SAP NetWeaver MDM [EOL] Reviews Summary
Author infoRatingReview Summary
Senior Consultant at a tech consulting company with 1,001-5,000 employees3.0I found SAP MDM flexible for data modeling and consolidation, improving data quality and analytics. However, match/merge performance degrades with data volume, and stability issues arise under peak load. Change tracking also needs improvement.
Manager at a consultancy with 1,001-5,000 employees2.5I found SAP MDM valuable for master data management due to features like mass editing. However, I advise against implementing it now because of its complexity and lack of further development, suggesting a move to SAP MDG instead.
Senior Treasury Analyst at a media company with 1,001-5,000 employees4.0I used this solution for three years, valuing its ability to update a vast online catalog seamlessly. While setup was complex, it proved stable and scalable. I only wish for a more appealing presentation layout.
Senior Solution Architect at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees4.0I've used SAP Netweaver MDM for nine years and praise its ease of use and benefits for heterogeneous landscapes. Despite needing improvements in data operations, I prefer it, though SAP is unfortunately shifting investment away.
Developer at a retailer with 1,001-5,000 employees3.0I've used NetWeaver MDM for seven years; while it initially improved data accuracy and access, recent stability issues, poor customer service, and an uncertain future make this once-excellent product no longer promising.
SAP Application Specialist at a consumer goods company with 1,001-5,000 employees4.0I found SAP MDM valuable for centralized master data and distribution. However, eight years ago, its immaturity led to system crashes, significant implementation delays requiring extensive SAP support, and ongoing upgrade efforts.
Managing Solution Architect - Business Information Management at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees2.0I've used this solution for eight years. While it offers good design flexibility and standardises processes, it's now obsolete and unscalable. The complex setup is balanced by good customer service.

It's helped us to create and maintain product catalogs distributed to both SAP and non-SAP systems. Unfortunately, it's in a maintenance phase with no further development.

It’s ability to update frequently while not disturbing live information listed on ordering website is good for customer satisfaction. But, I'd like to see enhancements to the presentation layout.

It's easy to scale and integrate, if you have the right design in place, but it could improve in areas like matching/merging capability, data export operations and data import operations.

We can deploy cross-client front ends to allow visibility and data maintenance across multiple offices and clients, but core components requires the removal of limitations that SAP has implemented.

We're able to create a golden record by maintaining the majority of the product master data in one single system.

It has helped standardise processes, enforcing strict workflow and audit control, as well as controlling data input, and reducing duplicates. However, it's now obsolete.
