What is our primary use case?
All our computers are locked for administrative purposes, so nobody can install anything. However, we provide freedom to our users to install software when the IT team is not present. This is important because we operate globally and cannot always be online to assist. We give them a privilege for five minutes to install software, which we record and review the following day to ensure compliance with our conditions. This approach allows users to install software in our absence while maintaining accountability.
What is most valuable?
The most effective feature for managing access controls is accountability. We give users responsibility, so if they install anything dodgy, it breaches our procedure and policy of not installing illegal software on personal computers. It gives users responsibility, accountability, and freedom at the same time. Additionally, Heimdal Privileged Access Management is efficient, lightweight, and super efficient compared to other solutions, allowing us to manage various software types seamlessly.
What needs improvement?
I haven't found any issues with the solution currently; it can effectively handle everything we've encountered. It would be beneficial if they could further integrate AI features for automatic learning and reduce alert frequency. Making the solution lighter while improving scanning and threat management efficiency could enhance it. However, Heimdal is responsive to our feedback and often works on updates quickly.

There were no deployment issues. The whole project, including configuration, took about two days.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of Heimdal Privileged Access Management as eight or nine out of ten. It is a stable solution, and we haven't encountered significant issues.

I would rate the scalability as eight or nine. The solution is quite scalable and suits our needs well.

Technical support is excellent. They respond immediately when we open a ticket, and as far as I know, they provide prompt assistance.

We previously used a third-party software from Sophos called Privilege Manager, but it was bulky and inefficient compared to Heimdal Privileged Access Management.

The initial setup was straightforward. The solution learns our habits over time, resulting in fewer alerts.

We have seen ROI in terms of cost savings and efficiency. Previously, the antivirus was bulky. Heimdal Privileged Access Management is lightweight and super efficient, offering better performance.

I do not recall the exact pricing, as it involved multiple changes during renewals. I haven't compared the price with market options.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
A friend recommended Cylance, which is integrated with AI and automatic machine learning, but it lacked many features present in Heimdal Privileged Access Management.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the overall solution as eight out of ten. Adding more AI integration and automatic learning could bring it closer to a perfect score. However, Heimdal Privileged Access Management is already working on improvements.
