Trend Micro ServerProtect is basically a server protection solution. Given the system architecture, there is endpoint protection, the APEX, and then there is the server end protection. That is exactly what we are using it for. Given my function, it is basically around the capability to identify and escalate attacks because Trend Micro ServerProtect plugs into the Vision One. It is part of the XDR capability. What we use it for basically is for identification of malicious file executions, attacks, and basically around the security of the infrastructure. It gives me insight into what is happening on the server. It is streamlined and we have that integrated as well. We use it extensively because it acts as a sandbox. When threat actors want to exfiltrate or compromise our servers, they introduce malware. With the sandboxing technology, we can explode those malware samples and then evaluate them. We have the capability to also block those executions.

I have been offering Trend Micro ServerProtect solutions bundled with protection. It always comes with protection along with other solutions such as UPSs for hardware power protection and malware protection. It becomes a value add to customers. We offer not just the hardware but the whole solution including security and backup.

Regarding use cases for Trend Micro ServerProtect, the EDR and XDR use cases are now considered older, as most customers have already implemented those parts with Trend Micro and CrowdStrike. Now, customers are looking for advanced tools such as Cloud Security Platforms and CASB solutions to protect data. The current Indian market is relatively dull concerning DLP, EDR, and endpoint security, so they focus on other security solutions because they have already purchased and implemented many things.
At our company, we use Trend Micro ServerProtect for almost all the servers, including Windows servers and web servers. The solution is able to meet the server security expectations.

Currently, we use it for end-point server protection in our hybrid environment. We have it installed on our infrastructure servers, and it helps improve server performance and provides antivirus capabilities. Additionally, we utilize the big security feature for server environments, which is specifically designed for Java.

We use Trend Micro ServerProtect for virtual patching. It also provides full security that is specific to the service, e.g. it is able to handle the VMs (virtual machines) way better.

Primary use case for the solution is to provide our employees with endpoint security. We install it on their endpoint, deploy and manage it. Traffic size is quite small, with less than 40 workstations in our network and our aim is to begin offering it to our clients as an option. There are two of us in the company who maintain it - one IT person and myself and the solution is running 24/7. We are customers of Trend Micro ServerProtect and I'm a cybersecurity engineer.
I am actually a reseller for Trend Micro. I do not use the ServerProtect product for my environment, I only resell the company's products. Our clients use it for multiple purposes on-demand, like using it as an IPS (Intrusion Prevention System), for Virtual Batching, or for application control. Those are only some of the use cases. There are many and they apply as per the needs of the particular client.

Smart Protection is a suite from Trend Micro for endpoint antivirus, called Apex One. It comes with sandbox and we also use the mail protection and the mail host gateway, which is part of the same bundle. It allows us to protect the OneDrive and SharePoint, and emails too.
Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage, powered by XGen security, leverages a blend of cross-generational threat protection techniques to safeguard a wide range of network attached storage systems by detecting and removing viruses and spyware in real time.
