Regarding pricing, setup costs, and licensing, iboss is not cheap, and that's my only concern. There are cheaper alternatives available, but they do not perform as well. Since iboss is cloud-based, there are still gains and losses compared to others that are on-site. For example, I have worked with ZScaler, which does not offer the functionality we need in a multi-domain environment (and it was considerably more expensive than iboss). Additionally, I know from previous companies that ZScaler caused issues with O365 (which we utilise extensively).

When we initially used it, it was a part of our Internet Service Provider Ocean's service. They provided it as a member service, so it was at no additional cost to us. We stayed with iboss even after Ocean left. We decided to pay for the iboss service. We had the cost of purchasing a new appliance along with the implementation and licensing costs. However, the following year, the cost of just licensing was similar to what was paid the previous year for a new appliance along with the implementation and licensing costs.

Their pricing is excellent. It fits within our meager security budget for these kinds of tools, and we're pleased with the pricing. Like everybody else, things go up when you add features, and we understand that. Overall, we'd pay a significantly larger amount of money to other competitors in the space if we were to get all the features we have with them right now.

It's essentially per user and access point. By multiplying the number of access points and users, I can quickly determine the cost, simplifying forecasting. I need to estimate the number of new employees we're hiring next year to anticipate the additional cost. This level of predictability is rare among my vendors, as many surprise me with their bills.
