I use Azure Advisor daily to review cost and performance recommendations. For example, I identify underutilized virtual machines and right-size or shut them down, which helps reduce cloud costs and improve resource efficiency.
In addition, I use Azure Advisor for improving security and reliability by reviewing recommendations such as enabling MFA, closing unused ports, and implementing high availability setups, which help strengthen our cloud posture and ensure best practices are consistently followed.
What is most valuable?
The best features Azure Advisor offers are its personalized recommendations, cost optimization, and centralized dashboard, as it continuously analyzes our environment and provides actionable insights across cost, performance, security, reliability, and operational excellence.
I use the cost optimization feature of Azure Advisor most frequently because it directly helps identify underutilized or idle resources and provides clear recommendations to reduce unnecessary cloud spending, which has an immediate impact on budget control and overall efficiency.
Additionally, I find the security and reliability recommendations of Azure Advisor very valuable as they help proactively identify risks, enforce best practices, and ensure high availability, which strengthens overall cloud governance and operational stability.
Azure Advisor has positively impacted our organization by reducing cloud costs through right-sizing and removing unused resources, improving performance with optimization recommendations.
Using Azure Advisor, we observe around twenty to thirty percent cost savings through right-sizing virtual machines and removing idle resources, along with improved performance and availability due to optimized configuration and proactive recommendations.

My experience with customer support for Azure Advisor is generally positive as it is backed by Microsoft Azure support. Although Azure Advisor itself is a self-service tool, for advanced scenarios, we engage Microsoft support or cloud architects who provide strong technical guidance and best practices. Sometimes the response time can depend on the support plan, but overall, the support is reliable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Earlier we relied on manual monitoring and the basic Azure Cost Management tool, but we switched to Azure Advisor because it provides automated, centralized, and actionable recommendations across cost, performance, security, and reliability, thus reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Azure Advisor has been very positive since it is a native Azure service available with no additional cost, requiring no separate setup or license, making it easy to use while delivering strong value in cost optimization and performance insights.

We have seen ROI from using Azure Advisor with around twenty to thirty percent cost savings through right-sizing and removing unused resources, along with reduced manual efforts in monitoring and optimization, which saves administrative time and improves overall operational efficiency.

What other advice do I have?
My advice is to regularly review recommendations in Azure Advisor and prioritize high-impact actions such as cost optimization and security improvements, integrate it with your governance and monitoring processes, and act on the recommendations consistently to maximize savings.
