Apiiro is primarily used for code scanning and integration with source code control. The main use cases include code scanning and code snippet analysis. Apiiro provides security and visibility by helping the organization discover, monitor, and identify potential security risks to improve governance. I have been using Apiiro specifically for API management integration and secure connectivity between application services. It helps manage centrally and enforces complete security policies and simple communication with the cloud enterprise system for governance purposes. API visibility and usage insights have helped my team to better understand how different services and applications interact across the environment. It made it easier for the teams to identify used, unused, and managed APIs, monitor traffic behavior, and troubleshoot integration issues more efficiently. Apiiro supported better governance and gave the teams clear insight into usage patterns and potential security risks.
My only use case is the reporting, which is correct. My role is limited because this is an additional role that I do on top of my day job, so it is only limited to pulling out reports and working with the respective engineering or support teams.
We use Apiiro to detect secrets in our code, including SCA and SBOM generation. We recently used it to identify unused and public GitHub repositories, which we were able to clean up and remove code that should have been private. We deployed Apiiro as SaaS.
