I do not know the current licensing cost for IBM Storage Protect and how we get our support because our licensing model is not quite standard. We do not buy IBM Storage Protect direct from IBM. We buy our licensing through an IBM reseller, but IBM white boxes that to them. We do not know how much the licensing cost because we get the licensing and support and maintenance from the reseller, and they bundle all of that into one cost. We do not see the cost of the licensing. IBM sells licensing in thousands of terabytes to the supplier, and the supplier is allowed by IBM to sell that on to us, along with services, packaged with services. In this way, we do not see what the cost of the license is and we do not know what the cost of the services is. All we have is the overall price of the support and maintenance and licensing package.
IBM Storage Protect is generally an expensive tool. However, with good contracts with IBM or its partners, the cost might not be so high. New customers can expect very high prices.
