The license model is similar to other SIEM solutions that we looked at, which is a log volume pricing model. That pricing model works well, especially being able to filter the logs and get less important logs in so we have the ability and the headroom to put in other log sources.

I would rate the pricing 4 out of 5. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees. The customers commonly want to know what is the price for the service in different bands. So we work on a banded price model, and it is something that is complicated. We include the UEBA, which is sized and quoted in terms of the number of users and entities. So we need to make a price banded model for the SIEM and a price banded model for the UEBA. We need two of them and they are related. If you increase the number of users, you are increasing the cost of the service of the SIEM. Sometimes we don't know the exact relationship between these two components. In the case of other solutions in the cloud, like Securonix, you just need to say to the customer, "This is the price of the different bands."

The support which allows more customized to the environment when we are deploying new systems is called Professional Service and is very expensive. The technical annual support and there is an annual fee. The price of LogRhythm NextGen SIEM engineers is expensive, but when comparing them to ELK, ELK engineers are more expensive.

We work with French-speaking African countries, and it costs more than the average SIEM solution. Also, the pricing isn't too flexible. AlienVault, Splunk, and IBM QRadar are more suitable for customers on a tight budget.

When they buy the license, whether on-prem or cloud licenses, I don't think that's all they pay. We do charge them for implementation and installation, but that's about it. Subscription is year on year.

The setup and licensing for small and medium size businesses is straightforward, though when it comes to the enterprise it pays to keep in mind the possibility for complications given all the extras and add-ons that may be required.
LogRhythm pricing is based on the MPS. They always quote the pricing per unit of MPS. The number of MPS which the customer needs is what we provide with the unit price and we get a good discount on it, as per LogRhythm. The price is in USD. For that reason, when we convert from USD to our currency, the pricing seems quite high. Everything is included. We get the data processing license as well as the sole license and the filing, ticketing, monitoring licenses, and the collector license as well. We get everything in one package.

It costs a great amount, but its pricing is competitive with some of the other vendors. For licensing and support, we pay about 20,000. There are no additional costs or anything like that.

Because we are a developing country, the costs depend on country development. We implement it for large-scale companies because normal companies, startup companies, can't afford products at that price. We mainly focus on large-scale companies.

In our market, for the price it costs, our clients aren't using this solution so much. It seems to be quite expensive in Nepal. That said, even with the fees and a rather high cost, it is the best product among other competitors.

This is a solution for people who have cash to spend. Everything is expensive with LogRhythm, and you don't get anything for free. I suggest that everybody who uses this product receive the full training and certification, and can also afford to pay for the high-level engineering support. If you don't have the money for the training, then it's not for you. It costs approximately $5,000, but if you don't get it then you won't be an efficient user. It is a very complicated product, so the training has to be a commitment that you're willing to make. The training cannot be for a single person, but everybody who will be using the product. LogRhythm sells you a box that has a certain capacity for incoming log messages. Once you exceed that capacity, you have to buy another box and cluster it. It's expensive. It is for environments where the money is not a barrier.

The nice thing about LogRhythm is you can either use the agents, getting a certain number of agents with your license depending on how you want to go, and those agents do a lot of cool things, or you can use CIS Log host, then you have like an unlimited number of them. So, we have used the CIS Log for a lot of ours because it was easy to put into LogRhythm and change the destination of our CIS log solution. Now, our CIS Logs go into LogRhythm, and it's easy. You see them pop up there, then you just accept them as new log sources, and bingo you're in. Now, you're working. So, it is really good.

The setup was pretty straightforward. They sent us the appliance, we tailored it to our needs, made sure our network met everything it was looking for. We worked with their support a little bit on what they recommend for setting everything up. We had a kick-off meeting before they sent the appliance to us and they handed all the documentation to us. That aspect's good. But working with the engineering support has lacked.

We did a five-year agreement. We pay close to a quarter of a million dollars for our solution.
