I work on whatever development projects I get with Oracle Enterprise Manager in my company.

The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a very user-friendly tool. I find Oracle Enterprise Manager to be a complete tool because it has options like SQL Scratchpad, Oracle Migration Workbench, etc.

Oracle Enterprise Manager's scalability is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required.

In the future releases of Oracle Enterprise Manager, I would like to see the product offer the ability to its users to scale up the solution whenever required.

I have been using Oracle Enterprise Manager for around ten years. I work as an Oracle consultant.

It is a stable solution.

Though Oracle Enterprise Manager is a scalable product, it may not be as scalable as Oracle Big Data. You can scale up Oracle Big Data to any number, but it may be difficult to do so when it comes to Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Around 10 to 50 people in my company use Oracle Enterprise Manager.

The solution's technical support is good. I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.

The initial setup of the product is easy.

The product's installation phase may take up to a maximum of 30 minutes.

The product's installation phase can be taken care of by one person.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.

Usually, I use Oracle Enterprise Manager for development purposes, and I can say that the development part is very easy with Oracle.

I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

We use the solution for monitoring and alerting.

The job subsystem, monitoring subsystem, alerting, grouping of targets, and reporting features are valuable to us. Sending alerts based on groups is also useful. The product serves the purpose that we are using it for. We are very satisfied.

The product must improve its support team.

I have been using the solution for 12 years.

We have around 300 customers. Almost every customer that is present in our environment is using the product.

Support for the internal workings is not well documented. The solution’s engineers have to run after the senior engineers whenever any complex issue occurs. It causes a delay when we create a support request.

The initial setup is complex. It requires two server setups. It took us five to six hours to deploy the solution due to its complexity and the number of components present.

We need two DBAs to deploy and maintain the solution.

I am not sure about the pricing. The pricing terms change every year. It depends on the customer’s infrastructure and environment.

We need to install plugins for integration. It is pretty much covered within the tool. It requires additional licensing, and we do not require integration. I would recommend the solution to others. We can use it for monitoring and alerting purposes, and it is a very good tool. Overall, I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

It is a good tool for monitoring databases. It enhances the overall visibility within the database.

The older version of the product works with Flash technology. Although the latest version works with Java, it still requires Flash technology. It should utilize only a Java plugin to visualize your dashboard. Additionally, It is complicated to run it on Google Chrome.

We have been Oracle Enterprise Manager since 2012. At present, we use the 13c version.

It is a stable platform.

We have 5000 Oracle Enterprise Manager users in our organization. We have a team of 20 administrators to manage. Additionally, we plan to increase the usage in the future.

The product’s technical resources should cooperate with us during the shifts. We have to wait as they transfer cases to other resources according to their shifts.

We switched to Oracle Database Appliance from the commodity server for better compatibility and performance.

The product is easy to implement as we are familiar with Oracle solutions. We can download and import it to a virtual box or infrastructure through their website.

The product’s troubleshooting capabilities and visibility justifies the investment.

The product’s price is reasonable. It works well for database server visibility. It helps us understand the cost of database monitoring.

I rate Oracle Enterprise Manager a ten out of ten.

When we have a tuning problem, we use this solution. 

It's incredibly useful for drawing up the SQL that's being run, identifying and resolving a problematic SQL. You can monitor performance using the various performance data which is what some employees in the companies where I work use it for. 

The majority of the time, I use it to aid in the detection of a performance issue.

It makes things a lot faster. 

We used to have to try to run down the SQL by using queries against the database and run explain plans and go through a number of different processes by hand, which would be very time-consuming. I am pointing and clicking, seeing what the top SQL is in terms of performance and utilization, taking up resources, and I am more or less navigating through it to get to the problem. What used to take hours to solve a problem, can be done in a matter of minutes.

It's a useful feature to be able to see the top SQL, the number of executions, the CPU, and the resources that it's using.

Also, being able to utilize that to look at the plans that are being generated for that piece of SQL and then determine how we can change that to increase the performance.

In my opinion, rather than a younger DBA, think the user interface could be improved.

