We use the solution in our company for all kinds of automation, so we cannot specify anything.

Tosca as a tool has matured a lot with new scanning engines being added for different kinds of applications. Copilot and cloud based solutioning are some of new features

Before we bought Tricentis Tosca, we had around three tools, Selenium, Worksoft, and Provar. The amount of automation was distributed between these three tools. So it was always a challenge to maintain all these separate automated scripts. Also, you need to have experts on all these tools. So once we brought in Tosca, we actually removed the licenses for Worksoft and Provar.

The major advantage is that it supports all kinds of applications, so it can be either web-based automation or desktop application automation, SAP or other ERP, or the mainframe, Citrix applications. If you want to automate any kind of applications, you can use Tosca, which is not possible with tools like Selenium, Worksoft, or Provar. There are all application-specific solutions.

I think the downside would be licensing costs which are very high. Other than that, when it comes to any new issues, the tool is not supporting some features in the application, and then the need for customization comes as a drawback. These customizations are expensive, and we have to pay for them. Also, for integration with other tools like ALM or Jira we have to buy a Tosca connect license which again utilizes Tasktop tool for the integration. Using Tasktop to carryout the integration with Tosca and ALM or Jira is very time consuming and any kind of maintenance or support needs someone from Tasktop to have a look

I have been using Tricentis Tosca for three years.

My company has a partnership with Tricentis. We are also customers of the solution. I am using Tricentis Tosca 16.0 and now upgrading to 2024.

I face no challenges or stability issues.

Right now, it's around seventy people are using it in our company. More than that, it should be.

It is a scalable tool. It is extremely scalable.

The support is really good.

Our company had opted for platinum support, that is, like, twenty-four hours of service and support, and we are quite happy with the support. They'll come in and support. We face no issues.

I rate the support a ten out of ten.

The initial setup is really easy. The initial step is maybe around two hours of work to set up the server and all that. After that, it's very easy to give it and take it over to the testing team to start using it.

It takes two hours to deploy it.

Three people are required to install it, which includes one person from Tricentis, one person to set up the database server, and one of the automation admins from the company.

The solution is worth the money.

On a scale of one to ten, where one is very cheap and ten is very expensive, I rate the pricing a ten. The licensing model is based on a yearly basis.

For maintenance, only one person who is an admin is required.

The solution's features are good.

I think whoever wants to use it should understand the tool's capabilities first before taking a dive so they can try a PoC with the tool and then go ahead to use it. I rate the product a seven out of ten.

Tricentis Tosca has many use cases. Currently, we are using it for Salesforce testing. The solution can also be used for work safety testing and for API testing.

Tricentis Tosca supports multiple technologies, which means there is no need to use different tools for various tasks. In our current project, we are conducting Salesforce testing and API testing, both of which can be done using Tricentis Tosca. This makes it easier for us to test different technologies. Additionally, Tricentis Tosca is scalable, allowing us to easily create multiple combinations of test cases using templates by varying the data. Tricentis Tosca also offers distributed execution, enabling us to conduct parallel testing and execute a high number of test cases, depending on the number of agents we have available. This greatly speeds up the application testing process.

The scalability is a valuable feature of Tricentis Tosca.

Tricentis Tosca currently does not support any mobile testing and can be improved.

I am interested in exploring the features related to artificial intelligence that can help generate data feeds and assist in reducing the time required to design scripts. Therefore, I would like to see AI-related features in the upcoming phase.

The quality of the technical support and the response time has room for improvement.

I have been using Tricentis Tosca for over 20 years.

I give the stability of the solution a seven out of ten. In general, the stability is satisfactory; however, we encounter performance problems as the size of our repository increases.

I previously used Micro Focus UFT Developer. However, back then, there were significant differences between Micro Focus UFT and Tricentis Tosca.

The initial setup for a single data report is straightforward, however, if we are using multi-user repositories, it will require some experienced technical assistance.

I give the initial setup a seven out of ten.

The deployment duration may vary based on the infrastructure, but it typically takes a couple of hours.

If we don't need a multiple-user repository, we just download the installation file and proceed with the installation of Tricentis Tosca. However, a valid license is necessary to use the software. In the case of a multiple-user repository, connecting an SQL server to Tricentis Tosca becomes a prerequisite before we can start using the solution.

The implementation is completed in-house.

I give the cost of Tricentis Tosca a six out of seven. The solution is priced high.

