My advice to someone considering NetApp ASA is to choose the solution which provides more scalability and flexibility. I rate this product 9 out of 10.
I am a storage IT specialist at Aruba S.p.A. Italy. Since the start of working with NetApp ASA, I have seen benefits in that we need a very low latency connection between data centers, and the failover from one data center to another is very fast, quick and reliable. We never lose any LAN or service with this solution. In my point of view as a storage administrator, I have deployed NetApp ASA in a multi-environment setup. As a storage administrator, I can only see everything as a LAN. We are not aware of what the LANs actually contain; however, they are very reliable, mostly efficient with VMware infrastructures since Microsoft Hyper-V proves to be very sensitive and delicate. On a scale of 1-10, I rate NetApp ASA a 9.
