Regarding the license, the Microsoft 365 license I am taking is quite expensive, and every year it goes higher. The solution is expensive for Microsoft Teams as well.
I have no information about the cost as these are subsidized when procured by companies. Getting a home version cheaper or free would be a better option so students or college-goers can utilize these features prior to using them directly in work functions.

It's part of the Microsoft 365 subscription, so it's either monthly or whatever your organization agrees on. It's part of the EULA (End-User License Agreement). It is expensive. The licensing fees depend on the features you want. You don't buy only the Teams license; you buy it as part of the Microsoft 365 bundle. If you want extra Active Directory features, then you need to buy, for example, Azure Active Directory P1 or P2 licenses. Those are extra and give you more identity features to manage Microsoft 365. If you want to use other features, like malware protection or protection from email attacks, then you need to pay for those as well. It depends on your usage and your organization's needs.
The price of the product is okay. The challenge with Microsoft's licensing model is that the prices are on the higher side, especially for companies that have more users where spending a lot on licenses may be required. The cost is high in general.

I would rate the pricing as a ten out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is very expensive. They need to work on their pricing. I hear they want to decouple Teams from some of the packages, but I don't know how true that is. But I would like the prices to be lower.

The government takes care of the licenses with Microsoft and all the other legal stuff since we are a state university. The prices are much lower when the government negotiates with Microsoft rather than when we do it ourselves.
It is affordable because it also includes the licenses on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and SharePoint. The subscription is already covered with the $10 per month subscription.

There are many levels of pricing. If you have clients who do not have a computer and are joining with their phones it's an additional fee of $5.00 per user. Bridging is a cost of $20 or $30.00 dollars, which is part of the subscription.
If you have content that requires more security and you want to use it in a more secure manner, with more protection, then it will come at a higher cost. You have to set your environment up with additional features, such as multifactor authentication and identity protection, which are not available in the basic plan. Instead, they can be purchased additionally from Microsoft.
From what I know the licensing comes in a bundle. There is an enterprise license that comes with email, Office Suite like Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and a second possible option without the added features. I believe that the fees are charged based on the number of users.