I give Tricentis Tosca an eight out of ten.

We have up to 80 people using the solution.

I highly recommend Tricentis Tosca to others due to its extensive support for numerous technologies and platforms, making it a valuable tool.

We utilize Tricentis Tosca to reduce our release cycle timing for our SAP releases. We have at least one release every quarter. We also use it for automation.

We have to automate thousands of test cases and complete end-to-end SAP on business processes. To manually execute these tasks, it would take us at least two months. By automating these tasks using Tosca, now it takes five to 10 days maximum. Tricentis Tosca is a codeless or scriptless automation tool.

Test case design and test data management are the most valuable features for us.

With regard to areas of improvement, report customization should be easier. It would be good if Tosca could provide standard reports for at least 20 variants. At present, there are only three to four variants.

The mobile engine needs to be faster and easier to use; it is a bit cumbersome. Also, the object identification in the mobile engine needs improvement.

I would like to see easy-to-use customizations for reports in the next release.

I've been using Tricentis Tosca for the last nine years.

In terms of stability, I would rate the solution at nine out of ten.

I would rate Tosca's scalability at eight out of ten. We have 10 users and 10 exemption licenses in our organization. We plan to increase usage in the near future.

Initially, we were able to create a case. Right now, that function is not very useful. We also have to request remote access. In addition, sending large files is a bit cumbersome because our organization's policy does not allow us to upload anything to Tricentis' cloud or network.

Thus, I would rate technical support at six on a scale from one to ten.

We used Micro Focus UFT and SmartBear. UFT requires a framework each time, and SmartBear requires coding. Both of these solutions had limitations with regard to our enterprise-level technology stack, and therefore, we decided to go with Tricentis Tosca.

The initial setup is easy, and I would rate it at eight out of ten. The deployment process took at least 48 to 72 hours.

We deployed it ourselves with help from third-party teams. We had four people involved in the deployment including engineers and a manager.

If you are purchasing less than five licenses, then the pricing is high. On a scale from one to ten, with one being low and ten being high pricing, I would rate this solution at eight.

Tricentis Tosca does not provide much support for reports and mobile automation. The speed of execution of mobile automation is low. Also, test case creation and the creation of models take a lot of time in the mobile engine.

Overall, I would rate Tricentis Tosca at eight on a scale from one to ten with one being the worst and ten being the best.

We use Tricentis Tosca for test automation.

The most valuable feature of Tricentis Tosca is the Tosca Commander. Functionality is another thing I find most valuable in the solution.

What needs to be improved in Tricentis Tosca is its centralized repository mechanism because it's not as flexible. The repository in the solution where you store the data and the script for test automation is quite an old-fashioned mechanism that could be improved.

An additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of Tricentis Tosca is a distributed repository mechanism because it's required in the current installation for my company.

We have a contract with Tricentis Tosca, and we've been using the solution for six years now. We're using the latest version, which is version 14 because there was this bug called the Log4j.

Tricentis Tosca is a pretty stable solution.

In terms of scalability, that's a challenge in Tricentis Tosca. Scaling the solution is quite difficult because it uses only Windows environments, so it's not a good solution for scaling up. Right now, we rely on Windows, but we are moving to the cloud, so scaling Tricentis Tosca would be difficult for us.

The technical support for Tricentis Tosca isn't quick, but it's useful.

The initial setup for Tricentis Tosca was pretty straightforward.

Initially, for the deployment of Tricentis Tosca, we used a consultancy company, but now we do its deployment in-house.

In terms of the licensing costs for Tricentis Tosca, we are spending more or less $70,000 per year. We have a very complex mechanism because there are some business users and some BI users, so the licensing structure is not simple, but support is included.

My company is using Tricentis Tosca and is an end-user of the solution.

With the Tricentis Tosca installation that my company has, one person is enough for maintenance.

My advice to others looking into implementing Tricentis Tosca is to limit it. I would use it only for specific test automation requirements, and I wouldn't use it for other purposes because it's a very expensive solution.

My rating for Tricentis Tosca is seven out of ten.

We primarily use the solution for automation testing. It integrates with other DevOps pipelines. 

The solution has improved out time to release on production. Everything's automated now, which makes everything move faster. 

The solution is model-based. I know and that's the main reason we went there. We are also using Tosca BI, which is the BI module. We're using that regularly for most of our teams. We just purchased it for our Business Intelligence. We ran a POC and then we just purchased it. 

