The pricing is fine compared to the market but I think that at some point the competitors will catch up on price. It would be good if, for example, there were an option to offer customers who have used the solution for more than a year some kind of additional trial or service. There is no cost outside of the standard licensing fee, other than an initial installation service charge. Otherwise, there is simply a monthly cost for the service.

I had heard that it was much cheaper than Splunk and some of the other tools, and they gave us a nice package with support. They accommodated the number of users and support very well.

Compared to the pricing of other products, Securonix's pricing is pretty good. Clients can get half of the price of other companies by going with Securonix. Other products, like IBM and Splunk, have pretty high pricing. Nowadays, we see CrowdStrike as up and coming, and they are pretty expensive. Pricing does depend on what model you are looking for, e.g., are you going for an MSP or single tenant?

A good thing about Securonix is that they don't charge by volume of data or number of devices. I don't have to think twice about what I bring into the system. That was a big pain point for me before because every time I brought something in I had to pay extra. They charge by the number of employees, which is a much more predictable number for me, versus data. Our costs are in the $100,000 range over a three-year subscription. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees.

We have an annual license. We pay $200,000 for the base licensing and we pay another $50,000 for the software as a service. In terms of any additional costs, it depends on how extensively we use the Professional Services. I might spend another $45,000 to $50,000 a year on them, but that's because we're always coming up with new things and changes. If I wasn't asking them to make coding or application changes, then that cost would be unnecessary because the additional cost for the software as a service includes the maintenance, 24/7 monitoring, etc. Because the Hadoop version is new to us, we're expanding into new data sources and new threat and risk models. For that, there's an additional cost for the coding.
We have an annual cloud license. We have a license from our 5.0, so that license just continued. We paid them the extra cloud-hosting costs for a year which were about $300,000. That's basically the whole cost. The licensing fee is based on the number of identities and, other than that, it's just the hosting cost.

I can't say anything from a numbers standpoint, but we went in on a three-year agreement which has an annual licensing fee, based upon the number of people that we're monitoring. There have not been any additional costs to the standard licensing fees.