I like the tree-type system. In all of Oracles products, you can get anywhere in several different ways, and I find that navigation to be a little bit tedious. For instance, you might wonder, "How did I get there that time?" " Oh, I got there a different way" the next time. It would be easier for me to remember if there was only one route to get there. 

This is my point of view. If you spoke with a younger DBA who has just started, they would have no trouble at all. When you have been doing something for the past 30 years, or how you learned to do it, or how you learned to learn when you were younger versus what they are doing today.

We have been providing Oracle Enterprise Manager since its inception.

The version used, varies from customer to customer and what they have. 

Currently, we don't have it installed on a local machine.

The stability of Oracle Enterprise Manager is very good.

When it first came out, and I started using it, I was working for Oracle in Oracle Education. You could utilize it, and the SQL behind it to gather statistics was wrong. But they have that sorted out now, and things are looking up today.

It's very scalable. You can expand it to cover everything you need in that environment.

It could range between 10 and 20, depending on the size of the customer and the number of DBAs they have. However, DBAs and system administrators will use it in some cases. I have one customer where there are some power users who can look at things. Then we try to get the developers to use it as well, so they can look at their SQL to tune it. In my area, it's usually 10 to 20, but once you open it up to developers, it could be another 50 to a hundred. It all depends on the company, its size, and how it is used.

A good percentage of Oracle clients use this solution, but I don't have any personal plans to use it more or to use it less. We use it when it's available.

Oracle technical support is pretty good, but you have to know how to work with them.

You have to know when to bring on a duty manager, or when to raise the level of support that you need, but they're pretty good. They do a pretty good job overall.

I've used Toad before, as well as a SQL developer that they have, which does some of the same things as this, but none of those products provide the overall picture that Enterprise Manager does, though Toad is frequently used. That's something I've done for a variety of customers. Quest Spotlight was a product that was used in the past. There were a few products that did the same thing, and it's possible that those were the only ones. But these days, if I walk into a client and they're using a tool, I'd probably prefer it to be Enterprise Manager.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. It's not as simple as Microsoft products for example, but it's not difficult.

Oracle products, in general, are not Microsoft products; you will always have some configuration or some tweaking that you will have to do.

I haven't deployed this solution in quite some time. It has always just been there. I would say deployment, is typically part of a larger project. It's just one of the tools that you're going to deploy along the way.

In terms of timing, and how it takes to deploy, would be days, and planning would be on the backend of a larger project. You are preparing databases and applications before you get to the core of what is to be done, then you can start including tools around it, which is normally on the backed.

One person can easily deploy and maintain this solution.

The licensing is the responsibility of our customers.

Other than having the expertise to put it together, and then use it properly, there are no additional costs incurred beyond the standard licensing fees that I have encountered.

My advice would be to find someone with experience who has implemented it before, and if they're not on staff, bring them in as a consultant. Have them work with the staff to show the staff how to do it. As I am a consultant, of course, this would be my recommendation.

You can save yourself a lot of time and a lot of heartaches, by working with someone that knows what they're doing. Of course, you want to ensure that all of that knowledge is transferred, but if you find someone who knows what they're doing, it can save you a lot of time and they can set things up correctly and show you how to use it efficiently.

Because it's a good product, and I worked for Oracle when they first released it, which was more than 20 years ago, but things have changed dramatically since then. 

It did not replace the DBA as they claimed when it was first introduced, but we, the DBAs, knew it wouldn't. It's a really good product and can be a really good tool in the right hands. I would rate Oracle Enterprise Manager a nine out of ten.

The tool provides valuable visibility into Oracle websites, offering information such as session counts, long-running transactions, etc. We're even working on developing our services to enhance monitoring capabilities within Enterprise Manager further

What I like most about Oracle Enterprise Manager are its features, particularly the active session history. It provides insights into SQL, and I use it regularly to identify potential issues. Automation is incredibly useful when setting thresholds and notifications to manage processes effectively. Recently, we've set up Oracle Resource Manager. 

The value of using Oracle Enterprise Manager lies in the visibility it provides in your database infrastructure. It serves as a solution for database management, including monitoring, notifications, and troubleshooting.

Improving the integration speed would be beneficial, as the current Java-based system can sometimes result in slow responses. Enhancing performance overall would also be valuable.

