Skybox Security Suite and ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer are leading solutions in network security management. Skybox's extensive features and integration capabilities give it an edge for large enterprises, while ManageEngine is favored for its ease of use and cost-effectiveness.
Features: Skybox offers Network Assurance, Change Manager, and Firewall Assurance, providing deep insights into network security issues. Its vulnerability management is crucial for large operations. ManageEngine excels with VPN traffic analysis, compliance management, and user-friendly configuration management, catering to a broad business range.
Room for Improvement: Skybox could enhance its user interface, reporting functionalities, and cloud connectivity visualization, alongside better automation capabilities. ManageEngine needs a web-based interface and improved collector script updates for better device change tracking.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Skybox supports Hybrid Cloud and On-premises deployment, targeting large-scale operations, but its customer support requires faster issue resolution. ManageEngine offers On-premises and Public Cloud deployment with an easy setup and efficient first-line support, making it user-friendly.
Pricing and ROI: Skybox is seen as expensive due to its complex pricing model, potentially deterring smaller firms despite its ROI through automation and reduced breach risks. ManageEngine's affordability and flexible pricing make it a cost-effective option for functionality and budget balance.
The technical support for ManageEngine is very good
A significant issue was contacting support after hours on the weekends.
When someone changes the configuration or running config in the network conflict manager, it sends alerts to my email.
One issue I faced with scalability was the transition from Skybox Security Suite's 6500 platform to the 7500 series due to licensing costs becoming prohibitive.
The lack of continued support and problematic licensing costs were also areas needing improvement.
Only the licensing part of Skybox had an edge. We were not renewing the licenses of Skybox every year, but in the case of other tools, we would have to renew if we wanted to use those tools.
It would be better if something more attractive or similar useful information found in AlgoSec was available.
From a commercial perspective, AlgoSec is more expensive compared to Skybox Security Suite.
The pricing became prohibitive when transitioning between the 6500 and 7500 series models.
The strong points of ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer are many, but I think my favorite feature focuses on the VPN traffic.
The tool successfully helped in preventing vulnerabilities and breaches.
Skybox Security Suite's network modeling and path analysis is a good feature when we need to check regarding the connectivity.
The most helpful feature is the firewall analyzer.
