SAP Signavio Process Intelligence Reviews

I've worked on process insights where we plug and play with the SAP landscape of the client. We use the artificial intelligence capabilities of Signavio to gain insights into different KPIs for various business processes, end-to-end processes, and lines of business. 

These KPIs are predefined based on the industry domain, whether it's related to oil and natural gas, healthcare, pharma, manufacturing, etc. So, based on their industry, there are predefined KPIs in the process insights with industry benchmarks.

I've been working on process intelligence for transformation projects. Our client is migrating from the SAP system to SAP HANA. In such a scenario, they want to streamline their processes in S/4HANA by analyzing and optimizing the processes from their existing ECC system using Signavio.

Process Intelligence is essentially process mining and analysis building. We delve deep into the process using Process Insights. Signavio provides predefined KPIs based on the data we input. These KPIs are automatically calculated and displayed in the system. In process intelligence, we conduct in-depth analysis by mining exhaustive data spanning one or two years. 

One of the most valuable things about process intelligence is that it allows you to mine data over a long period of time, such as one or two years. This gives us a deep understanding of how your processes actually work.

We identify bottlenecks in each activity within the process. This involves defining the activities, mapping the happy path, and delineating undesired activities, examining how they flow in the process. The goal is to optimize or standardize the process using Process Intelligence. We establish KPIs to assess the process, and based on that, we take actions to streamline the process.

When it comes to Signavio, as I've worked on Celonis, I've observed two things in Celonis and Signavio. In Celonis, using the process mining tool, we can implement automation skills. So we can take actions to improve the process as well. That is one thing. 

And one more thing is you can do dashboarding using Celonis, which is not possible in Signavio. So, there's not as much access to features in Signavio as we have with Celonis. We may not have any significant features there.

So, these two features could be added: dashboarding and automation skills.

I have been working with this solution for one year. 

It is stable. Perfectly stable. It is an effective product, so it is stable and scalable right now.

It is a scalable product but it is a little difficult.

Our customers are only enterprises. It is a large-scale business.

The customer service and support are absolutely good. However, it might be delayed sometimes. 

It is easy to install this solution. Overall, it took around one to two days to deploy. 

I'm the only person working on it. Maintenance depends on the client and the system. For example, for the client in Signavio, it would be easy to maintain, but for other systems, it can be a bit more difficult. 

In those cases, we need the expertise of other system administrators to deploy or maintain the solution.

It's easy to maintain in Signavio. Not like Celonis, where we need data engineers to do that completely. In Signavio, it is not that much needed.

The pricing is expensive. 

I'm working on process mining with Signavio. So earlier, I have experience with Celonis as well.

It is scalable, and it is easy to maintain. Even when compared with others, we have the ultimate feature of the process model engine in Signavio. So, along with process intelligence and process mining, they offer process modeling as well. They are also offering process governance where we can automate workflow editors and other automation. 

When it comes to process insights, process intelligence, and process modeling, Signavio is the right product to provide all these solutions under one roof.

Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. There are areas of improvement in the solution. There are improvements to be made. Although, they have solutions for those things. For example, Signavio needs to improve its onboarding capability. But when I reached out to Signavio, they suggested we use Fiori apps for dashboarding. So that is also the right solution for them because Signavio is a product of SAP, and Fiori is a product of SAP. This is just the theory only. So then, there is no need for dashboarding capabilities to be built in Signavio.

We use the product for commercial operations and supply chain management.

The product helps us build solid business use cases. We can present them as effective visual diagrams in PPT format.

The product needs improvement for out-of-the-box features. It should be able to convert business workflows into media documents quickly. The process of finding dependencies and flagging them could be better.

They should add the feature of exporting PDFs. There could be AI-related features to integrate multiple tools.

We have been using SAP Signavio Process Intelligence for a year.

We have not encountered downtime for the platform.

The product is scalable.

The product’s knowledge base is equipped with AI features. If you know the buzzwords and the keywords, you will be able to find solutions to queries. The literature points to web pages that may have the necessary information to help you deal with the issues. If the problem is not resolved, you can always open a case.

