I am currently in the pilot stage of implementing Microsoft External Attack Surface Management (EASM). My organization is transitioning to a comprehensive track of Microsoft solutions, and we will move to full-scale production in another year, maybe.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Microsoft External Attack Surface Management helps improve the visibility of my exposed vulnerabilities and provides an overview of my security posture across the globe. While asset discovery features are somewhat helpful, complete auto-discovery isn't possible, and manual input of certain assets is necessary.
What needs improvement?
Further integration across different Microsoft products would be an improvement. Introduction of more AI automation into the products would also be beneficial. The integration is not as seamless compared to competitors like Palo Alto.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Defender External Attack Surface Management for less than a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
If ten is the best, then I rate the stability of Defender EASM as seven out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the scalability of Defender EASM as seven out of ten, as there are complexities with integration.
How are customer service and support?
Microsoft support is pretty good. I would rate it eight out of ten. Although problems are not typically resolved during the first call, they usually get fixed after engaging with their product group.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I was using some other product for a few years, however, my organization is now moving to implement Microsoft EASM fully.
How was the initial setup?
The process is not only about the setup - it also involves ongoing operational perspectives.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I rate the pricing of the solution as eight out of ten.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The main competitor for Microsoft Defender External Attack Surface Management would still be Palo Alto.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the overall solution as seven out of ten.
Despite the limitations, I can recommend this product to other users.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
