SUSE Rancher Reviews

My primary use case for SUSE Rancher is managing Kubernetes clusters, allocating them to different users, and monitoring workloads. I manage all cluster-related activities through Rancher.

The most valuable features of SUSE Rancher include the user interface and the display features. The interface allows me to access basic usage and cloud statistics without needing to run commands.

I believe additional features for a paid solution should be included, such as more detailed insights, better graphics, and an improved user interface.

I have been using Rancher for almost one year.

The product has been stable over the last year.

Previously, I used solutions like Kubeflow and others. For SUSE, Rancher seems to be the best option. It offers support which the other open-source solutions do not, even though they have more features.

For basic usage, I would recommend SUSE Rancher. The other solution provides more features but lacks support. There is a trade-off based on how many resources you have to manage these tools. 

I would rate the solution six out of ten.

I use SUSE Rancher for managing containers in logistical applications.

The best features that SUSE Rancher offers include the unique interface for clusters, such as AKS, EKS, and GKE, which facilitate operation support.

This feature helped my team by providing a unique interface that makes operations easier, especially since we have many different interfaces to work with.

SUSE Rancher offers features that are not complex.

SUSE Rancher has positively impacted my organization as productivity is the main point. The productivity has improved because the main project goal was to finish the project faster, which was particularly important since we have many applications.

I do not think SUSE Rancher can be improved.

As a presales engineer, I have been using SUSE Rancher for about two years.

SUSE Rancher is stable.

SUSE Rancher's scalability is good.

I have not needed to reach out for help or assistance with customer support.

I have not previously used a different solution, and this customer has had SUSE Rancher since the beginning.

Regarding the pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I find that the licensing is good.

I did not evaluate other options and only used SUSE Rancher.

I do not have anything else to add about my main use case with SUSE Rancher.

I recommend SUSE Rancher because of the unique interface, the easy licensing, and the customer-friendly pricing. I rate this product a 9.

We are working with Rancher Desktop to run Kubernetes on local machines for testing and development purposes. We also conduct POCs to explore how our APIs will work before publishing them to Kubernetes.

Rancher Desktop provides support for Kubernetes setup on local machines. It allows us to run Kubernetes as per our requirement, and the desktop application offers a good UI. We use Rancher Desktop for local development, testing APIs locally, and it helps to seamlessly publish to the cloud. This makes it a valuable tool for developers.

Some initial setup and configuration were required by the admin side for enabling security policies, which were not supported initially. Improvements can be made in these configurations.

It's still new for us as we've just started working with it.

The tool is working fine with SUSE without any downtimes, technical issues, or critical errors. It's up and running within a minute.

Rancher Desktop takes information from the local machine, which is not scalable. However, our APIs will ultimately be published to Kubernetes on the cloud.

We have not contacted Rancher's vendor technical support team as it wasn't necessary.

The initial setup required some configurations from the admin side, particularly for enabling security policies.

There are other people in our company who have worked with Rancher before, so we didn't require external support.

Rancher is free of cost for us as it is open source. However, there might be costs involved when using Kubernetes on cloud services.

We have explored Oracle AI features and Gemini from Google and other databases. We are currently evaluating if Oracle AI features will meet our requirements.

I would definitely recommend Rancher to other users. However, some security policies were not supported initially, which could be improved in future releases.
