|---|---|---|
| Senior Integration Consultant at a computer software company with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I use TIBCO Managed File Transfer for its centralized administration and compliance with FIPS 140, but it needs improvements in automated deployment and API management integration. Switching from Infor Cloverleaf reduced our costs by 20%. |
| Associate Consultant at Tata Consultancy | 3.5 | I find TIBCO File Managed Transfer stable for automated file transfers, requiring less coding after a complex and expensive initial setup. While its cloud product is not yet stable, I recommend it for on-premises use, advising new users to review documentation. |
| Principal Consultant at a computer software company with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.0 | We use TIBCO Managed File Transfer for secure and fast file transfers, supporting FTP, SFTP, and link-based downloads. Its enterprise-level tool offers excellent multi-factor authentication. While it meets our needs, the UI could improve for better integration. |

I use TIBCO Managed File Transfer in my company since it is a straightforward SFTP server useful for API.
I think the product helped my company since it provided some standardized protocols and alleviated a custom-handled solution we were using.
The most valuable feature of the solution is its ability to do centralized administration. I think that tool complies with FIPS 140, a government-standardized norm regulatory requirement because of which we needed it for our use.
I think some of the automated deployment features could use some assistance, which is an area where it currently lacks. The product needs some ability to help it with the deployment model, which is a little difficult.
Some support for the area revolving around PGP protocols in the product would be helpful.
I think TIBCO could try to integrate better with API management software. TIBCO is a fairly solid product, but integration with some API management software should provide a better selling point since TIBCO would have some great API management capabilities.
I have been using TIBCO Managed File Transfer for twelve years. I use TIBCO Managed File Transfer Version 8.5.0.
Some challenges with the stability part of the solution were mostly easy to overcome, so stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten since it offers nice features.
From a trading partner perspective, I think there are about 50 users of the product, and if I consider the actual users within our organization, we have around 15 users.
My company plans to increase the usage of TIBCO Managed File Transfer in the future.
The solution's technical support is very attentive. I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.
Positive
In the past, my company was using a tool named Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite. My company was not getting any value from the use of Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite.
The product's initial setup phase was complex.
The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.
Four people from my company were required to manage the deployment phase of the product. My company did see some help from TIBCO during the solution's deployment process.
With some assistance from TIBCO's team, my company's team members took care of the solution's deployment process.
My company did experience the use of TIBCO Managed File Transfer. My company also witnessed a decrease in the overall cost after switching from Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite, which we had to pay for every time we used it. In my company, we were able to simplify some transfers, which couldn't be controlled with Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite. I don't know if my company has ever calculated a return on investment related to the solution, but I am sure that we have seen a 20 percent decrease in our overall costs.
The price is very good for the complexity that the tool provides.
Against TIBCO, my company had considered IBM and Axway.
TIBCO Managed File Transfer does have yearly releases as part of its maintenance process.
I think TIBCO Managed File Transfer works best in a hybrid cloud situation where, you know, you have a self-managed cloud, making it an area where it can excel well.
I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.

There are some external users, and they do some file transfers from external users to internal security. They can distribute files to different places, from Windows to Unix.
There's less coding involved, and the entire process is automatic. We just need to configure it and maybe write some small scripts. It is easy.
TIBCO has its own integration tool. Customers use the TIBCO BW plug-ins to integrate with the Managed File Transfer if they need to do an ad hoc file transfer.
The solution is stable.
They have to go into the cloud. Their cloud product is not yet stable. Our organization wants to go into the cloud.
The initial setup isn't necessarily straightforward. They should streamline the installation. Everything should run on its own, so we don't have so much to confirm at the outset.
It is quite expensive.
I have around four to five years of experience using TIBCO File Managed Transfer.
The stability is fine once you install it and have everything up and running. We haven't had any issues. We haven't had any breakdowns.
We have 100 servers configured using the Managed File Transfer command center.
Two to three teams use Managed File Transfer since they are heavily into file activities in their projects. That may be 70 to 80 people using it.
I've never had to contact support.
It's an old implementation, so I'm not aware of what was used before.
It's not that easy to set up. There are two installations we have to do. There is one for the platform servers and one for the internet and the command centers. Also, there are some installations we need to run from database scripts, and there is a lot of configuration for that.
The customer has the command centers; you just have to manage all the users and activities on the file transfers. For that, you need to have a database configuration, so the scripts you also need to run.
How long it takes to deploy fully depends on how many servers you have to configure. Right now, we have 100 servers, so it takes time.
I'd rate the setup a six or seven out of ten.
While I don't have exact features, the solution comes at a huge cost.
On one project, the team is looking for solutions as they want to go to something else.
I'm a TIBCO partner.
On the latest last project, I used something around version two, and I use the platform version. They had three components, an internet server, a command center, and platform servers.
I'd advise new users to first review each component's documentation before they start using it. You have two or three installations, and after that, the platform servers, et cetera. Try to understand the product first.
I would recommend the solution.
I'd rate the solution a seven out of ten.
As the name suggests, we use it for managed file transfers. It's usually used to transfer files across to different parties, whether they are internal or external. It gives you an additional level of security when handling file transfers. The files can be initiated from regular FTP, SFTP, or agent-based items and enable users to have some link-based downloads. It's also very fast.
The solution allows users to transfer files of a GB within seconds independent of bandwidth. Files can be transported at a very fast rate.
This is an enterprise-level tool.
They have great multi-factor authentication for extra security.
It offers a very straightforward setup.
We have all of the features we need.
We're looking for some sort of surface improvement in the UI for API integration, which can be incorporated into some different software or the front end. The UI could be better.
I've been using the solution for six and a half years now.
The solution has been stable for a long time. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.
It is a scalable product.
Support can come in silver or gold packages. Consumers can select their level of support.
The solution is pretty straightforward to set up.
For the production environment, the deployment would only take about two working days.
It offers a very straightforward GUI for installation on Windows. It can be deployed anywhere you want, either on-premises or on the cloud.
There are two types of licensing - perpetual and yearly.
We're resellers.
I'd recommend the solution. It is very easy to use and there is ample documentation available publicly. The integration would be UI-based and pretty straightforward as it can be accessed from the browser. File transfers, once initiated, allow you to see the real-time status of the work.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
