My main use case for Sophos Central involves utilizing it as an endpoint, EDR, and email gateway.

In my day-to-day work, I use Sophos Central by installing the agent on our clients. We have around 40 to 50 clients that are using Sophos as their EDR. We have created the alerting system in our ServiceNow, which is integrated with Sophos Central, so we get tickets in ServiceNow whenever something is triggered. I log into Sophos to investigate the alert, reviewing the alerts on that device from Sophos, and if required, I manually log into the device to check the alert and take actions accordingly.

Regarding my main use case or how I use Sophos Central day to day, the most useful feature is that Sophos blocks threats. As a senior engineer, my main work involving Sophos is handling situations when it blocks something that is legitimate, such as a ServiceNow MID Server. Every time this happens, Sophos blocks it as a malicious file, so we dive into Sophos and create exclusions, especially path exclusions, and if necessary, we also create hash exclusions to ensure that the legitimate file can be accessed and run by the user without any issues.

The best features Sophos Central offers, in my opinion, involve its excellent ability to block threats in endpoint protection. While it is not as effective in handling exclusion cases, it excels at successfully blocking almost all files that seem suspicious, which is really good and provides strong security.

What I appreciate most about the blocking features in Sophos Central is its real-time detection and the variety of threat types it can catch. Many other endpoints miss files that don't have a bad reputation, but Sophos finds a way to catch those malicious files, and if there's even a small suspicion, it blocks them. The real-time detection is really great in Sophos Central.

Sophos Central has positively impacted our organization by being a desired EDR solution for our many clients. As an MSSP, we have a significant number of clients utilizing Sophos Central, and it provides excellent service as an EDR. Even when we use it as an email gateway, it continues to perform well, making it beneficial for our organization with a wide client base.

One way Sophos Central can be improved is in its exclusion capabilities. When we try to exclude legitimate files, we find that it requires a lot of effort, as we cannot simply exclude one file from every detection. Due to the layered approach, it takes time to exclude even one file, indicating that the exclusion process could definitely be enhanced.

I would add that the logs in Sophos Central should be more detailed. Sometimes, when we're checking the logs, they simply state that a file is blocked, but we can't find out why that is the case. More detailed logs could significantly improve the log collecting aspect.

Areas for improvement in Sophos Central are log collection, exclusion processes, and customer support. Aside from these points, I believe the overall product is great.

I have been using Sophos Central for the last six years.

Sophos Central is stable, which is a positive attribute.

I believe Sophos Central's scalability is good compared to other EDR solutions that we have.

Customer support for Sophos Central is a bit slow. When I create a support ticket, it takes a while for them to respond. In my recent experience with a support ticket, the engineer was not very effective and took longer than I expected. When we reach out to the support team, we anticipate quick answers, especially since the client is waiting for a resolution. The vendor seems to take time contacting other teams, so I feel the support team could improve their response times.

Before using Sophos Central, we had utilized CrowdStrike; however, due to an outbreak, some clients wanted to switch away from CrowdStrike. We provided clients with options, including Sophos Central and SentinelOne, with SentinelOne being fairly costly. Ultimately, most clients preferred Sophos Central, leading us to switch a few clients from CrowdStrike to Sophos Central.

I have seen a return on investment with Sophos Central in terms of needing fewer employees because Sophos Central is handling many tasks itself. Previously, we had to monitor other endpoints and faced issues integrating with ServiceNow, requiring separate monitoring. After adopting Sophos Central, we can easily integrate with ServiceNow, which means fewer employees, and that translates to money saved.

Before choosing Sophos Central, we evaluated other options such as SentinelOne and Microsoft Defender.

My advice to others looking into using Sophos Central is that it is beneficial in terms of cost efficiency and time efficiency. I recommend using Sophos Central and digging into the logs more thoroughly, and if possible, incorporating syslogs or other kinds of logs. I would rate this product a 7 out of 10.

My main use case for Sophos Central is to manage multiple firewall devices. We have multiple branches and each branch has a Sophos firewall, which I can manage centrally through Sophos Central. It helps us to create a rule and send it to all the firewalls at once.

