IBM Cloud Container Registry Reviews

We have the infrastructure for an executive program on business intelligence and analytics. We use the the IBM cloud to provide the computing solution for the course.

Access is only provided by students on campus. It works well for us.

There is the possibility or necessity of containers to provide a better solution for business intelligence needs.

The price should be reduced.

I have been using IBM Cloud Container Registry for one year and a half.

I rate the solution' stability a nine out of ten.

We didn't have any difficulties. 60 students are using this solution.

I rate the solution's scalability an eight out of ten.

Support could be a little bit faster.

The initial setup takes a few weeks. I rate it seven out of ten, with one being difficult and ten being easy.

The deployment was mainly internal because we had a provider, but they only gave us credits for the EVM core. We cannot buy directly from EVM. We have to contact the provider for EVM. The main configuration was internal.

I rate the pricing at six on a scale, of ten where ten is expensive. 

It was limited because it was only to support a program. There was some benefits because we didn't have the infrastructure physically, so we would have to buy it. We didn't have to make an investment at the beginning. It has pay-as-you-use pricing. It was good for us.

In this Business Intelligence and Analytics program, there are about 15 courses. In  10 courses, they use the cloud infrastructure, different software. They have MySQL database with lots of data. They have to do exercises and and analyze the the data. Basically, they had to do a lot of exercises regarding machine learning.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

The free tool benefits customers who cannot afford to create new containers on-premises. They leverage this service to store images for their application deployments. These images undergo scanning in the IBM Cloud Container Registry by default. Once the reports are generated, any issues identified are addressed by fixing the images through updates and patches. Subsequently, these images are used to deploy their applications. We also use it for our DevOps workflow. 

The container services offered by hyperscalers like Azure, AWS, and IBM Cloud are superior to self-managed services like Harbor. These services are easy to access and provide enhanced security features. Overall, the container features by hyperscalers provide great flexibility for application deployments, and I have no complaints about them so far.

You don't need a separate security tool when you use the IBM Cloud Container Registry. It is also free of cost. The solution will scan and provide reports. The advantage of using hyperscaler container services is that they can be accessed on private and public networks. This allows clients to use the same container infrastructure for various environments, whether on-premise or hyperscale.

The product is efficient and can be used for multiple environments. 

IBM Cloud Container Registry should improve its API management. One improvement factor could be enhancing the integration capabilities of container registries like Harbor with hyperscaler platforms. While some container registries, like Azure Container Registry and IBM Cloud Container Registry, are tightly integrated with their respective hyperscaler environments, others may lack integration options.

I have been working with the product for five years. 

I rate the product's stability a ten out of ten. 

I rate the tool's scalability an eight out of ten. IBM only provides 5GB. 

IBM's premium support is quicker with faster responses. It's normal support response or resolution time lags.

The tool's deployment is simple. Users can download the container images and deploy their applications using the free URLs. The process is simple logic. 

The product is recommended to enterprises due to its high costs.
