What advice do you have for others considering Sophos XGS?

I am currently using Sophos XGS. I have a Sophos firewall and endpoint antivirus. I am using the XG and XGS series, specifically the XGS 3300. I am not working with the real-time threat mitigation functionality. Sophos XGS has enabled my processes to run smoothly and provides the main benefits of saving time, saving money, and streamlining processes. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10 overall.

With Sophos XGS, there are no limitations on the number of users, and the setup is easy. I would recommend that those planning to use Sophos XGS find it easy to use and deploy, and it works well, but they may need another tool for better visibility. Sophos XGS helps to identify threats effectively, but it relies on the rules set in the IPS and IDS policies. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Sophos XGS an eight.

I use Sophos XGS in my organization and would recommend it to other organizations. This product is very useful, and I rate it 10 out of 10. I exclusively use Sophos XGS without any other vendors. I perform maintenance for Sophos XGS in-house without using third-party services. My maintenance team consists of three to four members. I am working for a sub-35 distributor of Rajasthan, which represents the overall number of users for Sophos XGS in my company. In general, Sophos XGS is rated appropriately for about 100 users, or possibly a couple hundred.

I would recommend using Sophos. We push Sophos to most of our clients. Almost 99% of them use it. Only a few clients prefer FortiGate due to company policies, and some use Check Point, but we mostly recommend Sophos XGS. Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. When compared to older versions, after the 2021 update, there have been significant improvements. Routing has become easier, and integration with third-party platforms like Azure and IPsec is seamless. Creating policies for different VLAN compliance requirements is also simpler, and the flexibility now is much better than earlier versions.

Sophos XGS does use AI, particularly for sandboxing and analyzing suspicious documents in the cloud. It’s practical, as I haven’t had any major security breaches in the past five years.Overall, I’d rate Sophos XGS as nine out of ten. It has improved significantly over the years.

The solution provides threat intelligence capabilities, but some other tools are much better than Sophos XGS. I would recommend the solution to other users. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

I recommend what my customer needs and what fulfills their requirements. I suggest products based on price, quality, scalability, and reliability. Customers now ask for specific features at a certain price, not product names. I'm a system integrator and face technical support problems before implementation. I need pre-sales tech reports. If the distributor and support are good, I'll support that product even if the price is high. Urgent deliveries can be a problem if distributors don't cooperate. I don't blame any product; all are good nowadays. Cisco products have high prices and compatibility issues. Fortinet has easy power replacement, while the tool needs specific adapters. I rate Sophos XGS seven to eight out of ten. Some models are very good, others not so much. It depends on the project, market, price, and features needed. Nowadays, we have to integrate everything. Most products support this at some level.

We are using and selling the solution. We are deploying it for different customers. When the customer wants to buy an appliance, definitely it's an on-prem solution. However, when it comes to an endpoint or a firewall as a service, they offer cloud solutions as well. I'd recommend the solution to others. I would rate the solution seven out of ten.

We are using the latest version of the solution. We're customers. I'd recommend the solution. It has pretty good functionality and good pricing. It's a good product. I'd rate the solution a seven out of ten.

We are a Sophos Gold partner. We have multiple firewalls on multiple OS versions. Basically, we do have two major pieces of software installed in the firewall, which are 1854 MR4 and the latest release, 1801. There are multiple criteria when making a decision about whether to go with Sophos or maybe another firewall. It depends on the client's requirements as well as their budget. I'd rate the solution five out of ten.

Because it's such a new product for us, I would need some more time to determine whether there are any issues with bugs or hardware failure, so for now I would rate Sophos XGS an eight out of ten because it otherwise ticks all the boxes for us in terms of features.

This is a good product for small and medium enterprises. I can't say how it performs in a large environment. It is a very stable solution. Just like every other product, you need to have someone that has the necessary skill set to manage it. Somebody needs to learn how to set it up and configure it depending on the environment.

Sophos SGS is a nice solution. I would rate this solution an 8 out of 10.

We do not have any complaints from our customers and have the functionality that our partners and customers need. I rate Sophos XGS a ten out of ten.

There are multiple models of Sophos XGS that we use, e.g. we use both desktop and 1U sized models. Sophos XGS can be fully cloud managed, and it's possible to deploy it directly from the cloud, that you installed the hardware, and maybe I have to use an ESB key, though I'm not sure. We haven't tried deploying it that way yet. The only difference between Sophos XGS and Sophos XG is the software version that is supported on the hardware. The difference will be when the version 19 software comes up, as it will not work on Sophos XG. I recommend Sophos XGS to others who are thinking of implementing it. I recommend for them to use it. Sophos firewall can be also used without additional firewall, but we strongly suggest using Standard license, which offers application filtering and IDS/IPS.
