It is not expensive. The storage is not expensive, like IBM storage. As soon as the support of your Optus Storage is very low, there's a financial benefit for us. I rate the product’s pricing a ten out of ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap.

Huawei's prices are very good compared to those of its competitors. NetApp offers tools, but my company has faced some challenges in terms of pricing. Huawei's price is better than that of Dell EMC and all the other major brands. The product offers voltages meant for European and American brands. The tool has similar technology to that of every other product. In Pakistan, most customers are moving from Dell EMC to Huawei because of the difference in costs and the features that both provide.
Huawei solutions are expensive. It provides them with a fixed cost and access to modern storage technology with advanced durability and software capabilities like Apache.
This product is fairly priced. EMC storage with similar specifications was offered to us at double the cost. This was around 20 million local currency, while Dell EMC was 40 million. Almost double the price. That's why we went with Huawei, even though Dell EMC was our initial preference due to their high cost. OceanStor is much cheaper.

As a salesperson, I always prefer lower prices from the manufacturer because it makes it easier for me to secure orders. However, the solution itself is very good and customers tend to like it. Dell entered the market in 2017, and they marketed their solutions as the cheapest and best option, which helped them secure the most orders in Pakistan. Their strategy was to offer a good solution at a competitive price. I rate the price of Huawei OceanStor an eight out of ten.

Huawei have de better price, an intuitive and easy UI for maintance and operation, and the license mechanism is perpetual, you don´t need to paying all years

Since Huawei is a Chinese product we've got the tendency to think that it is very cheap. But Huawei is not that cheap. We compared Huawei's price before purchasing. We compared costs per GB to other suppliers, as well. We compared the cost to EMC and NetApp, which are quite nimble solutions. We had to also evaluate the local support that is in our country. We evaluated other criteria, as well. After these evaluations we chose Huawei. It was not only cost. Basically it's not the cheapest but it's in the mid-pricing. We've got the high end, the mid-price, then we've got the low end. Huawei would be in the middle. I will keep it general and not provide a detailed analysis in terms of storage and the All-Flash requirements. In this case, people, especially application guys, should understand that All-Flash is not for all applications. This is important because of the cost of All-Flash compared to other storage solutions. In fact, you need to emphasize this very well and tell application guys that you're spending a lot of money on All-Flash when it's not really required. In my opinion, this is the main thing. Otherwise, you end up upgrading and upgrading and it's quite a budget for All-Flash compared to other storage.
