The school paid the charges to operate Google Classroom, and it was included in my child's fees. I did not pay anything to get Google Classroom. My child's school made payments on a subscription-based model to use Google Classroom.
Google Classroom is free to use. You can pay extra for an upgraded license. We've never seen the benefit of doing that because it does everything that we want it to do.
There are some costs for other services; there are some costs associated with Google Classroom. The schools here think it's too expensive, even though it's reasonably priced. So, it's quite expensive. I would rate it between seven, so it's relatively expensive. The license model is per year based. If you buy the devices, there may be additional costs.

For education, the setup cost is very cheap since there is no charge.
