Use cases for ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer include combining many devices into one central system, allowing you to view VPN traffic. You can also optimize rules, manage the asset list, and when you receive any attacks from outside the Internet, you can audit and generate various reports in ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer.

The strong points of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer are many, but I think my favorite feature focuses on the VPN traffic. If I want to manage my policy and optimize it, I find that ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer supports many vendors after Firewall.

One aspect I want to improve in ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is the maximum number of firewalls that can be managed. I learned from the internal support team that one prop server only supports three to five firewalls. I think one prop server can manage a maximum of five because if I have many devices here, the performance of the prop would be very high, considering CPU and RAM usage.

I have been using ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer for about three years.

I use ManageEngine's real-time alerts along with many other products on the side, including the firewall analyzer and the endpoint center. When someone changes the configuration or running config in the network conflict manager, it sends alerts to my email.

The technical support for ManageEngine is very good, and I would rate it a seven out of ten.

The installation process for ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is very easy because I take about fifteen minutes to install it completely for the firewall manager on the invoicing pro. However, the time consumed during the project comes during the SDVY phase and configuring the Manage policy, which takes longer.

I do not have experience with threat intelligence offerings in detecting potential threats.

Overall, I rate ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer a nine out of ten, while for the app manager, I would give it a six or maybe a seven.

ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is used as a sub-product of a suite called OPManager, and while it's a feature meant for monitoring specific firewall policies, traffic, and managing changes, we have always sold it as an add-on to OPManager rather than as a standalone product.

ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is sold as one feature among many; it specifically monitors firewalls by providing insights on policies, incoming and outgoing traffic, and allows change management with appropriate approvals, enabling users to manage multiple firewalls across different OEMs from a single dashboard.

ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer's feature for in-depth traffic analysis includes configuration management and overall monitoring of firewalls, with an emphasis on compliance management, allowing for automated reports across different OEMs to meet regulatory standards.

Regarding the effectiveness of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer's automated alerts and notifications, if we have set the correct thresholds and configured it properly, alerts and notifications are always reliable.

The real-time monitoring feature of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is fairly good; it allows customization of polling intervals down to a couple of seconds, which helps catch unusual activities before major security incidents arise, enabling us to set thresholds and alerts to investigate issues proactively.

The historical trend analysis feature of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer benefits long-term network planning and optimization efforts by retaining data for a year, or longer if storage permits, enabling the analysis of trends and better forecasting for bandwidth needs.

This is a direct benefit received from ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer; while it's an advanced feature that customers typically use later for forecast planning, it's a very effective feature for insights into network performance.

To improve ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer, they need to implement Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) support for firewalls and switches across their NMS products, as this would significantly save time; currently, they rely on CLI configurations and templates but are missing this modern feature.

I have been working with ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer for about six years, while we've been using ManageEngine's Endpoint Central for over 10 years, as Firewall Analyzer is not the first product we picked up from ManageEngine.

Regarding the installation and deployment process of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer, if the firewalls are of reputed brands like Sophos, Cisco, or Fortinet, they are supported out of the box; however, if they are from less reputed or local OEMs, then it may require some support from the ManageEngine team to get these onboarded properly.

In our experience with ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer, customers typically go for a globally recognized firewall provider due to the importance of security; hence, we have faced only very popular firewall brands, making installation and deployment very easy, and we haven't needed support from ManageEngine at all.

ManageEngine's technical support is fairly consistent and good; however, remote support can be a bit slow, which is why they rely on channel partners to offer faster solutions to end customers, although ManageEngine support is technically capable of resolving issues proficiently.

ManageEngine's support deserves an eight out of ten rating, as they have great knowledge but can be a bit slower by design.

I have used the solution in my company since 2013, as there were different vendors' products, like Cisco, Juniper, and FortiGate. Altogether, there were no solutions where I could get the reports and other things in a single dashboard, so my company chose ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer and then integrated multiple firewalls to analyze the logs, getting the alerts and get the reports.

It's reduced the manual task and save FTE.

The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a very user-friendly tool compared to other solutions. The tool's features are almost similar to those of other solutions, but the integration and use of the solution are very easy.

What is happening in sometimes, if any issues found in the tool, ManageEngine takes time to provide a proper fix, but it does not happen most of the time. If there is a need to get some customized report or feature, ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer team takes some time. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement. From a product point of view, the tool is good, user-friendly, and offers easy installation and easy configuration.

I have been using ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer since 2013. From 2013 to 2019, my company was a customer of the product, and after that, I entered into a ManageEngine partner organization.

The product is stable. Suppose any vulnerability or anything is found in the solution. In that case, ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer informs their customers about it immediately via emails and asks to update the solution to the current version offered immediately.

It is a scalable solution.

The solution is a robust firewall log analysis tool that helps organizations monitor, analyze, and manage their firewall logs. Some key aspects of scalability are Support for Multiple Vendors and Devices, Capacity to Handle Log Volume, Real-time Monitoring and Alerts, Centralized Management, Historical Data and Trend Analysis and flexible licensing & costing.

The support of the product is very good. The product offers support via emails, chats, and even through community support. I rate the support team more than nine out of ten.

I have experience with CA Service Management and SolarWinds. I have experience with CA Technologies and SolarWinds. I don't have much idea about SolarWinds, but I know that CA Technologies is much more complex than ManageEngine. Two or three years before CA Technologies has been acquired by Broadcom.