Positive

Our customer used UiPath before. Later, they switched to SAP Signavio Process Intelligence as they wanted an ERP native process mining solution. They decided to move away from UI automation and bring in more workflow-driven automation with a stable system rather than a robotic approach.

The initial setup is based on a native process, as it is already deployed on SAP. We started the deployment with a POC approach. It took us ten weeks to complete. Later, we required another week to set up insurance warranties.

If you already use SAP products as a part of your ERP system, then going for Signavio Process Intelligence makes sense. It would incur a little cost as well. 

There need to be some more improvements from an interface point of view. The process mining should be easier for business analysts and clerical staff working on the machine and using these tools. We shouldn’t be required to spend a lot of time training and scaling for it. Also, they should bring in some API features and new technologies.

I rate SAP Signavio Process Intelligence an eight out of ten.

It's a process mining tool.

The use cases have been secondary insights. We're working with clients to process insights and SAP insights. I look at their pain point processes and bring intelligence investigations to those processes. Intelligence by itself is expensive and scattered. However, if you want to focus on your pain point, it's highly effective.

Building the investment to start to just kind of build dashboards to monitor processes has been very useful. This product gives us the ability within intelligence to utilize signal programming or signal widgets to build monitoring within the issued processes. If I have a process and I've got, let's say, conformance issues, I can build those investigations within intelligence. I can monitor them on a daily basis to see how often these processes are following the right process flow and how many times are people outside that flow, for example. Also, we can use it to push simulation back into a manager so we can compare and process flows.

It's easy to set up.

SAP has to figure out a better way to price it. Their licensing structure isn't ideal as it's based on data; therefore, it's hard to estimate client costs.

The fact that SAP sold Celonis before buying Signavio is another issue I find with clients. They're using Signavio Mining and saying, "Why should I move to Intelligence?" SAP needs to figure that out also.

I've used the solution for about six months. I've used it since February of this year.

We do use it in the cloud environment, although we have some clients that do on-prem. However, it is a very, very stable product. I haven't had any issues with it.

It's easily scalable. Obviously, you have to understand the data links and the APIs if it's a non-SAP platform. However, for the most part, it's easily scalable if you know how to build the data links.

We've had 15 to 20 people using the product. That includes both the company and clients. Listening to our process lead, I see them using the product. Those are the main people on it. People are really tied to the process. It's less IT, more of the transformation in the organization teams instead of really IT folks using it. That's the design for Signavio - to allow it to be resource usable and not have to wait for some IT group to do your work.

I can't speak to how helpful support would be. I've not needed it. 

We haven't had any issues that we had to contact tech support on. We built the data feeds and everything easily on our own.

Celonis is another solution clients might gravitate towards, and the pricing is easier to estimate. 

The initial implementation is very straightforward and very easy to set up. 

It's the easiest product I've worked with on set up, the whole Transformation Suite.

The pricing structure isn't great right now. 

The other modules are priced with licenses. For example, you can buy a manager license, and you can buy Collaboration Hub licenses. Intelligence is priced by data usage, and no one knows how to price the project since we never know how much data will be required to meet the client's needs.

That is an issue. Clients will move to Celonis if they can't figure out how much it will cost them to use Intelligence. 

I've got SAP sales admins that can't figure out pricing, so how can we figure out the pricing outside of SAP?

We are an SAP reseller. Basically that's due to the fact that we deal in a lot of SAP products. We are not, for example, resellers.

I have people part of my team that manage the cloud platform.

My first advice would be if you're going to add products to add Signavio Process Hub, do Insights, and then do Intelligence. Intelligence's value is in pinpointing pain areas. It's expensive to do all your processes in Intelligence. Therefore, you want Intelligence on focused processes.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. If the pricing wasn't so difficult, I would rate it ten out of ten. 

The use case is it is similar to Celonis. That said, it is only process intelligence when it comes to data science and advanced analytics.

There is reporting and normal calculation data engineering stuff as well as automation. Everything is posted in Signavio.

The backend is great.

