Nutanix provides the most efficient VDI solution, for all types of uses, and yes, in this specific case, for graphic intense usage.
I was first introduced to Nutanix at a 'Lunch & Learn' in Miami in 2013, and after a brief 15 minutes I challenged the Nutanix team for a proof of concept, as I needed an affordable but efficient solution to a project, and what I was hearing seemed impossible and improbable.
I became a convert after Nutanix passed all my evaluations, and came in below budget. Within 2 years I consolidated 3 Data Centers to 2, moved all my systems to Nutanix (VDI, DB, ERP, etc).
The Nutanix management interface had all the info in a single-HTML5 display. Today, that interface is incredibly packed with all you need to manage any environment.
Need to immediately see your VDI thresholds, or run simulations on upcoming projects, implement updates during production, see your network connections, manage change control....its all there.
I would advise, as I did, you implement a 'bake-off' as some of my clients do, get a Proof-Of-Concept' (POC) of any system you are considering, or as in this case, Nutanix & Simplivity. Evaluate the installation and the system management, review the support, and their installed base across all various types of use cases globally.

Technology today should not be an area that challenges your resources, it needs to work, pure and simple. Nutanix does just that, you install it, and you move on, its as easy as breathing.
We are currently using SimpliVity in our environment. It works well with AutoCAD as well as ESRI. We have been using it for close to two years and have not had any issues with it. SimpliVity has supported the NVidia GRID cards since deployment. We originally looked at Nutanix but they did not support it a couple of years ago.
SimpliVity has numerous advantages with its deduplication as well as its compression ratios. We are saving a huge amount of disk space for our backups and we are also able to replicate all of our VMs to another off site SimpliVity cluster so that we have a true DR that we can spin up if anything bad happens.

Both Can support however will advise to go with Nutanix considering features like - multi hypervisor support, Data locality , nVidia M6, M60 for intensive use Simplivity reserving good amount of Memory for Write cache .. I would advise to check latest Simplivity white paper for more information .. Assuming post Simplivity acquisition by HPE lot of new changes being introduced ..

Yes - but would have to talk with Nutanix to disclose those client references. One of them is a major auto manufacturer.
I know they both have it, but I was wondering if anyone was currently using them for Autodesk/Adobe.
Yes - Nutanix has Invidia Nodes which can handle graphic intensive VDI usage. If I can be of any other help please let me know.
