We used the product in a POC that was related to a file transfer from another cloud to our private environment.
This is a risk management tool, and these files were related to the risk management tool and related to reports.

We're a worldwide company, and some of the countries don't have access to the internet. It was very good to distribute the files inside of our network as this is very important to us. In the end, with this solution, it was very easy to perform this goal.
The interface, configuration, and integration were all good features. It is very easy to use. The integration in particular is very good.
We could assess the files from our laptops. We assessed the files through the portal. We have the files wherever we want and that was the goal of this POC.
Technical support was great.
The customization capabilities are excellent.
It is very good at file storage.
The product is easy to set up.
It's a scalable solution.
The solution offered everything we needed. It was not lacking features.
The pricing could be better.
The security could always be modernized.
We've used the solution over the last year. We used it for a POC. It was for about three months.
While in our last project, there was no need to scale. That said, in previous projects, it could scale. We had 200 to 300 people on the solution across several countries. Just regular agents would use the solution.
Support has been great. We are very pleased with their level of responsiveness. Microsoft really cares about its products.
Positive
We did not previously use any other product.
It was always very easy to implement. The self-storage was connected to a logic app and the part of the logic app was tricky to configure. However, in the end, after the learning path was completed, it was very easy.
The file storage was always very easy to connect to the old tools that we needed to complete the POC.
The deployment itself was very quick.
In terms of an implementation strategy, the goal of the POC was to transfer files from a third-party company to our internal network. We implemented several file storage items for each country and we distributed the files that came from the third-party company to all of them.
We have a team of five that can handle maintenance, however, only one engineer is really needed.
We handled the deployment and POC in-house.
We have seen an ROI. It's helped us with sharing files across countries and made it very easy.
I don't have any visibility on the price of the product. Someone else handled that aspect. However, my understanding is it could be lower.
We did evaluate other options. We only use Microsoft products.
We're a partner.
I'm no longer using the solution as I have finished the POC process.
The solution works very well. I would recommend the solution to others.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
We use the solution for file migration services to Azure.
The solution manages our file storage. It is a server and different users access it when they need files.
In general, it is a good service for file storage and maintaining your files in order.
They can improve the ability to assign permissions to different groups or users.
We have been using this solution for a long time.
The solution is stable.
It is a scalable solution.
The setup was easy. When implementing, it is important to pay attention to the volume of data and different requirements for the synchronization of data.
I rate this product a nine out of ten.
We use this solution for storing our log data from SIM. We store our files and map our server to have an archive on all the logs generated for SIM.
The storage in this solution is excellent.
We don't have anything that we would improve. We are happy with how it has worked and have not encountered any challenges.
We have been using this solution for five years.
It is a stable product, and we have had no issues or incidents.
It is a scalable solution, and we have about 500 users with 250 in each office using Microsoft Azure File Storage daily.
If the file is large, there may be a delay in download time.
We have not used any other cloud solution.
Our costs are only related to space, and the price is comparable to other competitive solutions. Customers always want to pay less too.
I rate the product a ten out of ten. I would recommend file storage because there are no issues. It is simple, easy, and stable. It is suitable for medium-sized and enterprise companies.
I primarily use the solution for my backup files. It's for copies. I use it as a backup that connects with the cloud and one account of Microsoft.
The solution is very secure.
It's very fast and connects quickly between my files and the cloud.
It was easy to set up.
The solution is stable.
I find the product to be scalable.
Next year, I will likely change my equipment to update everything. That would be better.
It's not very intuitive. I'd like the screen to be more user-friendly. The usability is not good.
I've been using the solution for three years.
It's a stable product. I haven't dealt with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable.
The solution scales well. It's not a problem.
We have around 50 people using the solution.
Technical support has been good. It's very fast. I've been happy with it.
The setup itself is straightforward. It's not difficult to implement.
I'm not sure of the exact pricing. I'd have to look at the sales documentation to refresh my memory.
We're a Microsoft reseller.
I am not sure if I am using the latest version of the solution.
I'd recommend the solution to others.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.
The product is primarily used for the file server. You can have the complete infrastructure including the repository and access control as well. People can use offline data if they like.
As an example, there is a company we work with that has different offices across the world - in Europe, the UK, UAE, and India - and they want around 100,000 customers as well as employees to access their file system. That file system was built on-prem, however, they have multiple challenges in terms of having delays in accessing the files. For security reasons, they are not able to manage the identity on Active Directory for all the locations. They want a complete advanced and modern authentication to be used, like multifactor cloud app security, and advanced start production, et cetera. That is not possible on-prem. Therefore, they have decided to go for Azure file sharing - a cloud-based file system. They use the three locations in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
These three locations have a file-sharing system enabled that replicates their on-prem storage and people can access all the data over the cloud storage, which easily replicates across the locations. Whatever file(s) people are accessing frequently will be shown via an AI-based pattern so that admins can see which file(s) are being used the most. The system will make it easier to access those most-used files while keeping users and the system safe within the system.
The overall solution is great. There isn't really a specific standout feature.
We appreciate how you can customize the service. There are multiple options. You can use the modern authentication that has developed a good IP, for example.
