I have worked with, as well as consulted on/to several of the top BPM/iBPM platforms internationally. I refer to them as iBPM as many of the top solutions are calling themselves this. The "i" stands for "intelligent" and I would say that each of the top solutions have "their own angle" on why their solution is "truly intelligent".
PS: I am no longer traveling around the world to consult, so this is purely my pennies worth and not a sales pitch :-)
As far as Bonita is concerned, it was included in one of the system selection processes, it was very highly rated, however at the end it was not the solution selected. However, that does not mean that it is not a great product, it simply means one of the other solutions had a few specifics that fitted that use case better.
In my view, there is no one size fits all. When it comes to choosing the right iBPM for your organisation, many different aspects need to be considered, including (not limited to):
1) Your organisation size & level of technical resources;
2) Process complexities;
3) Level of current documentation around your current processes;
4) Integration complexities;
5) Reporting requirements;
6) Cost vs Benefit.
Other things to take into consideration include:
1) With the right technical expertise ANY of the main products can be made to do what you want - at a cost!!
2) No-Code will only take you so far - NO MATTER what a solution provider tells you.
3) If you are looking at process improvement rather than (or, as well as) process automation, you will need to have/hire the right experts in that area. I have seen SO many projects go astray because the decision to go DIY was the go.
4) Ask for the TOTAL ongoing costs at various levels of users/processes/apps. Some solutions look super affordable on the face of it, but as you progress the ongoing costs start to build.
5) When looking at who will make up the team, relevant "been there done that" experience will ALLWAYS trump a list of qualifications with little experience.

We are an implementation partner, and we implement Bonita. Most of our implementations are on-premises. It is used for process and workflow automation. When there is heavy customization in the process Bonita is the best compare to other products in the market. We have implemented 30+ processes for various customers (Pharma, Manufacturing, Financial). The tool is very easy to use and built on open-source technology. Easy to integrate with external systems.

I think Camunda has a bigger community than Bonita. For example in Git or Git hub.
Both of them are useful and reliable process automation tools.
We are in the early stages of testing this solution. It is used for business process automation.

I have been using Bonita to develop processes using the Bonita Studio. We have only been using it for simple, object console processes.
I use this as part of my solution for BPM (Business Process Management) development.
I am using it in a development/pre-production environment for testing.