The data engineering stuff and the front end that we are using to create KPIs both works on SQL so you don't have to learn a different language. If you have knowledge of SQL, it is fine.

Signavio makes it easy to make all the connections across different source systems.

It's a tool that works best with SAP. If you're trying to connect any other source system to that other than SAP, then it is difficult. It doesn’t integrate well with other systems.

It could be more scalable.

It could be more stable.

Technical support needs to be improved.

I’ve been working with the solution for a year now.

The stability is okay. I wold rate it six out of ten overall.

The solution isn’t extremely scalable. I’d rate its ability to scale at a four out of ten.

We’re only using the solution with one client at this time.

Technical support could be better. Their services aren’t as good as, for example, Celonis. The response time is slow at this time. they could be faster.

I’ve also used Celonis, and they can in many ways be similar products.

The ease of setup depends on what you re trying to do. If you are connecting it to SAP, it is straightforward. However, if you're connecting to any other source system, it is difficult.

In terms of deployment, if you are talking about the connection part, the connection to source system took about two weeks. The other development data engineering and dashboard building stuff that depends on project timelines and the length of the data that you’re using.

Implementing ten dashboards would take two to three months. If you are just implementing a single dashboard, it can be done within a month.

For us, first, we made connections. We created our activity tables and attribute tables. Then we built our data model. Based on data model, we built our process Intelligence dashboard.

I can’t speak to the exact pricing.

I am using the latest version of the solution at this time.

For an entire organization using SAP, SAP Signavio is best option for them. However, if you want to implement processes, and manage multiple items that aren’t necessarily related to SAP, go with Celonis.

I’d rate the solution six out of ten overall.

We use Signavio BPI to visualize the current cross-system process landscape of our customers. Based on this, we map against best practices and help our customers to identify the optimal transformation path via process/task mining.

Furthermore, we hand over the solution to our customers' departments and enable them to digitize their own business processes. PowerPoint or Visio are not required for this. In most cases, the effort required to create the latter documents leads to outdated documentation statuses.

Many customers have no or outdated process documentation. With Signavio, our customers learn to understand BPM as a discipline and lay the foundation for digital transformation themselves.

Our customers accept Signavio as the Microsoft Teams for operations and operational management. Once set up, Signavio drives the continuous optimization and innovation of business processes and makes them valuable and, above all, comparable through real-time KPIs. 

Process Intelligence saves our customers effort in identifying process gaps not in time-consuming and error-prone fit/gap workshops, but automatically via process mining. We can then invest efforts into evaluating the gaps and thus lay the transformation path more quickly.

The Collaboration Hub is the Microsoft Teams for process-oriented collaboration. By clearly defining process owners, customers can not only better achieve their goals but are always accountable to partners and audits. The next step would be the process-oriented networking of entire companies.

There could be more standard interfaces for importing data from the various systems in the process landscape. 

Signavio is currently still focusing on the company's internal business processes. Looking to the future, it would be desirable to be able to conduct process mining not only within my E2E business processes but also across the entire supply chain. Knowing that not all parameters are given, Signavio offers the chance to take this elementary step in the network economy. 

I have been using the solution for about seven years now (starting with studies and moving over to support process-oriented S/4HANA transformations).

The solution runs in a very stable manner and is continuously developed.

The solution is ideally suited for mapping complex processes across departments in large companies by a large number of employees.

In our view, Signavio is a pioneer in the digitization of BPM. We have not used any other tool in projects before.

The ROI is not yet possible to quantify.

As long as Signavio is still independent (there's potentially a recent acquisition SAP), it may make sense to make initial agreements today. Licenses will change after the merger.

We are currently also evaluating Celonis for further project initiations.

We use the whole Signavio Business Transformation Suite. That means Process
Manager including the simulation function and DMN (Decision Model and Notation),
Collaboration Hub, Process Intelligence, Workflow Accelerator – basically we use
everything.

The product's best feature is the connection and integration between all of the
capabilities. I would say it has several very strong features like the Process Editor,
the Collaboration Hub, and Process Intelligence.