I have been using the product for 10 years. 

The tool is stable. 

We are currently working with at least five large banks that have deployed or are ready to deploy Oracle Enterprise Manager. We use various metrics and diagrams to monitor their processes and understand what is happening within their systems.

I haven't contacted the technical team yet. 

You need to familiarize yourself with the concepts and additional requirements for deployment. Cloud services are a bit different from on-premise setups. You need to understand some extra features and technology, which can lead to additional challenges.

As far as I know, you do not pay for Oracle Enterprise Manager separately. You can use Enterprise Manager for free if you already have an Oracle license for your database.

Currently, we're considering a hybrid cloud environment for our customers. While one of our customers has been utilizing this for several years, we're now exploring the pricing model to determine its suitability for different customer segments. While banks may not fully transition to the cloud, smaller financial companies or universities could benefit from this model.

My recommendation would be for those interested in starting to use Oracle Enterprise Manager to take advantage of its free version. I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten. 

The best part is the efficient database performance monitoring and the ability to take actions directly from there. For example, if any issues arise, such as performance slowing down or sessions getting stuck, you no longer need to go to the server and write a script to address them.

My organization is a software company that develops application files and uses Oracle databases along with Oracle EBS for interface.

The most valuable features of the solution are its stability and the performance of the databases from Oracle.

The interface offered by Oracle Enterprise Manager has certain shortcomings and needs improvement to become a nice tool. The interface offered by Oracle Enterprise Manager needs to be more user-friendly.

I have been using Oracle Enterprise Manager for twenty years. I use the solution's latest version, which is Oracle Database 19c.

The solution's technical support is nice since they respond very fast to queries, especially if you have an account with them. There is a forum where a lot of people talk about anything you can search for if you don't have an account for Oracle's support.

The solution comes as an in-built solution of the database of Oracle. One can install the database from Oracle in 20 minutes.

You need to download the installation file from Oracle's website for the installation process.

I would recommend other tools to those planning to use Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Enterprise Manager is a centralized system. It will help integrate all the Oracle servers and Oracle applications into a central single dashboard that we can see, and it helps to monitor and control all the services from enterprise management.

The single-pane and single interface in the centralized system is the most valuable feature. All the enterprise services can be seen from a single pane, whether it be a database, applications, or hardware. We can manage and monitor from a single page.

Lots of other OEMs we can integrate, but there are very few variants that we can bind and see and monitor from OEM Enterprise Manager. In that case, Oracle can increase the addition of other OEM devices that we can integrate into enterprise management.

There are limited numbers of other OEM devices that can be integrated into enterprise management that can be scaled by Oracle by adding other OEM devices to enterprise management.

I have been working with this solution for more than five years. 

It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.

All the clients that have Oracle servers are using the Enterprise Manager. So, there are around six to seven clients using this solution.

I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, with one being difficult and ten being easy. 

The deployment process takes five to six hours. 

The process will take the deployment of our database first. We need to set up the Oracle database. After that, the database is created, and we need to create a listener. And after that, we can set up the Oracle Enterprise Manager database. In the middleware, it will communicate with the database, and after the process is complete, we can browse the Oracle Enterprise Manager. With the help of Oracle Enterprise Manager, we can communicate with all the servers and other posts that support SNMP or with whichever supports the Oracle Enterprise Manager point.

It's a very stable monitoring tool that can help manage all the resources and view all the resources from a single dashboard.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. I deducted one point because it doesn't offer a feature of allowing other operating systems to be hosted on Spark.

We have 200,000 users using the solution. We have sufficient usage of the solution.

The initial setup of the solution is straightforward. The time of deployment depends on the database and customer. The solution needs a third-party integration that uses the database.

Deployment is the same with the wireless license. You first deployed a server to the cloud and then created a schema for all your data links. The deployment process depends on the system type you will implement.

The solution’s licence is expensive. It is a user-based solution and has a yearly subscription for upgrades.

The maintenance of the Oracle Enterprise Manager solution depends on the type of banking system you are using, the number of users, the amount of data, and whether or not you have migrated any data. Since we have not migrated any data, it is going as it is.

You should go for an open-source solution if possible.
