I have been working with Oracle Reports for the past one and a half years, primarily focusing on migration of reports. Oracle has started de-supporting the reports, necessitating migration to JasperReports or other reporting tools. We have evaluated JasperReports as the most viable solution, being commercially less expensive compared to other reporting solutions. We are working on migrating Oracle Reports to JasperReports, building the architecture and approach. Our reports are highly customizable as customers require specific formats. Oracle Reports has comparatively more features for customization. Developers working with the new solution need multiple skills including JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL for our complex, customized reports. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate Oracle Reports a 9, noting that Oracle is having difficulty finding report resources.
I used Oracle Reports on the E-Business Suite and on the Oracle cloud. Oracle Reports is a really good tool. It would be good to have a tool that provides flexibility in extracting or querying the data. Otherwise, Oracle Reports is pretty good for developing the reports. Oracle Reports has improved our financial reporting and analysis overall. The solution's template design has benefited our reporting. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Oracle Reports is a big name in the market. It's good but I have heard that it is costly. The architectural report is good, this solution is stable, and it's easy to work with. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