I used CA Technologies as an administrator at my previous job. I have also deployed and configured CA Technologies as an administrator, so I am able to relate CA Technologies to ManageEngine.

The product's initial setup phase is very easy.

For installation, it will not take more than 30 minutes. For configuration, what is happening is that if anyone currently configured the log from the device, it is a very easy process since you will get the logs and other things immediately. What you need to do is configure the reports and dashboards based on your requirements. The installation and getting of the data in ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is very easy.

I know that the price of the products is flexible. There have been different types of products, like professional and enterprise-based ones, and depending on the requirements, customers can choose their products.

The advantages that ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer has over its competitors stem in areas like reporting, customization, and user-friendliness.

I am satisfied with the product and it is one of the major reasons why my company still uses it.

I'm only using around 40 percent of the features, so I'm not sure what could be improved. 

I've only been using ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer for around two months.

The stability is so-so. There are always memory issues, but the solution is working great apart from that.

It scales according to the licenses you have. Right now, I only have 80 licenses.

We haven't deployed the solution with any company yet; we're thinking about it. As a product, I know it from a previous organization. The only features that I like about it are its simplicity and its ease of use. 

Overall the solution does a good job.

The solution lacks a lot of features that other products have in the marketplace.

The solution needs better visual representation and better reporting. The reports sometimes are not as good as what is offered by other competitors.

The dashboard is sufficient, but it's not as intuitive as many competitor dashboards.

The solution needs a better graphical visualization so that you can see the rules.

Just generally, the solution needs to have the ability to do much more granular level visualizations. This is especially necessary around the policy engines. Users should be able to create network segmentation zones and then do what-if scenarios so that they can understand the impact and do more fine-grain impact analysis of new rules before deploying them.

We haven't deployed the solution yet. In my past organization, it was used for a very small deployment. I have no experience of how good it is in terms of scalability. We will need it to scale if we do use it.  That feature will be something that would be important for us if it's effective.

My job is to evaluate other products in the marketplace against our company's requirements. I've looked at AlgoCircle, Twofin and Skybox. Many of these are more suited for enterprise-level organizations and have far more features than ManageEngine.

We're not personally using the solution. We provide services for it and consider using it for our clients.

I can speak about the product, however, I cannot discuss how the solution is deployed or anything around that.

My job is to evaluate platforms and technologies.

It's a good product, but I'd advise those considering the solution to also evaluate other products in the marketplace against their requirements and then decide that if they want something quick and fast and relatively cheap or not. For quick and cheap, ManageEngine ticks those boxes. If they want something that's more feature-rich and more capable, then they probably need to go to something, like AlgoCircle, or Twofin or Skybox.

I'd rate the solution six out of ten. I'm looking for much more advanced capabilities that ManageEngine hasn't quite got yet for basic deployment. For a small enterprise of maybe 10, 20, 50 firewalls, it's fine. When you're in an environment where you have over half a million rules in the environment, it's not as good.

Firewall Analyzer helps our network team to analyze the log, helps in monitoring the firewall and network security status. It also helps in managing the compliance as per company policy, reviewing employee activities over the internet, etc.

Firewall Analyzer helps our organization to fulfill the compliance requirement as per ISO 27001, managing the network security effectively.

OEM needs to work on pricing, apart from the same current features which are effective and useful for any organization.

Using this product as a syslog server to capture windows server logs and Palo Alto firewall. The default logs per product differ as I needed longer than one month's worth. 

It is another tool to have. In my case, it stores my logs for me so that I can use the product to do reporting.

I found the reporting to be useful because not only can I go back months, but it lists the individual URLs and the time that a particular person visited.

None, as I need it for the syslog portion. It would be awesome if the product could monitor services for applications.

It's quick and responsive. No side effect yet.

I can see it being able to replace the Palo Alto logs as it gives a better view of the information needed.

The most valuable feature is log transparency because it shows logs in a very easy way. You can easily understand the source & destination with the service port number.

The event log also works fine. We get transparency in the event log product.

They should improve monitoring & notifications when switching concepts. My latest experience is they were unable to get switch access alerts. It doesn't have any option for Cisco IPS monitoring. Their server doesn't support 64-bit Check Point firewall & many other types of firewall, like Sophos.

They should appoint more technical staff for Saturday & Sunday support.

I have encountered stability issues. Many times when I have restarted my log server, services wouldn't automatically start.

In the event log analyzer, many times the servers don't show logs.

Customer service is very good & polite. As I mentioned elsewhere, they should appoint more tech staff for Saturday & Sunday support.

Before choosing, we also evaluated SolarWinds Syslog Server.

We use ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer in order to monitor all the security infrastructure that we are in charge of, such as firewalls.

The most valuable features of the ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer are the monitoring of the full management of the network elements and the inventory of the infrastructure.

ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer can improve by having better monitoring of all features from firewalls. We are using Kibana in order to monitor parts that this solution does not record. For example, having more correlation and proactive monitoring in some activity or scenario.

I have used ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer within the last 12 months.

We have been comfortable with the ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer and it has been stable. We have not had any problems with it.

ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer is less expensive than some of their competitors, such as Cisco. The price is one of the reasons why we use ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer.