Currently, I am using Sophos Central for monitoring purposes. I can monitor all firewalls in a single dashboard, which is the greatest thing in Sophos Central.

The best feature Sophos Central offers is the ability to manage multiple firewalls from a single dashboard.

Besides the single dashboard, I find it invaluable that I can create and apply policies through Sophos Central easily to all firewalls, which would not be possible if I had to connect each firewall one by one.

I can manage more than 50 devices from a single dashboard, which is the best feature currently.

Sophos Central has improved my organization because previously we had to manually monitor all firewalls and check logs one by one. Now I see everything in a single dashboard, which is very beneficial.

Using Sophos Central saves me so much time because checking logs for all firewalls one by one is very difficult. Here I check all logs on a single dashboard, which is very useful.

Currently, based on my knowledge and experience, Sophos Central is perfect. It might need updates if technology increases in the future.

Currently I do not want to suggest anything small or minor that could make my experience even smoother. If possible, a mobile app would be perfect; if it is available, I currently do not know about it.

I did not use or know about a mobile app currently, and if it is available, then it would be a ten out of ten for me. If anything happens, I can easily access it on mobile, which would be available at all times.

In my current organization, I have been working for eight months.

We have not experienced any downtime or issues with Sophos Central; it has been stable for us.

Currently, Sophos Central is a very perfect application as per my needs, and it solves a lot of our time issues.

I reached out to customer support for Sophos Central and I had a very good support experience. I received instant support and remote assistance, and the Sophos team is very cooperative and helped me a lot.

I did not use a different solution before Sophos Central; we were manually checking all firewalls without any other solution. Now we are using Sophos Central after receiving updates about it and implementing it.

We did not evaluate other solutions.

We are a partner or reseller with the vendor, suggesting to customers that if they have requirements about network security, they should consider using Sophos Central and Sophos firewalls for their multiple branches.

We see a return on investment with Sophos Central because it saves manpower and time. Previously we needed one employee for log management, but currently we manage everything on a single platform, making it very easy for us.

The pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Sophos Central are not handled by me; that is handled by another team. Currently I do not know about that.

We did not evaluate other options before choosing Sophos Central because all the firewalls we have are Sophos. We only evaluated Sophos Central.

I advise those with multiple firewalls to use Sophos Central, as it is the best solution to manage all firewalls from a single dashboard, allowing you to check all logs easily.

Currently I am managing Sophos Central after receiving updates about it and implementing it. I would rate this solution an 8 out of 10.

As I am from a service-based company, my main use case for Sophos Central is that I am taking care of all of our security needs.

I use Sophos Central to block any website or application. For example, if I want to block WhatsApp, I simply call that specific application through Sophos Central.

I can manage Sophos firewall from Sophos Central, along with managing ZTNA, encryption, mobile MDM, and Sophos MDM.

The best feature of Sophos Central is that I can use all of the solutions from Sophos in a single pane of glass, which means I can manage all the services of Sophos from one console.

Having everything in one console makes my work easier because if I want to make a change on the firewall, I can simply go to the firewall management and make the changes. If I want to change anything related to Sophos wireless, I can directly change it from Sophos firewall without needing to access multiple consoles.

Sophos Central has positively impacted my organization because it allows us to utilize Sophos products in a single pane of glass, and with its synchronized security, it helps to protect our environment more effectively by isolating infected devices from the internet.

I think Sophos Central could be improved by offering an on-premises option because some users prefer to keep their data locally rather than in the cloud.

I think if there were a new licensing model for Linux endpoints, it would be very helpful for us.

I have been working in my current field for the last two years.

Sophos Central is stable.

Sophos Central's scalability is excellent because I can add any licenses at any time without needing to create a new console. For example, if I have 100 endpoints and need 20 more licenses, I can simply purchase them and continue to use them within the same console.

The customer support for Sophos Central is very good. If I call support at any time, they will assign a new engineer according to SLA immediately or within one to three hours.