The initial setup isn't too difficult. 

The solution does not have one catch-all product. For example, if you wanted the DB for Business Intelligence, it's a different module that you have to purchase. If you want to do API testing, you need to buy a different module. If you want to do performance testing, which we haven't bought yet, you would need to buy another module. There are a lot of modules you have to buy in order to have full-blown testing capabilities. I understand that they're breaking them up so people who don't want everything aren't forced into things they won't use. However, for those that do want all of the functionality, it can get costly. 

We've been using the solution for probably two to three years so far. 

The stability of the solution is good. It doesn't crash or freeze. there aren't bugs or glitches. 

The solution can scale quite well. We have 16 groups using it. I don't know how many individuals are on it, however, it's likely there are five people per team. We usually don't go by user when we're counting.

We do plan to increase usage in the future. We use it quite extensively already. We may be moving some legacy tools over to it. 

Technical support has been good. We are satisfied with the level of support on offer. 

We used IBM Rational or Functional Tester and it was just outdated and we needed to go down the toolset. We also wanted something that we use as a data model. 

The initial wasn't complex, it was pretty easy, however, when we did the upgrade to the latest version, which is the new way of architecting, that was more of a challenge due to the fact that we're in multiple clouds. That was more of an issue for us to upgrade due to our multiple cloud environment.

We had to work with Tosca quite a bit to get that one done. Of course, there aren't too many folks who are doing what we're doing, so that might be part of it.

The deployment took a quarter of a year. We tried to install it in our environment and that's got a lot of rules in it, and therefore it took a while. For us, the security and architecture had to be approved before we put anything into our complex environment. It also took a while to train people up on it. 

We have three staff members that handle maintenance aspects, however, they also work on different tools as well. They are not full-time on just Tosca.

We hired some consulting hours from Tosca to help us with the tech. We ran a POC, which they helped us with. Then we did have some consulting hours - maybe 30 or so. We also had them train us. It was good.

They also have self-service training. They recommend you take the self-service training before you start working with the consultants. That way you know more, and then it doesn't take as much time with the consultants. 

While our teams are seeing a great benefit, I wouldn't say we see a return on investment. ROI can be subjective.

The solution is expensive. You can do multi-year or you can do yearly in terms of a licensing agreement. You can do whatever you want.

While it's a pricey solution, it's probably more stable and has more capabilities than some of the other solutions out there.

The only other cost, aside from choosing the modules you need, is the server costs as you need to put it somewhere. 

We did look at other options before choosing Tosca, however, I cannot recall which. It was a few years ago now. We did use Gartner to help narrow down our options. 

We are end-users and customers. 

We are using the latest version of the solution, although I can't speak t the exact version number. 

We have the solution on the AWS and Azure clouds and we also have it on-premises. 

I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. It's stable and it works, however, the cost is high. You also need a high level of knowledge in order to use it. You can't just pull someone off the street and make them a user. There's a definite learning curve. 

We use Tricentis Tosca for a workflow system and for SAP.

It works fine for regression tests on the workflow system. Old scripts still work fine in browser based application. Saved and still saves us a lot of time.

SAP embedded is quite an issue. When IE was discontinued we didn't manage to get it working with msedgedriver. The support of Tricentis is below expectation for all the money we spend on them.

Version 2023.2 has a number of issues which they don't fix until the next major release (Not telling when). Badly documentated new settings.

The most valuable features of Tricentis Tosca was the ease of use, but it is getting more and more difficult to use. It is almost impossible to use Tosca without programming knowledge. 

The way of creating modules is basically simple. But when you have the module it is trial and error method on settings to get them working in a testcase.

Tricentis Tosca could improve on the ease of use. There is a steep learning curve. The reporting section could be better and some of the new features could be simplified. Additionally, the user management of the client and the server are confusing. There should not be two.

I have been using Tricentis Tosca for approximately eight years.

Tricentis Tosca is stable. We have a few scripts that are running for a while now and there have not been any problems.

The scalability of Tricentis Tosca is good. We can add more users which is easy to do.

We have approximately five people who use the solution in my company.

The support from Tricentis Tosca is getting less good. When I have a problem I receive an answer. However, it is not always the answer that helps me to go on.

If we did not have Tricentis Tosca we would have to use three more testers to do everything manually. The solution has helped our company.

