The pricing is expensive, but it makes sense given the benefits and value it provides when purchased for a bank. There is a reason behind this high price. However, for medium-sized organizations, it may be too expensive. For a bank, it makes sense to purchase a solution that provides an isolated environment when ransomware hits. Because when you are hit by a ransomware attack, even the backup itself and the storage itself will be encrypted completely by the ransomware. Therefore, you should have a safe place that isolates the environment and locks the door completely.

Pricing was very clear and actually not as bad as I thought. When I was going into this whole thing of getting a Cyber Vault, I was worried about enormous hardware costs and licensing, and that was not the case. Dell created a solution that was able to fit my needs and allowed me to have a Cyber Vault that I knew was very important and critical.

We have been very satisfied with the pricing, licensing, and setup costs of Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery. It was extremely competitive when we went through the evaluation with its peer. At the end of the day, we did add on other components, and I think sometimes the piecemealing could be better. I understand why they do that, but from a customer perspective, if they had a general license, it would be beneficial. It was definitely competitive, but it could be improved.
Regarding pricing, I find it a lot cheaper than Veeam. With Veeam, you have to license every asset, but here you can also do it on capacity. Pricing-wise, it is better than Veeam, but I am not quite aware of the exact prices.

I am not commenting on the price, setup cost, or license because I am a technical person and do not have knowledge about the cost. My management is deciding that part.
I do not consider Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery to be expensive as it provides value relative to the ransom that would need to be paid to restore data and the difficulties faced after an attack. It is crucial to have this solution because ransomware attacks are common. I suggest having special bundling for SMB customers.

The pricing for Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery is acceptable due to our enterprise licensing agreement, so a lot of what we do is built into the license, although some of the licensing of the hardware could be better because as we go into the bigger hardware, the price per terabyte is a little more, but it is something we are working with our account team to address.
