| IT Consultant at College Notre Dame de Nazareth | 3.0 | I use this for a school program, finding it stable and scalable. However, it lacks security, has complex setup, and infrequent updates. I rate it 6/10, preferring SQL Server for better features. |
| Automation Project Manager at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees | 3.5 | I use SAP SQL Anywhere for Power BI reporting, finding its interface intuitive and easy. While generally stable and scalable, I've had occasional stability issues with large data queries. I rate it 7/10. |
| SAP Team Lead at Alsaidi Chemiclas | 5.0 | We use SAP SQL Anywhere for production processes, finding it very helpful and worth the investment. However, it could improve by incorporating functionalities similar to SAP S/4HANA. We haven't considered or used any alternative solutions, and cloud providers aren't mentioned. |
| SAP Consultant at a tech services company with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.5 | I find SAP SQL Anywhere a good, user-friendly product with excellent auto-backup replication and easy setup. Its pricing is good, but I've experienced issues with backup licensing and difficult recovery, with solutions sometimes taking days. |

We primarily use the solution for a school program.
It works well in general.
The solution can scale.
It is fairly stable.
It is not as good as a SQL Server. I prefer to work with the SQL Server for Microsoft or Oracle. These are better as there are some comments on SQL Anywhere that makes me feel that I'm blocked. We'd like to have them update to a new version. They should update more often.
I find I can't move to a new version without running tests as there are chances of bugs that can get into my system.
The initial setup is not simple or straightforward, and it took a while to deploy.
It is not as secure as it could be. This is an aspect they need to improve. There needs to be more encryption.
I've been using the solution for three or four years.
The solution is stable enough. It is reliable.
However, it is not very secure. We can find passwords very easily.
The product can scale.
We only have three or four users on the solution. In contrast, I have 50 to 150 users on my SQL Anywhere software. We may increase usage.
I've never spoken to technical support.
I also use SQL Server, which is better. We've also used SQL Anywhere.
The solution is now easy to set up. It's a complex process. It took us about one year to develop it out.
We have three or four people able to handle deployment or maintenance.
I did get the advice of a consultant. I'd recommend others to also use a consultant.
We bought the license four years ago.
I'm not sure if I would recommend the solution to others.
I would rate it, overall, six out of ten. It could be easier to use and more secure.
We use SAP SQL Anywhere because we have a lot of Power BI reports that connect with the SQL database that we have for our robotic process automation data. We create procedures and other elements within the solution.
The most valuable features of SAP SQL Anywhere are the ease of use and the user interface is intuitive.
I have been using SAP SQL Anywhere within the last 12 months.
We have had some stability issues with SAP SQL Anywhere, but I am not sure if it is an application or network issue. We sometimes have a large amount of data being queried and it cannot handle it.
Nine out of ten times the solution is stable.
SAP SQL Anywhere is scalable. We are doing some SQBI within SAP and it is able to handle it.
This is an intuitive solution that should be utilized. It has its own features and capabilities that stand this out from the other solutions.
I rate SAP SQL Anywhere a seven out of ten.
We use the solution for production processes.
SAP SQL Anywhere is very helpful.
SAP SQL Anywhere needs to incorporate functionalities like SAP S/4HANA.
I have been working with the product for more than a year.
The product is reliable and stable. I rate it ten out of ten.
I rate the product's scalability a ten out of ten. We use the product daily. My company has around 30 years.
I rate the tool's deployment a four out of ten. It takes one month to complete. My team has four members to complete the deployment and two resources to handle the maintenance.
An integrator helped us with the deployment.
The tool is worth its money.
SAP SQL Anywhere is affordable.
I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
The auto-backup replication is a perfect feature. That is the feature I liked the most.
I also like that we can reduce the size as needed for the cache.
In SAP HANA, you have to write a query in double-quotes which is very easy, interesting, and user-friendly.
A problem we are experiencing now is when doing a backup in SQL 2012 and 14 there's a problem with the license. It's an automatic backup and does not get scheduled in version 12.
I have been using SAP SQL Anywhere for eleven years.
The stability is very good because it is user-friendly. My customers also mean customer users, who are very flexible with their SQL, with SAP. Because they can write or export any queries or any reports on their own if they want to.
But in HANA, it's not difficult to connect routers. SQL is much more comfortable for everyone.
Scalability is good, the recovery is good. The stability is very nice.
I have encountered one or two issues. But one of my recent customers crashed their server. Backup recovery is hard, you are unable to do the backup. After the key backup, that backup is done during the install.
In our office, we have one database expert for SQL. As I understand, we can easily get answers from Google or any search engine. It took a few days to figure out a solution to a problem we were experiencing.
The initial setup is straightforward. It's very easy to download and run. It's like "next, next, next" and you put the server name and then create a password, and that's it. Then it's done.
I am satisfied with the pricing. It's a lot cheaper than other solutions.
I would rate SAP SQL a nine out of ten. It's a good product and easy to work with.

We've found the solution very reliable overall. It's very fast.
I don't have any experience dealing with technical support.
We have a complex solution, so the initial setup was not easy on Microsoft SQL in the past. The setup with SQL was easier.
SQL Anywhere cost us about $400.
Right now, we are changing to SQL MUL because Microsoft SQL is not so good.
SQL Anywhere is easy and it did not cost as much as SQL Microsoft. SQL Microsoft was slow, especially with the huge amount of data that we have, but SQL Anywhere is faster for the deployment of our data.
For us, our customers were trying to figure out how to pay less, and the answer was SQL Anywhere. We found SAP SQL Anywhere more efficient than the SQL Server. We change all our submissions to SQL Anywhere. SQL Server is very good, but SQL Anywhere is better, at least, that's what we've found in our experience.
SQL Anywhere is not complex, SQL Server is very complex, but we can create a procedure in SQL Anywhere and it's very simple to do so. It can even create a report for VMB. We recently created one and it was easy.
I would rate this solution seven out of ten.
SAP SMP/SUP was useful for developing services and syncing mobile packages.
We used to design a mobile app for our application which integrates to SAP PI/ERP/CRM system.
Performance issues when syncing the MBO packages to the server.
One year.
No.
No.
It was good.
This is the first solution we have used.
Sysadmins did the setup, I only took care of the database side of it. But as per my research, it's complex to set up a clustered environment rather than a standalone setup.
I have no idea about pricing, the Architecture Team takes care of that.
No.
It's a great product to use if you are already have an integration with SAP's ERP/CRM systems. We were a Microsoft Azure SaaS based application provider and, hence, we moved to Azure Mobile Service in later releases of our product.
