The biggest area for improvement in Trellix Email Security is the pricing. The solution is quite expensive. I remember last year we lost an opportunity because the quote was far too expensive compared to what the customer was willing to pay. The pricing was not competitive at all. If the pricing were more affordable, the solution would be able to achieve greater sales. In terms of features, I have not used the solution long enough to advise on future feature changes. However, from my perspective as a distributor trying to sell the solution, the biggest barrier we have encountered is the pricing.
I think Trellix Email Security needs to improve different sides of email security, especially the filtering process. Email filtering needs some required reporting on it. If anybody sends any important file or files attached to the mail, whenever they send it to another person, they require that from restriction files they will not be able to send it through the mail. When they send the mail, they want to get the actual report on that, why they are sending and which way they are sending these emails. Those types of requirements customers want, and that part can be improved on Trellix Email Security.
I believe Trellix Email Security could be improved as the reporting could use some improvement. In addition to the reporting, I think there is a high number of false positives that also need attention.
I have recommendations for increasing dashboard customization. Currently, we are using custom dashboards, but they are not effectively customizable. If they provide better customization options, it would be easier to understand everything in a single dashboard instead of navigating through dropdown menus to see reports. Additionally, log retention is currently 30 days, but some customers request to extend it to 60 days. Having 60 days of log retention would be helpful for maintaining logs.
