What is your experience regarding pricing and costs for Microsoft Endpoint Manager?

The pricing is reasonable.

Microsoft is generally super complicated in pricing because they split every package into an extra subscription. I know about the licenses such as Business Premium, E3, E5, F3, and so on. This is straightforward and clear what you get. But with Copilot additional license and endpoint security advanced packages, it's not clear for customers whose main business isn't Microsoft Intune or M365 administration. As a middleman, I have to explain the complicated stuff from Microsoft to the customer.

Microsoft Intune is very cost-efficient, which is a major reason for its rapid growth compared to other tools in the industry. Additionally, its ability to integrate configurations and collaborate with services like Copilot and recent offerings from Microsoft makes it stand out, allowing it to grow at a faster pace compared to other MDM tools.

The pricing for Microsoft Intune is very reasonable because organizations can pay without complaints. Microsoft Intune isn't sold standalone only. Organizations can buy Microsoft 365 Business Premium, which includes Microsoft Intune with the license. It's a reasonable price to use Microsoft Intune.

Microsoft Intune doesn't require any maintenance; the only cost involved is paying for the package on a yearly or monthly basis.

The pricing of Microsoft Intune rates around four or five out of ten. The cost structure varies based on requirements. We utilize licensing bundles such as Microsoft 365 Business Premium, which includes the Microsoft Intune license and provides good value. Microsoft Intune alone costs approximately $6 monthly, but considering its device management capabilities, application installation features, and Microsoft Autopilot deployment functionality, the price is reasonable.

While Microsoft products can be expensive, they offer valuable functionality. The enterprise app catalog, though license-based, provides numerous third-party applications with auto-update options. Ivanti brings significant capabilities in third-party application updates and patching.

It's cheap. It's not expensive.

On the pricing side, the cost for tools like Microsoft Intune can be challenging for early-stage companies that cannot afford such expenses. For smaller companies, the comparison often leads them to choose a local Active Directory, as it involves a one-time cost for purchasing and configuring servers. With Windows Server's built-in Active Directory feature, there are no additional costs for customizing policies. In contrast, Intune is a cloud-based solution that requires a recurring monthly payment. Moreover, the price increases with every additional endpoint, which wasn't the case before. This cost structure could pose challenges for startups that are struggling financially. However, companies aiming for a fully secure environment and those with a dedicated cybersecurity budget can plan to implement Intune effectively. In summary, I would say that Microsoft Intune is the best product for established companies. It can be quite difficult for new companies without a cybersecurity budget to manage the associated costs.

With one user base license, we can use Intune for up to five devices. However, with SOTI MobiControl, each license is tied to a single device, meaning one license is dedicated to one device only.

We purchased the solution directly from Microsoft. I find the price for Microsoft Intune too high, which represents an area for improvement in Microsoft's pricing model.

The price of Microsoft Intune is reasonable. It depends on the capabilities you purchase and what features you want in Microsoft Intune, not only device management but also other security capabilities. If you want to have security features included in their licenses, then you have to buy the security license, such as the E5 license of Microsoft. There are different scenarios.

It's a bit expensive from a licensing perspective, especially as we look to have organizations with tenants across the globe. Whether in multiple commercial environments or as a clear defense contractor, there are times when we have multiple different user accounts, and we have to pay per seat. It would be great in the future if we were able to automatically associate those types of things within the licensing model.

Microsoft Intune is pretty reasonable. We have difficulty with Azure, which is probably why we have not put many assets in Azure. Everything we put there is very expensive. Because we have so much on-premises equipment and assets, we put many items on-premises for that reason, and only if something absolutely has to live in the cloud, we put it there.

My experience with the pricing, setup costs, and licensing of Microsoft Intune has been good. As a partner, we always look for how we can generate more revenue from a consulting point of view, but I do not see any complaints from the customer side regarding pricing, so they are satisfied with it.

The pricing licensing model of Microsoft Intune seems competitive.

It's bundled with Business Premium and an E3 license, which is beneficial. If you have to pay extra, it's pricey, but with the bundled package, it's acceptable. They recently increased the Business Premium pricing, which we don't appreciate. The price increase and yearly commitment are causing some problems for us.

Cost is not my department, but the product is included in the E5 license that we already pay for every user, so no additional cost is incurred.

Consolidating vendors has lowered our licensing costs. However, some features included in Microsoft's Intune might be 50 percent more expensive if purchased separately from another vendor. Specifically, if we consider upgrading Azure Active Directory or Entra to the P2 level, adding Intune capabilities, and acquiring the full Intune suite, Microsoft offers a significantly lower per-user cost compared to external vendors. With Microsoft, it's just a couple of dollars per user, while external vendors typically charge $10-$14 per user for similar functionality. I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive.

On a scale of one to ten with one being the cheapest, the cost of Microsoft Intune is a five.

Earlier, Microsoft used to give the license using the MSDN subscription, now the subscription part uses the M365 E3/E5. Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license.

We don't have just the Intune license. We have the Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 license, but I don't have the exact figures. Someone else was involved in the initial discussions and purchase, and the entire environment was handed over to me. Any bundle package, such as Security E3, covers multiple things, such as AAP, BitLocker, etc. If you go for them individually, they would be more expensive. Bundling makes the price more attractive and competitive.

We don't pay for Intune because it is bundled with the premium subscription to Office 365. It includes Intune and Defender. I don't have to buy two extra products to manage my enterprise.

The price isn't too bad

If you consider a Microsoft bundle in the operating system, it's pretty interesting in terms of pricing. If you're considering it as a standalone, it's difficult to sell, due to the price.

We renewed our contract with Microsoft about a few months ago. It's pretty simple to renew. We have various licenses for Microsoft including, for example, for Office, Defender, et cetera. I'd rate the pricing and ease of renewal at an eight out of ten.

We have a broader enterprise agreement which is set up as a four-year period. In terms of extra costs, there may be some infrastructure costs, especially for the on-premise part of the solution.

The pricing is reasonable. Microsoft Endpoint Manager is not expensive overall, especially for small environments. But for enterprises with more than 6,000 or 7,000 users, it can start to get a little expensive.