I previously used Trend Micro before switching to Sophos Central because Trend Micro did not integrate with the console like Sophos Central does.

The experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Sophos Central has been very good. Additionally, there is no license required for Linux EDR machines, and if Sophos were to add Linux EDR licensing, it would be very helpful for my organization and others.

The data is already stored in Sophos cloud, specifically in Sophos database.

I have not seen a return on investment yet.

I evaluated CrowdStrike as well, but I found that CrowdStrike does not provide the same level of protection with site management and application control as Sophos Central does.

I would advise others to use Sophos Central because of its performance and customer support. It works in real-time, making it beneficial for many organizations. I can add that we can manage Sophos firewall from Sophos Central, along with managing ZTNA, encryption, mobile MDM, and Sophos MDM. My review rating for Sophos Central is 10.

I am still using Sophos Central for everything. I am a reseller of Sophos Central products.

For end-customer workstations, I use Sophos Central for antivirus through the central administration console and installation. I also import all of my firewalls into Sophos Central for remote management and those functions.

I do work with Intercept X technology.

Intercept X technology helps with my malware detection and response. If it detects malware, it blocks it and then it sends it through to Sophos Central, which then sends me an email notification that one of the workstations picked up an infection or encountered an issue.

Synchronization security capability contributes to threat identification in my company.

I assess the benefit of a single pane of glass interface positively.

On a couple of older machines, Intercept X does tend to slow a computer down significantly, but on new, modern Windows 11 machines, I have not detected this issue yet.

Intercept X tends to pick up a very common program, Hard Disk Sentinel, as malware, specifically the executable file. For the purpose of installation, I have to disable Intercept X from Sophos Central to complete the install. Once the install is done, I can re-enable it and everything works fine. It creates extra work to make something function, but that is all.

I have been dealing with the product for approximately six to eight years.

I give a stability score of ten.

I would give a scalability score of ten for the product.

If I interact with technical support, I would give them a score of ten as they are good.

I have worked with other products. For instance, Symantec from Broadcom was a nightmare because having to install a separate server module for the management of workstations is not centrally accessible. If something happens, I have to either use TeamViewer to connect to the server to see what is going on or use VPN or another method. The biggest advantage for me is that I can log in from anywhere and see what is going on on the central dashboard with my customer's networks.

I find the installation of Sophos Central easy.

My clients have it on-cloud.

The biggest return on investment is securing my customer's networks.

I have not come across something that is better when I compare Sophos Central with other products.

I have so many workstations and, as a reseller, I am not only working on one Sophos Central. I probably have about 35 to 40 different customers that are on Sophos Central. Each one is set up differently according to customer needs.

I would say Sophos Central is a good solution for all customers, from small to enterprise.

I have not integrated Sophos Central with any third-party applications, so I do not have experience with that functionality.

The machine learning features are enabled. We have picked up a false positive now and again, but then I report it to Sophos and they rectify the issue in upcoming release builds.

The biggest benefit in Sophos Central is the central functionality where I can have my Intercept X integrate the workstations, the servers, and the firewalls I import into Sophos Central. I always enable the RED functionality so that if a machine picks up an issue, it notifies the firewall immediately, and then the two combined rectify the issue if there are any threats or something picked up.

I would say Sophos Central is an affordable product.

They are using Sophos cloud instead of cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

I buy the product directly from Sophos.

I am a Senior IT Consultant here in the company. My overall review rating for this product is ten.

The main use cases for Sophos Central involve monitoring my client, viewing the events, and seeing reports of the detections and events. I will probably integrate with an XDR application before the end of this year, and I will likely integrate Sophos Central with Cisco's Splunk for some projects from Cisco Splunk.

The best features of Sophos Central are that it is very friendly and manageable.

Sophos Central is very user-friendly and easy to manage. A good response from support makes it easy, and it is not a heavy client on my workstation. We have had no issues with other products; we never had an issue in three years and seven months with other products.

Regarding the Intercept X technology in Sophos Central, we have had no issues with that support.