The price of Tricentis Tosca is approximately Є10,000 for one license. It used to be much cheaper, but they changed their license structure. It used to be a structure where if you bought a license you would receive one year of free support and maintenance. Now they only have a yearly license, and that is expensive. 

The price of the solution does not include all features available. If you need a BI solution or API testing, then you have to pay extra.

I rate the price of Tricentis Tosca a two out of five.

We did evaluate other options for stepping over to another testtool because of the current pricing and the poor support.

I would recommend this solution for browser testing because it's stable, and you can test a lot with it. It has a good user interface for testing and when managing you don't have to do a record all the time. It can be easy to maintain and use scripts.
For SAP and embedded browser apps it doesn't work fine.

Also it is not suitable anymore for users without a technical background.

Tricentis is a growing organization and Tosca is not holding the standards it used to have.

I rate Tricentis Tosca a six out of ten.

We use Tricentis Tosca to test workflows. 

I like how the modules are set up, particularly how you can use the screens you're automating. This automation helps save both time and money because we use less test capacity regarding personnel.

You can scan an entire browser or application window and define all the controls you want to steer, which you can reuse. In other tools, you have to define each control individually, so this feature in Tricentis Tosca is quite nice.

Product quality has declined as it grows, and its updates aren't without fault. The process of resolving problems has slowed, and as it expands into other areas like NeoLoad and other testing tools, the product becomes more complicated. It used to be a small firm with a clear goal, but as it grows, the quality has been affected.

I have been working with the product for eight years. 

I am not satisfied with the tool's technical support. Sometimes, they provide a hint when contacting support, and we figure out the solution ourselves. There are instances where they acknowledge an issue but say they won't solve it until the next release, which might be over half a year away. The response time is quick, but the support is not always very helpful.

The tool is expensive. It has become overpriced, especially after Tricentis Tosca grew as a company. Initially, we bought a license with an annual support fee, which wasn't too expensive. However, they changed the model, and now we have to purchase a license yearly, which has become quite costly.

I rate the overall product a seven out of ten. 

The solution has streamlined the regression testing process by integrating with Solution Manager.

The most valuable feature is automating regression testing scripts linked with Solution Manager. This functionality supports our current requirement for automated testing without utilizing other features like LiveCompare.

One major area for the product's improvement is simplifying the synchronization process of test cases between Tricentis Tosca and Solution Manager. It has been a challenge and could be streamlined to enhance user experience.

I have been using Tricentis Tosca for approximately six months.

The product is stable.

The technical support services are generally good, though there are areas for improvement regarding response time and overall competence.

The initial setup was straightforward. However, synchronization of scripts from Solution Manager to Tosca was a critical part that required careful handling.

The product's database capacity should be increased. The product has certain shortcomings in cloud storage. From an improvement perspective, cloud storage must offer more features.

I have been using Tricentis Tosca for a year. I am a user of the solution.

The product is not very stable when used with cloud storage. It is very hard to load the screen, making it difficult to use the tool in cloud storage.

Speaking about the feature of the product that has the largest impact on our company's testing process, I would say that I use Selenium to take care of the coding part. In Tricentis Tosca, we can't use Git code, considering the user-based experience and UI for the testing process.

Speaking about the codeless test creation feature in Tricentis Tosca, I would say that in some of the software where the quality assurance team does the verification, Selenium is used by quality analysts. In Selenium, we used to write the codes to check basic stuff. In Tricentis Tosca, we don't have to write any scripts.

Integrating the product into my company's CI/CD pipeline affected the release cycles in a good way.

For beginners, the product is good, especially for those who are interested in the quality side of software testing.

Considering the emerging trends in the automation space, I would say that Tricentis Tosca is a good software.

Tricentis Tosca is well integrated with other products like Jira. It's also relatively easy to use and doesn't need experience or a specific skill set.

A couple of times, we approached Tricentis Tosca's technical support and got the answers to our questions.

Tricentis Tosca was already configured and running. The installation took 10 to 15 minutes, and access and setup were very, very quick.

We did not need any assistance for the solution's implementation. It could be done without any help.

Tricentis Tosca is not expensive at all. Tricentis Tosca's licensing cost seems to be in line with other products. We're currently using a per-user license because there are only four or five users. I rate Tricentis Tosca an eight out of ten for pricing.

I use the latest version of Tricentis Tosca. The solution does not require any maintenance because it is all done automatically by the vendor.

I've not found any issues with Tricentis Tosca, and I would recommend it to other users.