The challenge for a solution that utilizes modeling notations, is that the look and feel
of the models (e.g. in BPMN) is pre-defined. To lead a successful Process
Management initiative, I need the solution to look and feel great. I like the new
feature of Navigation Maps a lot. But Signavio should take this approach further, to
allow me to easily create an environment for our people that they want to use on a
daily basis.

The product is very stable. We are pushing with our customer success manager for
continuous improvements of the solution.

Currently, we don't see any issues with the potential for scalability.

We have a strategic partnership — not only technical support or consulting product
support. That means that every time we put in a request for support there is a higher
prioritization for our issue. We are a fast-growing company, so we cannot wait for a
couple of months to fix an issue that is critical to our operations. If we call and ask for
support, we normally get this support as soon as possible.

The initial setup was very easy and straightforward as it is a browser-based system
utilizing the cloud. The main challenge about the system setup was deciding on how
to utilize the available Signavio features as it represents the core software in our
Business Process Management. We defined this with a little help from external BPM
experts and Signavio consulting.

I used to work with Signavio before, so I knew the approach. With the help of
Signavio consulting, we were able to ramp up our own capabilities rapidly.

We have 300,000 restaurants on our platforms across 40 countries. If we are able to
improve our process execution by one minute in each restaurant, this has a huge
impact on the business. We have definitely seen a tangible ROI from using Signavio.
Visualizing a process has a huge benefit for compliance purposes but for us, the main
business improvements result from the combination of process mining and process
simulation where we can calculate the impact of planned changes.

I was involved in the decision to bring Signavio on as our solution. There are many
vendors, but for me, the key deciding point was that there is a whole integrated suite.
My experience with Signavio support was always amazing and I like the vision they
have. It helps as well that it is a startup and a fast-growing company that is very
product and customer-driven. In this environment, you need a company that really
speaks the language of the customer, and that is what Signavio does.

I can recommend using Process Intelligence to mine processes quickly. It has really helped us in how we are approaching our business processes. I think that is one of the key factors for our continued success in the future. We have real-time data-based insights and a view into real-time processes. Without Process Intelligence, the approach of documenting processes normally takes a long time when you have to ask the process participants questions about how they believe the process is working. Besides consuming a lot of time, this approach has the risk that you document a process without really knowing if your documentation is correct.

Besides the process view, with Process Intelligence you have a lot of additional analytical views. For example, you can compare countries, metrics, KBIS (Knowledge-Based Information Systems), you can see directly how long it took from one step to the other. Process Intelligence provides direct insights into how our organization is actually operating. 

For example, it provides insights into our sales paths, how we onboard the restaurants, what is our lead time, and our conversion time and rate. We can also see how a system was implemented and where there may be issues with interfaces. For example that master data was not properly implemented. Based on these insights, we see exactly which issues we need to tackle and gain insights about the potential for improvements.

On a scale of one to ten with one being the worst and ten being the best, I would rate the product as an eight. I would never go to ten because I always think there is room for improvement. I would rate differently depending on the modules. The Process Editor is like an eight or nine. Process Intelligence is still a relatively new feature and has room to provide even more value to us. Overall, there is still potential for improvement, and that's what we push Signavio for.

I work with BPM tools including ARIS, Signavio, and Symbio. I am primarily working as a consultant or developer. I have been working with SAP Signavio Process Intelligence.

I have been generally satisfied with the tool, though we faced challenges in downloading data into SAP Signavio Process Intelligence. There were significant challenges in the formatting of tables.

SAP Signavio Process Intelligence should improve the usability and features that refer to the integration of business processes and system data. There have been improvements needed in terms of reports and dashboards.

The first time I interacted with the intelligence part was approximately last year.

I am not looking at other solutions anymore.

Based on what I observed last year and from seeing other tools or solutions, I would rate SAP Signavio Process Intelligence a five out of ten.

I was not extensively involved in this project, but I am aware that there were improvements compared to last year, particularly regarding data upload, harmonization, and integration of data.

I cannot provide information about the pricing.

There was a partnership in place, which is more of a historical arrangement.
