My main use case for Glean Platform is searching for information about web data and personal contacts. I also attempted to use it to automate a particular workflow that I run in strategic partnerships. I wanted to create an AI assistant that works based on particular actions. For example, if an opportunity in Salesforce is in the pipeline, closed, or deferred, there are three sub-workflows attached to it that I have to redo repeatedly every day. I thought an AI assistant could identify what happens to a closed opportunity or what happens to an opportunity in the pipeline, then we could put it on the partner website and create a sample Excel sheet for that.

My main use case for Glean Platform is aggregating company info like a super Google, and then also using agents to streamline repetitive processes. A specific example of how I use Glean Platform for aggregating company info or streamlining processes is conducting searches across multiple data sources like Confluence and Jira and other stored local documents and spreadsheets. I use Glean Platform to evaluate multiple existing issues and historical issues and to offer suggestions on solutions.
Glean Platform integrates with our enterprise data and tools and systems, so the use cases range from writing an email and replying to an email to reviewing documents like PRDs, RFCs, or system design documents and fetching answers for any open questions. I create many Glean Platform agents which can automate my use cases working in the capacity of a technical program manager, such as taking a first attempt at writing or drafting a project plan or escalation frameworks such as a RAPID document. I use Glean Platform for all these use cases which occur almost on a daily basis. I use the RAPID framework, which is one of the escalation frameworks used by all organizations. RAPID means Recommend, Approve, Perform, Inform, and Decide. For any project where you are stuck at a decision, whether it is misalignment between product or engineering teams, a project that you are running with scope creep in the middle, misalignment between two engineering teams, or misalignment with the prioritization of any projects for any given quarter, you go through escalation and write a RAPID document which helps you reach a decision. A RAPID document identifies all the stakeholders for different functions and then also gives options such as option A or B, and then pros and cons of both options. It helps the decision maker to take an informed decision. Doing it manually is very time-consuming, and Glean Platform can do it in seconds. It can at least take a first attempt at it, and then if I am not happy with the output, I can make minor tweaks. For me, it works with eighty to eighty-five percent accuracy. This happens quite frequently. If I am running seven or eight projects in a quarter, out of those seven or eight projects, maybe two or three will have these misalignments, prioritization issues, or discussions where I need a RAPID document. Glean Platform helped me save a lot of time. Glean Platform can range from very simple tasks such as drafting an email to writing an escalation email or summarizing a document, extracting key pointers, or creating personalized Glean Platform agents for my own use cases such as creating a project plan, taking a first attempt at writing a PRD, or creating a RAPID document. It can help with a variety of use cases.

Glean Platform is currently being used primarily to focus on employee productivity. It is used for finding information, doing document comparisons, and educating our customers. For example, a banking customer selling credit card or loan solutions can compare and contrast two different credit card offers and find information quickly to serve customers better. Glean Platform helps our teams and customers compare credit card offers or find information quickly by creating an agent for a particular set of data. This agent helps either a seller or myself to find information, upload two different credit card options or documents, and compare and contrast the differences very quickly within minutes rather than reading both PDFs and taking notes to explain to a customer. This improves productivity and saves time. Our team uses Glean Platform primarily to find information quickly, do comparisons, and build agents across our own data. For example, we work on a lot of infrastructure builds with bill of materials for certain customers. Glean Platform helps us find and standardize the SKUs and standardize the SOW, or if the scope is the same across multiple projects in multiple countries, it helps us build a scope of work document across multiple projects in a couple of hours rather than doing manual effort.
My main use case for Glean Platform is consolidating marketing materials, as I work in DevOps Sales Ops. I set up this platform for the sales team to review material that might be useful for talking to prospects. One specific example of how the sales team uses Glean Platform to find material for talking to prospects is when we had a prospect and Glean Platform was able to consolidate all the information that we had. That way it was easy to consolidate all the material and then create an email to send out.
