guys spend half the effort (time) compared to before. We don't need to migrate data each time when we upgrade our controller, because the system will scale-out.
Basically nothing at all. ExaGrid works flawlessly.
One and a half years.
Very easy deployment, plug and play. When you add another node to the grid, you don't have to do anything.
No stability problems encountered.
Scalability is one of the strengths of ExaGrid. You can go up to 25 nodes without any problem.
Eight out of 10.
Technical Support:Nine out of 10. We had a direct technical contact.
EMC Data Domain. It's so slow and can't scale-out.
Not at all, just plug and play.
We use our own resources.
Backup and restore processes are much shorter now, and we don't need forklift upgrades every three to four years. Easy to scale-out by adding another node. Also 100% Veeam compatibility.
The price may be a concern for SME customers. Enterprise customers would pay to achieve high performance and scalability that EMC Data Domain can't provide.
Yes, EMC Data Domain, HPE StoreOnce.
ExaGrid is a definite purchase.