I have read some information a few months ago about the machine learning features in Sophos Central, and I saw that they added an AI tool, AI feature in the Sophos Central console. However, I haven't used it too much.

Regarding the data lake feature in Sophos Central, I saw how I can query history from my workstation to do threat intelligence. At this moment, I would want to see improvements; in this case, I wouldn't want to see products that I don't have.

I don't have a Sophos firewall or many products that appear in the console, even though I don't have them enabled. This is the only thing I don't appreciate about Sophos Central. I see Sophos Switch, Sophos Firewall, and I would prefer that if I don't have that product, it doesn't appear or is hidden from the main menu unless I select it to add.

I have used Sophos Central for three years and seven months.

In terms of support, I would rate the support for Sophos Central a nine out of ten.

I have seen a return on investment with Sophos Central. We returned our investment within the first year.

My thoughts on the pricing or licensing with Sophos Central are that it is very good.

Currently, we are using Fortinet for firewall and Cisco Firepower, and we are implementing some products from Cisco at this time including Cisco Secure Access, Cisco Webex, Cisco Duo, and Meraki. We are now implementing about six products from security from Cisco.

I am extremely satisfied with Sophos Central. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Sophos Central a ten out of ten.

Regarding the features of this tool, I find it very good for small teams because you can customize it. The dashboard can be customized to however you want to view things.

The synchronization technology benefits our security operations, and hopefully we are still up and running after today as well.

It saves us a lot of time, in the sense that we just need one screen to look at. Because it is customized, it shows us what we want to see.

As a user, I suggest improving Sophos Central by addressing some error messages we occasionally encounter that we just do not know what they relate to, even when it says it has resolved them.

To improve this, I recommend having more transparency on auto fix, the things that it fixes itself or resolves itself, just to know what it was resolving.

There should be more transparency on auto fix, such as messaging or alerts when it fixes itself or if it breaks itself.

Sometimes it is not very clear because it is working in the background. That is better if the AI is supposed to, but it says, 'We have resolved this.' I wonder what the actual problem was.

I have been using it for nearly six years.

It is easy to scale for a larger number of users because we have purchased licenses regularly to expand when we expand.

There are no problems with scalability at all because as we get more people, we just add another item or Sophos appliances, and then we are good to go.

We only faced a couple of minor issues during the last upgrade when we went from 18 to 20, but those got sorted out because of configuration, or how things are done differently. Nothing major.

I would rate the stability as pretty stable.

I would rate it a 10 because it is very rarely down.

The biggest benefit of Sophos Central for me is that it works.

Regarding reliability, you do not know until you have a problem, but we have not had anything major or any problems at the moment, so hopefully that will continue.

The solution's performance drops at times because it is a SaaS-based tool, making it an area that requires improvement. Some customers have complained about the tool's slowness. When we click on certain menus, it gets really slow, and when my company reached out to Sophos's team, they said that this is normal behavior. Customers have always complained about the product's slowness.

I have been Sophos Central using for a year and a half.

I have not faced any stability issues with the product. Sometimes, the product gets slow.

It is a SaaS-based tool that can scale up quite easily without a problem.

The technical support for the solution is good, and they responded pretty quickly since our company has a good relationship with Sophos. At times, whenever we need some urgent support, we can push it to our own local contacts. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.

In terms of the benefits derived from the use of the product, I would say that we have a good kind of expertise with Sophos Central, so that is why we are comfortable with the tool internally within our organization.

The tool improves security posture overall since Sophos has multiple products, such as a firewall, SASE, and SD-WAN. The tool integrates very well with many products. The solution can serve as one or a single integrated tool for managing multiple products. The tool is mostly integrated with the suite of products offered by Sophos, not with some other solutions.

The tool provides very good visibility of all the endpoints. The product offers anti-ransomware capabilities.

The product has some AI features that help give recommendations to users. The tool has some automation options.

I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

I use the solution in my company to manage client firewalls. It is also used to manage all the endpoints.

