Any configuration or feature flagging that needs to be enabled is easier when externalized, significantly reducing the cutover and deployment time for the continuous deployment of the applications.

The best features that stand out for me in IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management are its integration with the GCP platform, especially the KMS feature for supporting customer-managed keys, along with the authentication and authorization capabilities using service accounts in cloud-native applications. Its integrations with GCP, such as GCS buckets for file and object authentication and authorization, work very well for us.

I would appreciate some AI intelligence features in IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management for real-time alerting regarding configuration issues or indentations when integrating with cloud-native applications. Having this intelligence integrated with monitoring tools like GCP Monitoring or Grafana would be beneficial.

For improvements, I would suggest integrating IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management with popular LLM technologies, whether it's from AWS, GCP, or Azure, while introducing AI and ML for AIOps to enhance preemptive and proactive alerting and monitoring during the application lifecycle or continuous deployment stages.

From a user experience perspective, having interactive dashboards that provide application-specific suggestions to improve quality and configurations would be helpful. If IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management could offer auto-suggestions on improving secrets and application configurations through its UI dashboards, it would greatly benefit users.

Regarding the accuracy and reliability of outputs from IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management, it has not been consistent, indicating a need for better harnessing of inputs and outputs to optimize AI capabilities.

One area I would improve in IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management is the overall reporting and visibility experience. It would be useful to have more out-of-the-box dashboards for access patterns, policy compliance, and secret life status without needing as much customization.

IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management has been stable and reliable in our day-to-day use. We have not had major availability issues, although stability still depends on how the Vault infrastructure is configured and maintained.

Larger environments can use performance replication for additional regional scale. From our operational perspective, the main thing is planning architecture and storage properly as usage grows, as scaling is not simply a matter of adding more servers for every type of workload.

The documentation is also strong, so we can resolve many routine issues ourselves, but more complex cases can sometimes take a little longer to troubleshoot.

Before HashiCorp, we mainly relied on Azure Key Vault along with some application-level secret storage. We moved to HashiCorp because we needed more consistent secret management across our Azure and on-premises environments, along with dynamic credentials and broader integration options.

Using Entra ID helps with identity authentication while Kubernetes integration allows applications running in containers to authenticate to Vault and retrieve their authorized certificates, thereby reducing hardcoded credentials, improving access control, and making secret management more consistent across deployments.

Operational efficiency benefits we have observed after adopting IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management along with Azure include saving time by automating credential creation, rotation, application onboarding, and manual secret updates. We have enabled ourselves to save about 8 to 10 hours per month for a small set of applications.

From my experience, one of the best features that IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management offers is that the entire lifecycle of IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management includes several capabilities such as the provision to store secrets and credentials, as well as handling credential lifecycle management, focusing on identity-based access, and supporting service networking and Vault Radar which helps us identify exposed secrets in Git repositories. Along with a CI/CD pipeline, it is straightforward and helps us authenticate and retrieve only the credentials required for the deployment step, and all these features have really helped us a lot.

In terms of the features such as identity-based access, credential management, and integration with CI/CD pipelines, credentials management has made the biggest difference for my team, especially since sometimes things go out of scope and tend to store some scripts.

Regarding the CI/CD pipeline, the pipeline can be authenticated and only a legitimate user or an authenticated user can do the deployment or build step, which reduces the need to hardcode secrets in repositories or scripts while still ensuring safe handling of tokens, clear permissions, expiry, renewable behavior, and overall protection against secrets in logs.

With respect to cloud platforms, IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management supports cloud and hybrid environments, but each integration requires the correct identity configuration, network access, permissions, and monitoring. One consistent policy IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management has followed helps reduce fragmented practices across teams but does not eliminate the need to design and test each cloud integration separately, resulting in a really good cloud solution platform overall.

In terms of IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management's fit within our Azure architecture, it integrates well with Azure Entra ID.

In terms of areas for improvement in IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management, I believe making application onboarding repeatable, improving troubleshooting guidance for policy and authentication failures, and providing clear cost forecasting as the service grows would be beneficial.

The reason for my eight rating is that there are areas IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management can improve, particularly regarding integration capabilities and customer support. There are certain improvements needed for support and recovery procedures, along with better and cleaner documentation and community resources being really useful.

Regarding IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management's AI capabilities in governance and security, I believe the data is well secured and governed under regional security and data breach policies, especially across India, US, and UK.

When it comes to accuracy and reliability of IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management's output, I find accuracy to be good but not very good. With respect to reliability, one can depend on it for very good features regarding application authentication and credential lifecycle management that have been provided for years.

IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management is deployed on the cloud in my organization, and we generally use Microsoft Azure as our cloud provider.

I have been using IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management as we dedicate it to HashiCorp Vault. We have dedicated our CyberArk instances where the CyberArk instances connect to HashiCorp Vault and are able to manage those secrets via the IAM role-based setup. We have an extended solution called Secrets Hub that will be connecting towards HashiCorp Vault. Whatever secrets HashiCorp Vault has can be managed through CyberArk after we onboard. There is a sync policy whenever CyberArk rotates the password and the new password is automatically updated towards HashiCorp Vault.

My main use case for IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management is that application teams are using HashiCorp Vault and they have hard-coded credentials into the HashiCorp directories or the containers. Those containers need to be managed from compliance and auditing perspectives. They reach out to our team, and as the CyberArk PAM lead in my current role, I integrate HashiCorp Vault with CyberArk with the help of the Secrets Hub instance. After integration, we onboard all those secrets that need to be managed through CyberArk. After onboarding, we can configure the frequency for rotation of those secrets. Based on the availability of platform native to that particular secret, it can rotate the password. After it rotates the password, it gets updated towards the HashiCorp Vault side on the instance level.

Regarding the integration process with IBM HashiCorp Security Lifecycle Management, there are two ways of integrating with HashiCorp Vault: one is token-based and another one is API role-based. Role-based is more flexible and that is the standard approach. Token-based is risky because if somebody is able to grab that token, the token can be misused, which is a point of risk.
