If you want a Linux based solution with better VM support and management Red Hat Enterprise costs less than the two big players. The new York Stock Exchange tested and is implementing the released version. I have been viewing the Red Hat sessions that are covering this.

All the comments on VDI VMware has Horizon 6 that is vast improvement. The hired one of the Citrix Engineers and added a lot of applications related deployment capabilities. I saw a demo of pushing office to an IPAD. It lacks I few services that a third party can cover.

VMware is the most complete Visualization offering that is why in belongs in top Quadrant. It is stable and has been adding features with every new release and the different version in the release, I have worked with VMware for nine years most recently with 5.1

Juniper is more on the high end. If you want a lot choices Cisco has a wide selection to pick from for a lot of purposes. I have been with Cisco for 12 years now so I have more familiarity with them.