You can access what you need from anywhere, anytime, from your personal device, from your office et cetera. Users have great flexibility in terms of access without sacrificing security.
The stability is good.
The solution can scale to fit any requirement.
The solution should support all the legacy storage systems.
They should make it easy to migrate in one click.
In terms of storage and latency, it should be more optimized.
The Microsoft File System should support all the regions.
Some customers want to use SharePoint instead of File Share. SharePoint offers one terabyte of storage for an organization, and for small or medium organizations, this size is good enough to store their files. However, Microsoft should also think of very small organizations that might only have 10 or 20 users spread across the world. It would be ideal if they had some sort of file share system designed for their much smaller needs.
I've used the solution for the last four or so years so far.
So far, I haven't had any issues with stability. I haven't witnessed any bugs or glitches and I don't find that it crashes and freezes. It's reliable.
The scalability has been great. There's no limit on the scale in terms of storage and in terms of infrastructure it's good enough. No matter the size of the company, it shouldn't be a problem to scale and meet its needs.
I have not used the technical support personally, so I cannot say from personal experience, however, it is my understanding that it is merely okay.
I'd describe it as average. Unless you have a premium service from Microsoft they will respond fast, and normally it takes a lot of time and it goes to a very basic support level. That's not just for this solution. that's the basic assumption for any Microsoft support for any product. If you have subscribed for the premium services, professional services, then it will be better.
The solution's initial setup contains a moderate amount of complexity. I can't say it's easy. I cannot say it's complex. However, if people know the solution, they likely have a good idea of the product and what to expect. It's not very hard, but, again, when you can go and set up, especially if it's a big infrastructure environment, you have to understand the storage and the network and to know the framework you are working in.
The pricing is okay, however, it's quite a bit higher compared to AWS.
You only pay for storage. However, if you think you might need support, and you want better support options, you may need to pay for the premium Microsoft support services.
We are a Microsoft partner.
While I only use the cloud deployment, it can be integrated with any on-premises solution as well.
I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.
It's been a pretty good solution so far.
The product is a reliable cloud solution. Its performance and ease of use are good.
The tool needs to be more intuitive.
Also, the product name keeps changing. It can be confusing when product names change frequently, especially with Microsoft. Sometimes, if you refer to a product by a certain name last year, it might have a different name six months later.
I have been using the product for 2 to 3 years.
I rate the product's stability an eight out of ten.
I didn't face any issues with the solution's scalability. My company has 1000 users who use it extensively.
The tool's support is not bad if you have a premium contract.
Microsoft Azure File Storage's deployment is not complex.
I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten. If you're considering using it, I'd say it's a reliable product. However, in terms of costs, it's important to plan to avoid unexpected expenses. Each solution has its strengths and weaknesses. Depending on your specific needs, you may find one solution better suited than another. That's why most larger companies don't stick to just one solution.
As a Microsoft Azure File Storage integrator, I present the solution and its services to our company's customers.
What I like about Microsoft Azure File Storage is its convenience for customers, cost-effectiveness, and high availability. It's easy for customers to manage which makes it a practical choice.
There is room for improvement in helping customers understand and integrate Azure File Storage into their operations. Additionally, adding more AI capabilities and innovation could make it even better for customers in the future.
I have been using the solution for a year.
I would give it an eight out of ten for stability.
I would rate the scalability of Azure File Storage an eight out of ten. It's quite scalable. We have not had issues with it. It is suitable for enterprise businesses.
The technical support is good. I would rate it an eight out of ten.
Positive
While I have experience working with Oracle's products, Microsoft's products outperform them. Microsoft offers cloud services, and customers prefer Microsoft for their overall service requirements, even though there may not be a significant difference in the cloud itself.
The initial setup is fairly simple. If a customer needs help with the integration, we will re-do the whole process with them.
In terms of pricing, I've noticed that Oracle Cloud has lower rates than Microsoft Azure File Storage, especially regarding data transfer costs. Oracle doesn't charge for data transfer like Azure. So, price-wise, I find Oracle Cloud more affordable.
Different cloud providers offer similar services but the choice should align with the customer's overall requirements. For example, if a customer deploys in Oracle Cloud, we use Oracle File Storage. If they opt for Azure, then Azure File Storage is used. The key is to match the storage solution to the chosen cloud environment. Additionally, you can use a multi-cloud approach to deploy workloads in various environments. Tools like Cloudify, Morpheus, or Aviatrix help manage these multiple cloud platforms for the organization. Overall, I would rate Microsoft Azure File Storage a seven out of ten.
We use the solution to store server data.
Cloud file storage is easy to operate across different environments. It helps us with geo-redundancy.
The product must provide better security functions.
I have been using the solution for three to four years.
I rate the product’s stability a ten out of ten.
I rate the tool’s scalability a ten out of ten. Around 50 to 100 people use the solution in our organization.
We contacted support for a few cases. The response time and quality of support were good.
The initial setup is simple.
We deployed the solution ourselves.
I rate the pricing a six or seven out of ten. The pricing could be more flexible.
Both AWS and Microsoft Azure File Storage are the same. The functionalities are similar. How they integrate with different features might vary.
New features might be introduced in the future, but the solution is already good from our perspective. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