The solution's most valuable feature is the ease with which admins can monitor and troubleshoot issues related to any emails coming into our environment with malware or viruses. The malware and viruses get blocked with the antivirus endpoint functions offered by Sophos.

I am okay with the product. I don't need any more features in the solution since it is already too large of a system.

The solution has new services that are a big improvement from Sophos and Tron, but my company hasn't utilized them because we don't need them. There are no customizations that we need to deal with in the product. My company is satisfied with the current features offered by the tool.

Compared to GFI KerioControl, Sophos Firewall can be made much faster at setting up VPN clients and site-to-site VPNs.

I have been using Sophos Central since 2017. My company operates as a reseller of the product. My company has a partnership with Sophos.

It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

My company has used only two products, GFI KerioControl and Sophos. We only use Sophos for the endpoints. If we talk about firewall products, there are two different computations in GFI KerioControl and Sophos Firewall. Both the tools are easy to maintain, but compared to Sophos Firewall, GFI KerioControl is much faster at setting up VPN clients and site-to-site VPNs. Both the tools are pretty good for protecting offices with site-to-site connectivity.

The product's initial setup phase is straightforward. If ten were the easiest, I would rate the setup phase as a ten on a scale of one to ten.

Once you have the endpoint software through Splashtop SOS on the client's desktop, install and download the program. In less than five minutes, it can be installed and protected.

Only one person is required to deploy the product through Splashtop SOS.

The product does not require maintenance since it is not an automatically managed process.

The solution is deployed using the cloud services offered by Sophos.

In terms of ROI, the tool pays off within a few months. The tool has big clients with good businesses that are maintained on the tool, so the firewalls are not that much for them.

There is a one-time fee for the hardware and an annual subscription fee, which is pretty good because we can get free updates.

In terms of the product's integration capabilities with other security tools, I would say that they are centralized and easy to manage. You just click on the customer and launch that customer, and you will see everything from that customer, including all the endpoints and firewalls that are being monitored.

I don't know whether the product offers any AI features.

I am not really keen to find out if the product offers features like predictive analytics or automated responses.

As an admin, it will give you a feeling of ease since your endpoints are protected, meaning the real computers are protected from viruses and malware.

I rate the tool a ten out of ten.

While Sophos Central has demonstrated commendable functionality, there is room for improvement in the realm of automation. Specifically, addressing ransomware attacks often requires leveraging external tools, deploying virtual machines, and utilizing supplementary tools like Caliper Analytics for operations and security communication. The integration of these essential functionalities directly into the software would represent a significant enhancement, streamlining the incident response process and bolstering the platform's comprehensive threat mitigation capabilities.

Furthermore, a valuable addition to future releases could involve augmenting the new screen component with advanced capabilities such as XML utilization and rule integration. This enhancement, especially pertinent to tools involved in sandboxing and virtual machines within the investigation process, would greatly streamline the analysis of logs and reports. We oversee the management of approximately 400 to 500 endpoint devices, leveraging Sophos Central's robust scalability features. In our assessment, we would rate the platform's scalability at seven out of ten. Additionally, the implementation of firewalls further contributes to our comprehensive network security strategy.

The effectiveness of technical support is contingent upon the internal capabilities of our organization. We rely on our proficient IT team for supplementary information and any physical interventions required for device maintenance.

The initial setup was straightforward.

Deployment is highly efficient, requiring only one person to identify all the endpoint systems.

The client benefits from cost-effective ROI as the firewall infrastructure is efficiently maintained with a small team managing 500 devices. This approach is valuable for management, optimizing resource use, and managing time.

The cost is quite affordable.

Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.

We use the product to maintain uptime during the configuration process. It monitors device security as well.

The platform’s most valuable feature is seamless integration with other Sophos products, including Sophos Firewall, Sophos AV, and their Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service. It helps manage all the components from one centralized portal.

We have been using Sophos Central for two and a half years.

It is the most stable version out of all the firewalls by Sophos Central. I rate the stability a nine or ten.

The technical support services are good.
